  • Thanks for sharing this, it brings back lots of memories for me. I was lucky to see Big Country live many times. This tune will be played at my funeral, pure class.

  • Really well done it is one of my favs.

  • @slotracer9 - Cheers. One of my favourite BC tunes too. One of Stuarts more open songs I think . . . sad, poignant and tragic given his untimely end . . .

  • ultimate Stuart!

    Thanx soo much for posting...

    forever in yr debt!

  • hi dude this mans spirts is with me now i feel him allaround me right now what a great feeling i have i uderstand now where the rose is sown ! jeff the welsh man

  • A very nice tribute. I find myself thinking about his kids. So sad that he left them so soon. A great artist sadly missed.

  • Carl, this has got to be one of the finest visual tributes to Stuart ever created, a sublime and astonishing masterpiece of imagery set to music. I have always thought that no song by Big Country sums up Stuart's passing better than this one. Lyrically superb and poignant. The live version included an additional and fitting bridge lyric "Now I find myself, all off the beaten track, with the wind in my face, and the sun, upon my back."

  • @GOLLYSKYWOOD2 - Only just read this..... bit late but thanks! Stay alive!

  • i'm not a big fan of "photo-videos" on Youtube, but this one is fantastic. i never had the pleasure of meeting Stuart, but i still miss him. he was one of those rare songwriters who's lyrics touched everyone, whether you're male or female, black, white, whatever. there are very few songwriters that can transcend "earthly descriptions" and speak to everyone (if that makes sense), but Stuart was definitely one of them. this video made me cry a little.

i never knew you, but i miss you.

  • @catpee3000 - totally agree with that, well said :)

  • @catpee3000 nice words, even for a simple man/fan from holland!

  • 8 years today you left us Stu. Thanks for leaving us with your great music.

  • X well done!

  • Thanks dude, good to hear from ya!

  • Hi Carl! My spirit to you as well!

  • This has to be one of the most moving fan created tributes to Stuart's memory. Thanks for sharing this special piece of work.

  • Cheers, your comments very much appreciated :)

  • @CarlBewley: i don't get into the photo-montage videos much, but this one was fucking brilliant. it actually made me cry. Stuart was one of those rare songwriters that touched people regardless of sex, race, religion, whatever, and that's what made him special. as cliche as it sounds, Stuart really did speak from the heart. i like to think, as BC fans, we all have this sort of unspoken bond because of that.

  • Powerful, stunning images, like the song, like the group, like Stuart... I wish... May fav band too.

  • The most under-rated band ever and years ahead of their time

Excellent video to a brilliant tune and thnak you for keeping their music alive for a new generation to discover

  • Thanks again. Thanks God,Thanks Carl for your inspiration. Thanks for this especial moment.

  • You're more than welcome :)

  • RIP William Stuart Adamson 12/16/2001

  • My Dad died on 15/12/08...Stuart is my hero..funny how your life pans out...like stuart says..Been a fooking trip

  • I am crying right now....I can't help it. Very moving video Carl. I don't own alot of Big Country cd's and the only time I get to hear this song is when I watch the Final Fling concert video I ordered last year. I lost all but 2 of my BC cd's in a fire 5 years ago....I love your video, very moving. Stuart would have loved the "wide open" landscape pictures you used...great job. Thanks for posting.

  • Hi

Glad you liked it! It's a very moving song and I just looked for images that the song gave me.

At least you can buld your Big Country tunes back up on Youtube, there's hundreds of songs on here (I've put quite a few other videos on myself!).

  • Thank you from the deep of my heart Carl.

I was lucky enough to meet the Big Man and i'll never ever will forget him.

    Grazie di cuore.
