lol diesels are awesome, no intake/exhaust manifold, purrin away like nothing out'a the ordinary^^ lol i just got myself a 89 3500 6.2 1 ton, awesome truck, lil rust but i think she'll survive! i might have to checkout your vids in the near future for reference lol my first diesel! oh for your next vids, ! your music was a touch too loud in this 2 part set, covering your voice!! im sure ya noticed though, peace out~
its not on anymore becuase i found i couldnt install the engine due to it not clearing the exahust manifold... and i never tried to put it back on after....
that is sooo cool! i cant wait to rebuild my 6.2. its only got 278,000 km's on it but its got ALOT of blowby for somereason. im thinkin the previous owner neglected it so it might need rings and a hone job. how long did it take to remove the engine.
yah rings and a hone job would do the trick unless the walls of your block are too far gone then u might need a boreout and sleaves unless u buy new pistons...
and i actually never removed the engine but um the install was 2 hrs by my self.. with the crane you see in the video.. it was easy
and i guess total time from no engine to actually running would be 4hrs after all fluids in and wires hooked up and everything...
oh i bet you have the sensor on the truck for a idiot light instead of the gauge. that would explain the gauge going like that. does it read 0 when the engine is off and key is on? if it does all you need is a new engine oil sending unit or one of the old ones off of another engine for agauge and you should be up and running again.
no main web cracks?? wow. What was that block from?

oh also did you ever fix your oil presure gauge? looks like its unhooked in the video since its pointing at the 3 O'clock area
6030diesel 2 years ago
no i havent got it working
i havent really spent much time on it...
its either iv got the wire going to the wrong sensor or not at all or the sensor is the wrong one...i had soo many sensors and so im not to sure...
any insight is great

yah it does read on zero when all is off...
but yah i just have to trace the wire and its probably hooked up to the wrong thing or somting...
ill figure it out soon in all my spare time ha ha...
im still trying to find time to get a current vid of the truck since my lift and tires and tool box and stuff... SOON i promis
sunfm 2 years ago
yep you have a oil light sender in the engine instead of a gauge unit. i cant wait for the new vids!
6030diesel 2 years ago
your probably right
ill have to check it out.
and yah ill get a new vid of the truck up soon....
when i get off work its usually dark so ill have to wait till iv got a bit of time on the weekend but it will come !
