Thanks for sharing this, it brings back lots of memories for me. I was lucky to see Big Country live many times. This tune will be played at my funeral, pure class.
@slotracer9 - Cheers. One of my favourite BC tunes too. One of Stuarts more open songs I think . . . sad, poignant and tragic given his untimely end . . .
hi dude this mans spirts is with me now i feel him allaround me right now what a great feeling i have i uderstand now where the rose is sown ! jeff the welsh man
Carl, this has got to be one of the finest visual tributes to Stuart ever created, a sublime and astonishing masterpiece of imagery set to music. I have always thought that no song by Big Country sums up Stuart's passing better than this one. Lyrically superb and poignant. The live version included an additional and fitting bridge lyric "Now I find myself, all off the beaten track, with the wind in my face, and the sun, upon my back."
i'm not a big fan of "photo-videos" on Youtube, but this one is fantastic. i never had the pleasure of meeting Stuart, but i still miss him. he was one of those rare songwriters who's lyrics touched everyone, whether you're male or female, black, white, whatever. there are very few songwriters that can transcend "earthly descriptions" and speak to everyone (if that makes sense), but Stuart was definitely one of them. this video made me cry a little.
@CarlBewley: i don't get into the photo-montage videos much, but this one was fucking brilliant. it actually made me cry. Stuart was one of those rare songwriters that touched people regardless of sex, race, religion, whatever, and that's what made him special. as cliche as it sounds, Stuart really did speak from the heart. i like to think, as BC fans, we all have this sort of unspoken bond because of that.
I am crying right now....I can't help it. Very moving video Carl. I don't own alot of Big Country cd's and the only time I get to hear this song is when I watch the Final Fling concert video I ordered last year. I lost all but 2 of my BC cd's in a fire 5 years ago....I love your video, very moving. Stuart would have loved the "wide open" landscape pictures you used...great job. Thanks for posting.

A very nice tribute. I find myself thinking about his kids. So sad that he left them so soon. A great artist sadly missed.

Hi
Glad you liked it! It's a very moving song and I just looked for images that the song gave me.
At least you can buld your Big Country tunes back up on Youtube, there's hundreds of songs on here (I've put quite a few other videos on myself!).
