From a simple standpoint you can just experiment with notes from the C major scale. Obviously when you get to the A7 and Ebo7 chords you my need to add different notes.

Yes, but I can't imagine a good, freely improvised version of this. I really like the meoldy. I'll do the LH voicings first, and maybe try expanding the chords. I'm not a skilled jazz player, but I found a great book that I have been learning from lately.

thanks for your kind comments. I had a basic version of the song in a disney compilation book. The intro is totally improvised whereas the majority of it is a loose improvisation around the original melody. Obviously the last chord is different than the original as well

hmm well thats very interesting as somebody new today emailed saying they didnt feel like they were progressing with mike.

Well anyway I charge £20 per hour and £12 per half hour. I also take block bookings. Its 4 hourly lessons for £60(basically buy 3 get one free)

hmm you wouldnt be the first person to say that about mike. I dont know him personally but he is a lot older than me so should be a lot more expereinced.

I teach 3 people privately that used to go the shop.

I have looked at many videos of this song on youtube and other sites. I think yours has a perfect balance of jazz and the sound of what I call the classics. As a self-proclaimed Disneyphile, I can tell you - yours is the best out there. Your interpretation captures the emotion the song is supposed to evoke. Plus, one can clearly see that you "feel the music" when you are playing. I hope you don't mind - but I have added your video to my myspace page.

Also all my music on here is just videos. I could record sound files but a) they would be different cuz I would be improvising again, and b) the quality wouldnt be that good unless I could get someone to record for me.
