Many would like to know the details as to what was involved installing the 454 into the Astro. Could you give us any detailed information on that as well as any mod's including suspension,what tranny and if you changed the axle. I'm certain you had to drop the K frame.Fantastic job stuffing that block in. Any footage of it's performance on the street/track? Thanx again for the post. Very intriguing to say the least.

sweet im glad that youve gotten a better video out, i was also wondering how did you get that into that astro. i have a 2000 astro and from the hood you cant even see the engine block. can you only do these big engines in the older models or can you also do it in the new ones.

I was about to buy one dual bracket online, but I will try to make my own bracket. the design I am thinking about is very simple but I will put it to the test.

thats no 350 just look at the valve covers (not the stickers) their too big for a 350. nice astro

@carrabec99 Look at the distance between the valve covers too. That valley area is HUGE. That's a BB fo sho. A/C too it looks like,fo sho. A lot of thinking and work. Wonder what other mod's were done and how quick it is. Must have done front suspension mods for the extra weight,bigger tranny of course along with an axle upgrade. Too bad he's focusing on the stereo and not the drive train. Would like to see some performance street/strip runs but he hasn't posted since 2008. BUMMER DUDE!

no, i meant that the engine looked small. but it could have been the camera angle or anything that made it look like that. how do u know its not a bored out 350? my s10 has a 350 but it was once a 305. i had it bored out

Impossible... a 305cid cannot be bored over to a 350 without horrendous cooling problems... The max you can safely bore a 305 over is to a 315cid without completely filling the water jackets...

you have no idea what your talking about, my s-10 has a 305 that was bored out to a 350.

You cant bore out a 305 to and make a 350. An engine gets its size in cubic inches by the stroke of the crank and rod length then last your bore size. 315 is all you can get with a .060 over bore thats the biggest size you can go on a 305 you also cant get pistons no bigger than .060. Sounds like who ever told you they bored out that shit screwed you and you need to do a little more research on chevy small and big blocks before you talk about something you dont know

The Safari and the Express still kick ass, You can get them with the 5.3 or the 6.6 Duramax Turbo. Just chop the top by 5 inches and lower it a bit, Make a Phone call to Banks for a New Turbo.
