breeders are what they are, and they stay in business because people want to buy their cats. I've benefited from a breeder who changed her mind on two cats she wanted to breed/show. they didn't turn out to be show winners and no longer kittens so I would assume hard to sell at more then a year old.

Its a lot like horses, winner's offspring are worth a lot more.

i just got my kitty from a shelter a few months ago...she was a double "reject" and I took her because of that. The original owner dumped her, then somebody adopted her, then brought her back. I'm glad they didn't keep her--they would not have treated her right if they think like that.

She is the SWEETEST, most affectionate thing ever, and makes me laugh every day!

We had a kitten that's head was too small and its eyes took up her whole face, and she was scrawny and mangy looking, so nobody took her, and we were afraid t otake her to the pound. Some breeders keep new litters until they've developed so they can decide whether to sell it or, if it has champion potential, keep it for shows and perhaps further breeding.
