When i was 10 i Started the plane, did my checks, pulled it onto the runway, took the plane off at 80 knots, flew 17 miles turned around and landed with my mom sitting in back and my dad as a co-pilot. Co-Pilot controls were disabled.
Great video. We (grandparents & parents) are giving our 10-year-old grandson, Ties, this exact same experience on Cessna 172 Sp for a Christmas present. He is very excited and is very knowledgeable about aviation and is so confident that he will know how to fly the plane, how to check the controls-- I'm hoping the pilot will be assertive, because Ties actually thinks he can "do it all by himself." We'll see. I'm thrilled as much as he is--I'll probably accompany him -- "maiden" flight. POPO
Come on guys, all of you saying that he's not a real pilot, sure. Fair enough, but NO ONE is on their first lesson!!! I'd like to see you do better on your first lesson, whatever your age!!! The guy is 10, and he's learning to fly!!! To me, that's pretty epic!!
age don't mean shit its knowlegde that counts. laws limit our quality of life for children and restrict what they can do. a 10 year old could easily land and take off an aircraft with training. there is no real reason a 10 year old can not drive a motor vehicle legally if the were properly trained
:3 ive loved airplanes since i was a kid and flew a DHC-2 beaver at 13 and held her steady at 1500 feet and flew a 7AC and held her steady at 2000 feet... im now currently volunteering my days at a municipal airport and all my hours are going towards college tuition and avionic engineering and i want to enlist in the air force after college and i plan on ROTC programs does anyone know how far i will get with that kinda back up?
Congratulations ! ! ! Wonderful ! ! ! My son Brian started at 10 also, solo on his 16th birthday. Check out "cessna 16 solo". He was featured on our local news in Palm Springs, CA. Nice meeting you.
This would be an amazing experience for anyone, however if he is flying at 10 then I cannot imagine what would keep his interest at 20. Maybe the chicks.
Getting a go of the control doesnt make you a pilot, someone els is in command of the aircraft - he needs to start it, do his checks and take off and land to be considered a pilot. Still I wish I was flying at his age.
i love the song transition as the engine revs for take off. very nice video. awesome stuff. good luck with the flying kid! (what language was spoken in the video?)
@glazuna im sure the father or lisenced pilot was right there in the event something happened. there is no "safe" flying, so dangerous isn't the word. it's probably more safe with the kid flying, he'll be very causious and nervous, a it's the relaxed experienced pilot that makes the mistakes..
hey man thats good, when i was 11, i flew a small plane quite similar actually except it was red and a twin engine, good vid and well put together. I really loved the take off it was awesome!
Great video thats great that you get to fly at that age hahaha i loved how his mic was fallin down lol thats great loved it. Also how old do u have to be in the Netherlands to get ur licenses just wadering???
