@KrazySteev Errrr...not sure what you mean. When You are done pulling the roving, what's left on the combs is only suitable for felting crafts as it is the short fibers. You can spin short fibers, but because they are short, they tend to make itchy yarn. The idea behind this is to separate the long, very desirable, fiber from the short & less desirable fiber.
Great job. A piece of advice. Drill a hole in your table and get an L shaped bolt, a fender washer, and a wing nut. Then you can just go through the hole in the handle and hold it down. My husband also drilled me a second hole in the handle so I can hold it down in two places . . . super solid.
I love your videos! They're very helpful, informative, and fun to watch. You obviously love what you do and you seem like a really fun person. Keep up the good work!
R -- You are a lifesaver. Every time I have a question about fiber shtuff, all I have to do is search for your vids. Many, many thanks. I will absolutely send you video when I steal my sister's implements of destruction.. uh, I mean Indigo Hound combs... and try it myself.
I did some Archery with the SCA but got bored with it. Other than that, no I am not with the Society of Clowning Around. :P LOL (Yes, I know that is not the name...but come on...they are fun!)
Girlll - You're hysterical to watch & your viddies are WONDERFUL! You beat the snot outta stuffy reading / watching / wading thru dull dry Spinning elitest droll. Spinning IS just as much FUN as your viddies demonstrate! Sign me a devoted subscriber too! Soon as I can - I'll happily plop some coinage to help in your happy joyful & educational endeavors! Keep on teachin' it your way Babe! The Dream Spinner
I like watching your video's. These were so informative, I saw the combs online and I had no idea what they were used for (other that killing someone with it, or maybe use it as a gardening tool). You made it al clear to me, in a very humerous way! Thx!
Rexenne, great videos. As a relatively new spinner, etc, living in Scotland, your amusing informative videos really illustrate well things I have only read about or heard people talking about! Keep up the good work!
Thanks so much for the postive feedback! If anyone is unaware, I am doing a fundraiser to raise the funds to replace a RAM chip in my puter that is crappin out, making it impossible to edit video to upload to youtube. I have two more waiting to be edited! You can find my fundraiser page at rexenne. chipin. com/ new-1gig-ram-chip (take out spaces). I appriciate every little bit that helps!
I love your humor. Thank you for the vids. I have a set of mini combs which I find sufficient for most uses but I was wondering if there was a benefit to getting longer tines or 4 pitch combs. Any thoughts? Thanks again.
If you have the room for bigger combs and you are comfortable using them, I say go for it. I would think you would be able to comb more at a time with the larger ones. I just didn't have the room for the giant ones.
Brilliant, Rexenne - thank you so much. There's a feature on combs in the latest Spin Off - your vids are the perfect accompaniment. I'm dying to try this; getting my combs in a couple of weeks. Thank You!
I have to tell you, that you have convinced me to purchase combs instead of carder! I've been watching your video and as a new spinner you provide AWESOME information! Thank you so much and I look forward to more...plus you act like I do, crazy!
thanks Rexenne! I'm sitting here with a bunch of carded wool, wondering what I am suppost to do with it next when I discovered your videos thanks to Amelia, the Bellwether who listed the spinning youtube group on her site. You are very entertaining and educational. Now I am thinking I need a set of combs and a ditz. *sigh*
Love the "eek"s! I'm a goober...or a raw Newbie at spinning...but thanks to you, now I know what a ditz is for! Excellent video and I'll be watching more!
How do you take one and add it to another?

@Gladtobemom Well I filmed this on a small fold out table. I would normally attach it to the kitchen table. :-)
