And then i look at whats going on Job cuts , companies liquidating .shops closing , but Massive 16 story buildings are being built , cranes everywhere >FOR WHAT REASON ?
The reason I'm convinced converts are problematic is that they choose there belief system therefore they have too much invested in every bit of it being 'RIGHT' those of us for whom our religion is an inherited thing ie cultural are more easy going about it. I hold to the values my parents gave to me whatever anybody likes to label them. Humans seem to need some kind of structure maybe the purpose is to keep us thinking and challenging!
There are good people in every society... My family (love them... they're deeply christian) I went to church when I was young... when I was about 14 I withdrew from religion because I felt that the impact of it wasn't making me happy... it in fact made me angry... So now I'm atheist and never felt better... and it's good to know about the world... outside the box lol
I'm with you in not following any organized religion. Religion, throughout history, has been a means by which powerful people controlled the masses with a bunch of strict rules. OK, so like you, while I don't follow any one religion I take the parts of different religions that appeal to me and use them to shape my own belief system or code of conduct. I use what makes sense to me and ignore what comes across as bullshit. It's always a good idea to think for yourself...
Yes it seems the more we expose ourselves to, with diff types of religion, the more confused we become! But alas a bit more enlightened! I think alot of it becomes traditional within families, and sometime varying from that is a challenge and a godsend! Nice vlog and that tea made me boil water!! Powerof Suggestion...
Islam consider jews and christian as people of book. But due to huge change in religion, and books by human, it reject present day torah and gospel. Quran which was revealed on Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) has never change and still in actual form and actual language.
All great prophets from Adam, Noah, Moses, Jesus are also prophet of Islam. There are 25 prophets which are mentioned in Quran.
Muslim believe that prophet Jesus (peace be upon him) is not the son of God and neither crucified nor killed, but hide by God, in future God will send him to this world. Muslim believe Mary is pious and virgin women and no men touched her.
8:46 to thought about them is beneficial if and only if you could realize that one day I will become dead and then alive by God on the day of judgment.
Thanks, that was great. Incidentally, I'm convinced I learned more about Zen in 10 minutes of Zencat 's post than in most of the books on Buddhism that I've read in the last 12 years.
Why do I get the feeling I have seen this before? Do I dream samsarajade style?
Interesting to hear your beliefs. I'm interested in religion, philosophy and ethics, etc, however I have become apathetic towards it due to sheer bad teachers in the R.E department, except a few. My years of learning about religion seem to have gone nowhere!
I did post this on another site where NutCheese first posted her video, don't think I saw you on there though! And I have mentioned the spirits living in me before. . . if I'm influencing your thought process or your dreams you can be officially scared now LOL!
I had a great RE teacher, she came round to my house with cream cakes and taught me one on one for my A level when I had a young baby to look after. Only down point was she slipped into Welsh occasionally!
OMG this is so wild I was just talking about religion. History channel has been covering it. Yeah it does seem you over thought it a bit. Do you still over think it or no?
See for me the dead people are around me, not inside me. They follow me if what I am doing interests them.
Interesting take though Miss Tia. I had to laugh when Callum left as soon as you brought up telepathy LOL He said, ok I'm done. bye just like a dude lol
I still over-think! But I give myself more of a break on the religious thing. I think I've reached a point of peace in my own mind that whatever stage of discovery I'm at, as long as I have an open heart, I'm ok!
Good catch on Cal! Maybe it was the word 'emotional' next to telepathy that scared him off! As he gets older I'm sure he'll learn to run at the 'f' word (feminism!)
I wonder, are you 'extrovert' while I'm 'introvert' and thus the different interpretations of the 'presences' we feel?
ah you bring up a good point. I used to be an introvert prior to yt. Well I thought I was shy but apparently I was just an extrovert wanting to be set free.
Yeah they run when we get emotional but it's pretty funny to watch.
My religious beliefs come from a mixture of family matriarchs, patriarchs and religious icons and school being represented by both public and catholic high schools.
Henrik guess what??!! I was driving today and that ACDC song came on the radio, it was two-fur tuesday on 104.3 I love it next they played HIghway to Hell. Then two Journey songs and I was in heaven!
An amplifier hmm I can see this but I have a quiet moment here and there. hehe
So, in the words of Eddie Izzard, you believe in "the teachings of Cathol"? :)
The whole "body and blood of Christ" thing has often been used as an argument that Catholics are not Christians, and therefore might be (wait for it)... VAMPIRES!
I have no belief, but enjoyed hearing you speak, even with your funny kids :D
I just try to be a good person, and live life as fully as possible, always open to new things, and be a good husband and father. In life there is the satisfaction of knowing that the ones we loved and have known, will live on in our memory, actions, beliefs and influences. Thereby, Dead people living within us.
They say charity begins at home, I believe spirituality begins and thrives from the self (perhaps with the grace of God, but that is something that doesn't have to include a religion in my opinion). If we live our day to day lives trying to make the world better from ourselves out, it will reach those close to us, and ultimately make a difference in the world.
Me mum's family was very Catholic. The closest my father ever came to organized religion was Church League Softball. I am a former Catholic, and don't play much softball anymore either.
You bring up some really good points here... some of the same stuff that used to drive me nuts.
I'm a recurring skeptic - open to the idea of human need for spirituality and man's need for setting forth rules (which then are re-interpreted in future generations) but in the end I come back to my world of cynicism for comfort! LOL
I always read the descriptions so you are talking to at least one person. Love the kids mugging!
I really loved hearing your insight on this topic and agree with so much of what you said. I remember the video you did a while back talking about Samsara which was right about the time I started to read the Dhammapada. There are certain parts of Buddhism that I struggled with and knew I couldn't align completely. I couldn't find the harm into clinging to something beautiful (and I'm not talking possessively or anything). Thank you for your thoughts here!
Yeh, some of the arguments are just endless circles and get very tedious! Respectful discussion of what we believe and why we believe it without trying to convert, judge or dominate is far more interesting!
Very interesting hearing what you believe. I was raised Catholic also and attended Catholic school for a short time growing up. I'm a non-believer now though.
Well, the goddess has far more ancient roots! And it's a LOT better for us women to have a connection to a realistic identifiable female power rather than deal with what the female in catholicism has been twisted into, it's kind of like female purity in catholicism has to be everything that isn't woman, ie-silent, obedient, sexless and inhuman (after all, the immaculate conception was not Jesus' conception, but Marys, setting her aside from other humans to make her pure enough to carry Jesus)
Those kids present a challenge to my thought process constantly lol! I do believe they dance all over my brains and turn them into mush which they then make brain-mush castles out of for their own amusement!
I was just thinking today how agnostic to me has always meant the absence of belief in any deity, and having no religion. But lately on youtube I see videos and channels that treat 'agnostic' as a religion in it's own right! Seems human nature can't help itself!
Interesting point. Yeah, I guess it's just in our nature. Heck, even "alternative" music has to fit into some kind of pre-existing pattern before people are willing to call it "alternative."
I did not see the nutcheese video yet, but my father converted to catholic when married to my mom. My brothers and sisters and I were educated in catholic school. None of us are practicing catholics anymore, but my parents still are.

there are five pillars of Islam.
1)Faith
2)Prayer (5 times in a day)
3)Charity (2.5% of Asset)
4)Fasting (during the islamic month of Ramadan)
5)Pilgermage (if you can afford, once in a life visit to holy city Makkah)

@ 1:02 - LOL, I think your mom is right.
Buddhism is one of the more curious of the world religions but there IS a lot there to like.
8:15 - YES! That's why I avoided organize religion beginning when I was a teenager. And until something better comes along, I'll remain an agnostic.
Great insights here, and while the kids presented a challenge for paying attention, I did manage it. Woohoo!
