  • Thank you so much! I have posted to Face book page "drbenjaminfranklin"!

  • A beautiful song that was beautifully performed!

  • Awesome singing, playing and video!

  • Outstanding. Definately catches the spirit of the song and of the season. What instrument are you playing?

  • i know the first chord is g minor, whats the rest?

  • @MrMaestro14231 It's Gmin, B, Emin, D7. I'm actually using guitar shapes for Am, C, Dm, E7, but lute tuning is down a step.

  • Not too shabby. :D

  • So well paced..few get it this way.

    bravo.

  • Very nice, I'm becoming very intrigued by the lute, very nice voice bud. Its rare to come by truely great singing voices though we all try our best.

  • A fine performance (the costume was a nice touch). In particular though, thank you for introducing me to this traditional carol- I was not aware of it before just now.

  • sounds like some thin jethro tull would do ha

    =D

  • Thank You... such a pure glowing performance... here's sending rounds of applause at the entrance of the lead of your play then again during your performance (but kept very short so that it didnt interrupt your performance) and again at the end of your musical piece as you take a bow for applause.

  • Thanks for that beautiful Winter song. I've never heard it before....

  • You're welcome. There are many more verses, you'll find them if you google it.

  • What a beautiful performance you make of this song!! I remebered it as nice and wanted to learn it now in wintertime, and you definitely inspired me twice the more than I was from the beginning! I shall play the guitar and sing this song all the winter long...!

I know that there is a medieval country-dance to this melody too. Counrty-dances are fun, so I recommend all intressted to search for it, I can't remember the book's name...

And thank you for lighting up the darkness here up in Sweden!

  • It was my pleasure. Thank you for writing to tell me!

  • Love your arrangement of this song. Did you overdub all the parts? Isn't that fun?

Also loved "Boreas"-really enjoyed the violin against the ambient textures.

If you think the hat is cool, you should see my gown when I'm the "Lord of Misrule".

  • You accomplish that very well! I actually found your video as I was looking for a good recording of the song to work off of for a string arrangement (now on my Myspace). Let me know what you think of it, if you have a chance to listen. :)

PS: That three-cornered hat is super cool.

  • You've an awesome voice! Both stirring and soothing. I've just listened to this vid 3 times over now! Very fine interpretation of this song. You have the ability to make it sound very contemporary.

  • What a very kind thing to say. I try to focus on the meaning of the words when I'm singing to somehow make it more relevant.

  • Formidable!

    :-)

    Chris

  • Lovely! Your voice is perfect for this song! My favorite verse is

This time of the year is spent in good cheer,

    And neighbours together do meet,

To sit by the fire, with friendly desire,

Each other in love to greet.

Although all of the verses of this lovely song are perfect for the season!

  • Thanks for saying so. I'd never heard that verse before, but I'll be certain to add it now that I have it.

  • You have a beautiful voice. I enjoyed hearing you sing.

  • I didn't know a text existed to this beautiful tune. Until now I'd only heard it as a muscial piece. And that was nice enough as that, but now with your voice.... I could listen to it over and over again. I just love it.

  • What a kind thing to say! Thanks. There are a bunch of different verses to this song. I just sang the first two.

  • haha that is so rad

  • Nice!! I had actually searched for this song in hopes of finding a recording of Owain Phyfe doing it, but was pleasantly surprised to find your's! Your lute work is much more ornate. Nice work man.

  • Glad you like it and thanks for saying so!

  • beautiful 5 stars

  • Thank you!

  • Lovely

  • Thanks!
