look up SWGEMU or SWGANH. there isn't much info listed in the public parts of the forums for good reason, but really soon they'll have the final stress test and launch a real live, precu swg server.

However, this manipulation FAILS because the Bounty Hunter clearly has a Force bar. Also, the buff icons are that of the NGE, as we as all his action bar commands.
i wish that when your fighting enemys it was still a little realistic like it was in this video like if you shoot them in the sides they would lean to the side cause if the damage or if they are smaller you would look down on them or if they where bigger you looked up at them. but hey what can you do right?

@Neo1715 umm no. The emulator is illegal whether you have the discs or not. there is no "playign legally" unfortunatley. The "legal" comment is somehign the swgemu "devs" say to make you think everything theyre doing is ok.
if it wasn't legal then swgemu would have been halted by LA years ago. so either its legal or they don't care enough to press charges. im not a lawyer so if you want to go pull something out of the EULA go ahead, but there are 1k+ players on Nova regularly, so if LA would (or maybe could) do something about it theyd have done it already
La dont shut things down until theyre actually up and running. I remember a while ago they tried saying LA gave them their blessing, and they tried to say SOE said if they could get it working they would provide official servers. This was purely to get people to donate. Then guess what happened, they got thousands of dollars in donations, and the main devs ran off with the cash. A dev then came back after a few months, and blamed another dev for it, while he used the excuse he was in college
Its actually true, it's legal to play the emulator if you have the discs because you bought the game and you have to right to use the game in what ever way you want to use them. And if it was illegal they would have been stopped a long time ago.
You are correct, emulators are legal as long as whoever makes them is not in any way profiting from it. Check out impstherelentless - these guys make Star wars films but don't worry about being sued since they do not profit from them in any way.

Honestly i was able to engulf myself in this game, before NGEof course, hell when i first started playing my computer was crap and i would only play at 3AM when the servers werent so populated, i eventually upgraded, but then NGE came in and my Fencing skills became non existant, man could i ever swing that sword =( SOE burn in hell.. What they changed was the core fundamentals of the game. Before it was near impossible for two people to have the same type of character because you had different skills and levels of those skills, dare i say even sub-levels to them. Now you are running along a linear pre-made, dictated level up system so that everyone is the same.
People in real life aren't the same are they? No, so why get rid of the ability to be unique in a game. Answer? Still unknown.
@TheGreatLordTazer another thing about Pre-NGE, was that crafters could use just about any weapon they wanted, after the NGE my toon's CL was 6 but the weapon I had been using for months before was now CL54. Imagine having to goto your harvesters now that you have a crappy gun...the day the NGE was live, I had to hire a body guard to watch as I emptied my harvies and such. What a pain.
Everything. SOE's first bad move was the space expansion which gave the option to use your own ship to fly anywhere. That took the use out of going from one starport to another. So that started making certain places empty. Then they made the CU which really was hard to have fun and experiment to make a unique toon. Such as WoW. WoW everything and everyone is too closely similar. So, it makes it rather boring at times. Plus going from 32 profession's to 9? THAT killed it. Pre-cu SWG ftw!
Game isn't ruined, they simply changed some stuff, they made it somewhat better, easier for younger people to enjoy (Not that I enjoy the young brats that behave like 4 year olds). THis is why it was called NGE, New game ENHANCEMENTS. And for those of you who haven't left primary school yet, enhancments means making something better, enhancing it.
oh really? does ENHANCING the game mean removing content? does ENHANCING the game mean taking away a majority of the professions and skills? you sir are a moron if you think the game was IMPROVED.
what they did was take a good, complex game and turned it into a simple, easy, cookiee cutter WoW clone to try and steal the kiddies away that were playing WoW. dont want to spend 6months to become a jedi? no problem now you just gotta click to become one /facepalm
Aside from making jedi openly accessible to everyone, what did they actually ruin? None of the people here criticising it have really said what changed. Beyond some vague implications.
Specifically they got rid of a bunch of professions that people enjoyed playing. Where you used to have the flexibility of mixing 32 skillsets to create your own unique avatar, now you have to choose one of 9 cookie cutter types. Where as before you had a vibrant player economy with a lot of competition and complexity of crafting, now it is all stripped down to kiddie level.
And lets not discount making Jedi a starting profession. A significant portion of the population spent thousands of hours of game time earning that achievement. They spent thousands of hours more hunting for the best pearls and crystals. All of that got wiped away with 24 hour notice.
yea i used to hunt jedi with my 8k kenetic resistant scout armor that was full ADK'd and wielded one of the BEST pistols on the bloodfin server. I remember I was about full pistoleer and healing in medic tree. Then the nge happened and I quit
I loved this game but the only problem that I had with it was I didn't know what to do to lvl up after I finished the main storyline. I couldn't find any other side-quests so I lost interest.
Nothing really to be honest. The game is in post-NGE now so it's gotten alot better over the years, more and more people are coming back, and SWG itself is in fact making a comeback.

For anyone who does not know, NGE = New game enchancements which technically translated into Let's be more like WOW so as to not lose players, ironically it cost them most of their player base.

Everything. SOE's first bad move was the space expansion which gave the option to use your own ship to fly anywhere. That took the use out of going from one starport to another. So that started making certain places empty. Then they made the CU which really was hard to have fun and experiment to make a unique toon. Such as WoW. WoW everything and everyone is too closely similar. So, it makes it rather boring at times. Plus going from 32 profession's to 9? THAT killed it. Pre-cu SWG ftw!

Game isn't ruined, they simply changed some stuff, they made it somewhat better, easier for younger people to enjoy (Not that I enjoy the young brats that behave like 4 year olds). THis is why it was called NGE, New game ENHANCEMENTS. And for those of you who haven't left primary school yet, enhancments means making something better, enhancing it.
I enjoy the game more now, but that's my opinion.

oh really? does ENHANCING the game mean removing content? does ENHANCING the game mean taking away a majority of the professions and skills? you sir are a moron if you think the game was IMPROVED.
what they did was take a good, complex game and turned it into a simple, easy, cookiee cutter WoW clone to try and steal the kiddies away that were playing WoW. dont want to spend 6months to become a jedi? no problem now you just gotta click to become one /facepalm

They ruined the combat, way you can be who you want to be and not just a commando, the way you can mix classes, they community and loads of stuff

Specifically they got rid of a bunch of professions that people enjoyed playing. Where you used to have the flexibility of mixing 32 skillsets to create your own unique avatar, now you have to choose one of 9 cookie cutter types. Where as before you had a vibrant player economy with a lot of competition and complexity of crafting, now it is all stripped down to kiddie level.

And lets not discount making Jedi a starting profession. A significant portion of the population spent thousands of hours of game time earning that achievement. They spent thousands of hours more hunting for the best pearls and crystals. All of that got wiped away with 24 hour notice.

Crafting is the same just more compact, House decorating is the same, PvE is better, PvP is fun but not as fun as pre cu

yea i used to hunt jedi with my 8k kenetic resistant scout armor that was full ADK'd and wielded one of the BEST pistols on the bloodfin server. I remember I was about full pistoleer and healing in medic tree. Then the nge happened and I quit

I loved this game but the only problem that I had with it was I didn't know what to do to lvl up after I finished the main storyline. I couldn't find any other side-quests so I lost interest.

Nothing really to be honest. The game is in post-NGE now so it's gotten alot better over the years, more and more people are coming back, and SWG itself is in fact making a comeback.

NGE took away from the whole MMO battle feel. Everyone I know left for WoW when NGE replaced CU.

For anyone who does not know, NGE = New game enchancements which technically translated into Let's be more like WOW so as to not lose players, ironically it cost them most of their player base.
