  • @Mastercorder FORD DIDNT GET ANYTAX MONEY

  • @hougSTAR SORRY YOU ONLY MAKE $15 BUT INSTEAD OF HOPEING MY PAY GOS DOWN HOPE YOURS GO UP.I DO

  • @hougSTAR YA YOU NEED A PAYCUT I CAN FINE SOME ONE TO DO YOUR JOB FOR $5.00 IN CHINA

  • @hougSTAR HATE TO TELL YOU COMPUTER DONT LIFT A 12 POUND CAT PIPE 589 TIMES OVER MY HEAD ALL DAY I DO.YOU KNOW NOTHING ABOUT AUTOWORK

  • @hougSTAR BUDDY I DIDNT LOSE MY JOB.AND WHY SHOULD I TAKE A PAYCUT WHEN THATS NOT WRONG.THE ONLY PEOPLE WANTING US TO TAKE A PAYCUT WAS PEOPLE WITH TOYTOTA PLANTS.BECAUSE IF WE TOOK A CUT THEN THEY COULD CUT THERE WAGE.

  • No justice. No peace.

No green car. No bail out.

But what isn't selling isn't worth buying into.

  • Well, the Union feels they don't need a paycut beacause there is a lot of work involved in their job and they have experience too. The people making $28-30 dollars an hour have been busting their ass there for 10-30 years. The UAW had been making wage and benefit concessions everytime a new contract comes up for years now and the companies (The Big 3) still cry broke. They could make $5 an hour and management would still find a way to mismanage the money and go broke!

  • Who are you to decide what is too much for someone to make? How is the Union greedy for wanting their employees to have good benefits and make a good wage so they can afford to buy the products they are manufacturing, buy houses and other things to stimulate the economy? I guarantee there is someone somewhere doing what you are doing for less than what you make. Does that make you overpaid? Why don't you take a pay cut?!!?

  • The bail-outs are just the beginning in what to come for the next seven generations, this is in the Native American Culture where the money it self is no good, it will be the people that will pay for what the corporate has done. Everything that served on top of your table to the clothes on your back needs to be brought down 50 percent in cost, because the bottom line, the people don't have anything to give. Give the people strenght, food and clothes to wear, then the wheels will start to turn.

  • Let them file for chapter 11 and renegotiate their contracts. It's not that they aren't making enough money to survive, it's that they aren't managing their funds properly. Ford isn't accepting any federal aid because they don't need it. They're going to make it without government help.

GM & Chrysler pay over 50% more in benefits to their workers and retirees. It's hard to run a business when you need three workers for one retiree's benefits.

Bailing them out is only postponing their failure.

  • This is why nobody can ever call Bush a conservative. The Republican party needs to nominate a true conservative - not this middle-of-the-road bullcrap.

  • if your going to to be a bunch of twits and go against our founding american ethics and what this country was built on and all the stuff we were made off.... you would say if they are going to bail out some companies then many companies are going to ask for the government to bail them out. like frank the entrepeneur has hard times and goes under he is going to look at the government and say hey why dont you bail me out you did these companies.oh wait.just because they are huge you do them afavor

  • I supported Chevy in 04, bought a Suburban, guess what. Made in Mexico. GM pay 1/8th salary they do in USA. I was looking forward to buying a 2010 Camaro, then I here they are going to make them in Canada. I wonder why corvettes seem to be the only car they can afford to make in the USA. Oh yeah, corvettes start at $42,000. $29 per hour may not be as good as workers had it, but it is not minimum wage. That is $60,320 a year. Basically 104,000 less than they make right now.

  • the real issue is that when the government gives money to companies to bail them out then they are sticking their nose down an avenue where they dont belong.the goverment wasnt made to bail out private companies and that isnt their job.that is to much government intervention.communism is where the government comes in and steps in and fools around with private buisness. the fore fathers are rolling in their graves now. we are so stepping away from our founding principles and getting far of track.

  • I agree with you 100% and so does the majority of American citizens, that is why the auto bailout is unpopular.

  • Bush shouldn't do anything. Letting the Detroit 3 fail would be a fitting end for a loser such as George W. Bush. He could go out the loser we have always known him to be.

  • He's a loser whether the Big 3 fail or not. The Big 3 to failing is not an option that any intelligent American is willing to take. Uninformed people cry "not my tax dollar" when it comes to the auto loans needed to aid the industry in this financial mess. The foreign manufactuters have requeted financial aid from their countries, why not the US? Get off the Right Wing bandwagon and stand up for America. Southern repulicans are union busters beholding to the foreign transplants in their states.

  • Sorry to say but no matter how much money you throw at the Big 3. Now knowing that average GM workers gets $79 per hour wages compared to foreign automakers working in the united states making $29 per hour. That is the difference, the amount the companies spend on their workers compensation. The foreign auto company plants in the USA are in states that do no require unions. Unions can say all they want but they will always handicap the Big 3 if they don't lower the wages. $29 not minimum wage

  • Nobody who works for the Big 3 is making $79 an hour. That's a lie. The average Big 3 employee makes $29-$30 an hour at the most.

  • is simple. why in the hell if the auto industry is so broke as they tell us. then why in the hell when i turn on the T.V. all i can see is auto comercials. something is so wrong.

  • I fail to see how exactly Bush has ruined our country. That just seems like the popular thing to say even if it's not correct.

  • If the "big three" made cars that people wanted to buy then they might not be in the situation there in right now. For example back in the day GM hired a guy named Harley Earl he and his design team made some of the best looking cars ever these days GM really doset make vary good looking cars, there trucks are ok looking and the Corvette will always look good but not all people wanna buy trucks and not all people can buy a $60000-$12500 Corvette.I sell and drive a Honda because its a better car

  • This is about the most ignorant reply I have read in a long time. Are you really this foolish? A 47% decline in sale has NOTHING to do with how a car looks. It has ALMOST everything to do with the economic status of the United States.

P.S. Whether you believe your Honda is a better car or not, is your choice. That is the beauty of a democracy. HOWEVER, you have done your part in contributing to the state of the domestic industry.

  • I think more people should buy foreign cars to show the american workers that their inherent laziness needs to be reevaluated. Buying american does not do anything except promote the substandard work ethic that is a mainstay in the United States. American cars by and large are junk. Why buy them? To justify the incredible high rate the Unions bully out of the companies? I hope this marks the death or at least the crippling of unions. Their day of massive greed is over! Start the countdown now!!

  • My 1998 Dodge Dakota has 263,000 miles and I still drive it and it still looks nice. My grandmother's 1986 Chevy Celebrity had 349,000 when she got rid of it and the person that bought it drove it away. I don't see how having a job at GM makes a man lazy.

  • The auto industry has their hand out but I am not clear why they don't just immediately sell all their inventory at cost to clear up funds. Oil prices are down and we know that we need a bridge to get to other forms of energy. All these bridges are at least 5 to 10 years away. If consumers knew they could buy a great car now for cost. The savings would outway waiting for a hybred and loosen cash for the auto industry to retool.

Does it take a genius to figure this out.

  • You've got to love the hypocrisy!!!

Congress sits in judgment of these companies, be it Auto indurty officials, or Wall Street Execs from AIG, and complain that these companies are poorly run, and that they need oversight.

Yet, the Treasury Department has no mechanism in place to track how institutions are using $150 billion in taxpayer money that the government injected into the banking system.

Maybe we should fix our government before we fix private corporations. What do you think?

  • i agree!

  • Toyota and Honda are laying people off too. Is that because they make shoddy products too? My fear is that these loans will not put anyone back to work. It would be better were congress to create an auto industry stimulus directed at consumers who purchase cars. Guaranteed loans, tax incentives etc. Consider that $15 billion divided by 15 million cars equals $1000 per car. We could put everyone back to work dealers, manufacturers, and suppliers.

  • Will you look at this Guys History for the past 4 years. What ever he says to do , you better do the opposite. He seems to be dooming the American people and I think he likes it.

  • If he says a cliff is ahead and you better not jump..well maybe THEN I shall listen to him. Right now..his word means nothing but lies!

  • They were doomed to fail because a long time ago they refused to face the fact that americans no longer want gas guzzlers. Should be tough shyt for them unless they change what they produce. Sadly the workers pay the price.

  • "They were doomed to fail because a long time ago they refused to face the fact that americans no longer want gas guzzlers. "

Until gas prices approached $4.00 a gallon that simply was not true. The SUV was doing very well until the huge gas increases of the last year. The US public owns a share of the blame for not heeding the warnings from many years ago that this day was coming. We have never demanded from our legislators that they develop a comprehensive energy plan.

  • the only viable alternative is to MERGE three into one...chrysler goes...and gm goes!!!!!!!!

  • that deserves a dumbass award for the day,I`ll buy a dodge over a ford,a toyota over a ford, hell I`ll buy a fucking volkswagon over a ford...my vote ford goes, the other 2 merge and toyota goes back where it came from.

  • better yet, take all the ceos and make them bailout their own companies and quit overproducing cars! they arent viable, cars shouldnt cost what they do,consumers have forked out money on these things and have been bitch slapped with this industries high expectations,70 grand for a corvette,35,000 for a charger or mustang people shouldnt buy those cars..45 grand for a tahoe=stupid...selection sucks 1-ford,flex stupid 2-dodge-least they kept the minivan 3-gm- their selection was better 5 years ago.

  • Chrysler is part of the big 3 asking for a handout. The funny thing is, their parent company, Cerberus is a private equity firm who has a stockpile of cash and other companies to borrow against, and not even THEY will infuse the cash that Chrysler is asking for.

Let me repeat that. The company that owns 80% or Chrysler won't invest the money that they have into Chrysler. Instead they're going to make the taxpayers foot the bill. They just want the financing division of the business.

  • If BUSH is calling for it than you know it won't work. This guy hasn't been right about ANYTHING. "The Economy is strong", "There are weapons of Mass Destruction in Iraq", "Gili will be the top grossing movie of all time".

Everything about this bailout screams NO from an investors point of view. The congressional hearings are a dog and pony show. Not one of those congressmen will actually READ the plan that they've called for. Just say NO!

  • So not only should you subsidize a person's job in a company that is losing money, you should also subsidize their $30/hr wage they receive when they get laid off? WOW! Is it any wonder these guys are losing $10 billion/month? Quick, we need $25 billion...well, $34Billion now...make that $60 billion...shit we really could use $85 billion....of crap put a 1 in front and make it $185 billion....meeeeeh...it's taxpayers money...make it $200 billion, they can afford it.

  • a big part of the bailout is to pay GM's laidoff workers's - $6,905,440,000 billion dollar a year unemployment benefit bill - on top of the $400 a week most unemployed gm workers gets - plus they still get medical insurance - millions of americans are working full time and not making as much as the unemployed gm workers - why should the tax-payers making less than the unemployed gm workers pay for their lucrative benefits -

  • Are you saying UNEMPLOYED GM workers get 400 a week plus the amount they get from Unemployment?

  • No 40% management/UAW pay and benefit cuts-no TAXPAYER funded bailout. The payrolls could be cut the next pay cycle saving billions of dollars. It is simple math.

  • Shitcan the UAW ! .. and thats just the start, .. I got a brother-in-law who's a lawyer too ... I've watched that dipshit take down $300,000+/year charging hard working people up the ass for boilerplate work that takes 2 minutes to spit out on a computer .. and you wonder why Washington doesn't work right ?? .. check out the number of lawyers in D.C. (lobbyists & legislators) and you'll understand why.

  • But that's supply and demand though. If you can make $500K working as a janitor I don't care (I'd be jealous). What's offensive is if you asked me as a taxpayer to bail out your ass when your company goes into financial ruin.

  • Screw the auto industry and all other Union Labor organizations (home of the 18 hours of production in a 40 hour week) .. I worked teamsters years ago and never ever seen such a bunch of lazy, self-centered, selfish assholes in my life ! Let those $80k/year pampered motherfuckers hit the streets and get a taste of REALITY for a change.

  • Easily to say if you dont have family that work in the auto industry

  • You missed the point ... I could raise 4 families on what those assembly line workers take home ... pampered pricks

  • Jealousy and envy is just sad and pitiful. People work hard for their money just like you. You think the economy is bad now, let the auto industry go and you will see how bad it gets. We pay over $150 billion in taxes a year to pay for your sorry ass in roads, bridges, police, fire departments, social security, medicaid and medicare and so on. We support 100's of businesses that will all go under with us, including foreign car makers here because we will put their suppliers out of business.

  • What I meant was 1000's and 1000's of businesses. With all of the businesses that we support for parts and supplies we are the largest industry in the world. We go under and this country goes in the toilet. We have millions of dollars in the stock market that will be gone. Most of our homes will go into foreclosure and cause more banks to fail. The national retail businesses and services will lose 25-30% of revenue because we can't shop and they are almost on the verge of bankruptcy now.

  • Every small business that is in the areas where there are supplier, plants or large dealerships will fail because we support them. There are 7,500 car dealerships in this country that will go under. These suppliers and plants are in all 50 states. We make military vehicles that can not be made by foreign countries, the government won't allow it for national security reasons. If you don't believe any of this do some research. If congress doesn't give us the money President Obama said he will.

  • Jeschhhh, just like your wages, you obviously have an extremely inflated view of your role and importance to the American economy. $2,300 out of every car sold goes just to pay for some lazy fuck's retirement benefit .. and you consider it an "entitlement". You'd better work fast before the Democrap majority decides the Trillions you believe you deserve goes out in the form of Reparations Checks to the other 'voting block' of the left.

  • I should have known that you are one of those "base" republican, red neck, racist, Nascar lovin, hicks!!!!!!! Do you realize that the republican party just uses you, but really could give a shit less about you????? If you make under a half million they have no interest in you and your needs after they get elected. The only thing they want from you is taxes. But, you are to god damn stupid to figure that out.

  • I have a formal education. I have an associates degree in heating, boilers and air conditioning. I also have a Bachelor's of Science degree. I am a Stationary Engineer. Therefore, I deserve every god damn dime I get!!!!! Do you have any higher education???? I doubt it. My guess is that you are a high school drop out, living in your mom's basement and collecting a welfare check.

  • When you become an economist you can tell me what will or won't happen to the economy if we go down you stupid idiot!!!!!! Foreign car makers are asking their governments for loans also because they are in the same situation we are. GO TALK TO YOUR REPUBLICANS THAT DID ALL OF THIS CRAP!!!!!!!! Bush put us further in debt than any other president in history. Go talk to him.

  • Haa haaa ... I take it then that you can't refute any of my stated facts ... now, would you like a shit samwich to go with that big jug of Kool-Aid ???

p.s. you wanna know why you'll soon be singing the crybaby blues in earnest ?? .. take a look in the parking lot at your next 'whats my country done for MEeee lately' meeting at the union hall,,, even you pampered pussies can't buy American and still expect us to pay your way.

  • You don't fact any fact to refute. You are just spouting off your mouth to spout off your mouth. BTW, it is "us-us-us" because we work for a living; therefore, we deserve a paycheck. When you get off the welfare that I pay for you can say something, that is if it an intelligent something. Us Americans will drive our American Cars to work and you anti-Americans can drive your broke down, piss of crap foreign cars.

  • ?? ? "you don't FACT any FACT to refute" ??(your quote not mine hahaaa)

Ok Einstein, maybe you could translate this into something those of us who count our IQ to the left of the decimal point could understand ...

    thanks so much

    Bwahahaha ahaha hah aha

  • @roscoe85cj HEY TO GET RETIREMENT YOU GOT TO PUT IN 30 YEARS SO I DONT THINK THET ARE LAZY

  • @roscoe85cj YOUR A SICK FUCK HOPING PEOPLE LOSE THERE JOB YOUR WHATS WRONG

  • We need auto, aerospace and infrastructure (roads, rail, ports) to stay viable and domestic. the bankers have caused the auto industries current problem by hoarding the money we bailed them out with and buying up the other banks and various parts of the military industrial complex. this was an orchestrated breakdown and they will build the economy back up in their image after they have brought us to our knees in a depression. there is no left or right, america is centrist. vote your interests.

  • I meant 0:18 ve-HI-cles. LOL

  • 0:20 ve-hi-cles. LOL

  • This guy sure knows how to flip flop his standing on an issue.

  • Bush is merely repeating what Congress said when they refused to put the bailout to a vote without a "plan in hand." But Bush cleverly makes it sound as though Congress was irresponsible, in contrast to his own responsible approach!

  • Hey, folks. If you listen carefully, you'll hear Bush say: the automakers should gain access to the $25 billion previously authorized for "greening up" their business models, and use the funds instead for daily operating expenses...AS LONG AS THEY DEMONSTRATE that they're able to become financially viable.

That's exactly what Congress said when they refused to IMMEDIATELY hand over the $25 billion without FIRST hearing a plan for becoming viable.

  • Americans belong to the flock of Satan for they say nothing do nothing and let it continue.

  • ampire6059, thanks for reminding us that Bush originally said "NO" to an automaker bailout. As you said, "He only wanted this auto bailout in exchange for the Colombia free trade." Even in this ridiculously manipulative video, he waffles on the issue, adding all kinds of "qualifications" and "conditions" to releasing the $25 billion Bush approved for "greening up" the automakers' business model.

  • marniespeaks, thanks for your smart comments!

  • What a hypocrite! Bush had no intention of bailing out the automakers...until the Democrats demanded "a viable business plan" before handing over "good money after bad." Now, Bush wants to look like the "good cop," and make out the Dems as "bad cops." Typical Bushiness.

  • You can go to hell Auto industry. No way!!!

  • He only wanted this auto bailout in exchange for the Colombia free trade. Colombia had been reported of human rights abouses against unionists and its possible exports to the US is cocaine. President Bush agreed to the auto bailout when he met President-elect Obama during his visit to the White House IF the Congress agreed to the Columbia trade agreement. He wants it to be part of his legacy.

  • 2.Oblivion is what USA population will be turn into, a deep self- annihilation pathology and nostalgia for death. USA wretched population in fact now faces Jesus.

  • wasn't he against the big 2 bail out now he's for it. It almost seems like whatever he's for most people are against.

  • AIG executives used bailout money on a hugely expensive SPA TRIP. He expects the big 3 to do no less with our hard-earned money?? Bush and the rest of the politicians should just shut up and crawl back into their limos or private jets and leave us alone!!

  • hay Bush.......Bite me you turd, just crawl of and keep quiet

  • GM wants to send the bailout money to it's branch in Brazil.

They will still bust the union in the US

    wake up people!

  • he changed his mind?

  • worst leader in history

  • They all are trying to rape the USA and bankrupt us....and they are succeeding....where does it end?????

  • This country is headed for Bankruptcy...it is part of the Republicans plan for the New World Order....we will be ruled by one gov't...have one currency and I personally don't like the idea....EVERYTHING Bush has done has been BAD....we are a decade behind on fixing this planet....Damn the Car companies, all they care about is making money in the stock market. We needed a better car and they haven't figured that out...if they did, they would be rolling in money! They ARE GREEDY IDIOTS!

  • The real auto industry in this country consists of the companies Toyota, Honda, Nissan, BMW, Daimler, and Hyundai. Most of these companies employ Americans as a higher percentage of their labor for the cars they sell here than any of the big three. The idea that we won't have an auto industry is ludicrous. The big three hog marketshare that should go to these superior manufacturers, benefitting their workers and consumers alike, and wasting fewer resources for the rest of us.

  • In my opinion you are absolutely right, like any other business, if you can't cut the mustard and you aren't making a decent, energy efficient car that looks good and people want...than you NEED to go out of business and let the companies that make good cars profit....that is what Capitalism is....I haven't owned an American car since the 70's...I think they are all trash!

  • @Zeldovich YOU WRONG ONE DAIMLER IS TO BLAME FOR DUMPING ONE AND FORD SELLS MORE THAT HONDA NISSAN PUT TOGETHER.

  • Give away all our money Bush!!! I guess you figure your legacy can't get much worse.

  • I didn't hear any talk about the Auto industries repaying the money they "borrowed" it sounds like more of a Gift to the CEO's so they can maintain their lifestyles and their fleet of Jets....

  • America must decide: fight against terrorist or the economy.

    What a great president!

  • Bush has tried really really hard.....to destroy this country...he has ignored the enviornment and even tried to make the pollution problems worse, he has ignored the economy and even tried to make us go bankrupt by getting us into a Grossly expensive War, on the basis of lies...We are in Big Big trouble in this country....I hope Bush and Cheney get what they deserve....Hanging is too good for them.....

  • Let the big 3 tank!!!!!

  • Everything he endorses is just a way to pay his friends for supporting his reign of stupidity. He should escorted out of the building and told never to show his face again. He needs to keep his lame duck pie hole shut and go the fuck away.

  • We can't get rid of this motherfucker fast enough. Please Bush, go the fuck away!!!

  • He's still trying though. he's an idiot but it is his job to try until January.

  • Okay, so, Bush says we do it, which means we totally won't, right?

Maybe he should've tried reverse psychology, and told us to *not* bailout the auto industry.. more people would have been inspired to do it out of spite.

  • Bush wants to sell out the country before he leaves. He allready did a fine job. But he tries to makes the mess as big as possible before Obama takes over. He is a criminal!

  • The people of the USA wil be HAPPY ot bail out the car makers. Why wouyldnt they ?

And the Bread makers, the cheese makers, and anyone else who was rich, but has spent all their money, and needs to be bailed.

Its only fair that the poor are forced to stay poor, by constantly "bailing out" rich people, for no other reason, than to keep them rich !!!!!

Perhaps rich people should be ENTITLED to take your body parts, when you die ? Its only fair ! Like a cash bail out, but with your organs !

  • Leave Him Alone??? Leader of first world country takes PLANET and runs it into termoil.

No authority, no quarter, jus let him walk

boy you yanks give a lot out alot of rope

btw I'm an ex con/ can I aply to be minister of the interier

  • Hey, I'm no indifferent to the mistakes that my country has made over the last decade, but don't group all of us in with the massive level of stupidity of one man. The only people who have given up any rope are the ones that keep voting for this retard, thus the reason why voted the other way this last time around. Forget about the historic change, it was a good election. We just can't get rid of this motherfucker fast enough.

  • The first sentence is fine...it's the second one that everyone is dislikes.

  • Go Away Bush!
