it's hard 2 explain,even tho ur right, russia's also full of drunk idiots,who'll do anything 4 a bottle of vatka, & if u think i shud be prod 2 be part of that then u have a reallly twisted mind
lol? I'm Russian, to start with, I live in St. Petersburg. Used to live in Spain for a few years. You're gonna tell me I don't know about Russia? wtf? Why would you say that?
La tonta eres tu, no yo, prima. No me cuentes historias.
What do you mean "like that"?? You probably didn't even understand what I said!
I was talking to a girl who said she never thought she could be proud to be Russian (born in Canada or something), so I said why wouldn't you be proud of Russia, and that she should feel ashamed.
There's also a Serbian version,based on the Gogol's ''Viy'',called ''Sveto mesto''(Holly place)...My opinion is that ''Sveto mesto'' is more scary than the Russian version,and upcoming U.S.A. Serbians don't have developed horror film culture,but,when you see one of those rare movies,you will be scarred to death...Trust me...I recomend you ''Leptirica''(the butterfly) and ''Sveto mesto'' (the Holy place)....You have some trailers here on You tube...
Calling this 'The' Viy makes no sense really, it's just 'Viy', the demon at the end. They've remade this and I believe an English version will be in theaters in the US in 2009.
Haha these graphics are hilarious! Can't wait for the new adaptation!

Anybody know what "Viy" actually translates to? I cannot find it..and it's definetely not in my Russian dictionary!
computerwiz10 1 year ago
@computerwiz10 If I remember correctly `Viy` translates as eyelash.
Ralli2Yazh 1 year ago
@Ralli2Yazh Actually, (not to argue with you or anything) but I found eyelash is different..I have a Russian dictionary...

@computerwiz10
Viy (in Slavic myths, a supernatural being that can kill people by looking at them)
Ukrainian 'Viya' is an eyelash (Rus - 'Resnitsa')
It's also on Wikipedia.

@BanderaFighter Oh really? Wow, thanks so much for clearing that up!

By the way, if you like the effects of this segment (the second night), you need to see the ending.
