Stretching the psoas is part of eliminating low back pain. However, pelvic instability and improper pelvic tilt (anterior) is the usually the root cause of tight hip flexors. You can stretch everyday for eternity, but if your pelvic tilt isn't correct, you will NEVER have loose hip flexors. I have yet to meet a client with a stable pelvis on day one of training.

Moving the leg medially towards the end of the movement increases the stretch drastically.
