@WVSportsmen I used to agree with you,but I have changed my mind over the last 15 years,I believe as long as you catch and release,its all good.Sometimes you just want to float down the New River without working your butt off on a jerkbait,jig.buzzbait,,etc and you catch huge fish,I mean huge! and enjoy what nature has to offer.

Im 16 years old and have equally used lures and live bait through my 16 years ive pulled out 10 trophy largemouth bass out of massachusetts biggest being 8'7 smallest being 7'4 6 fish on live bait and 4 on lures its not about what you use its about how you use it and the time you put in using it,one more point whenever im using live bait i feel proud when i catch the fish because i know im feeding that fish rather then fooling it with a lure..
@StealthKiller810 ha well why do you think professional fisherman arent allowed to use live bait.....it takes no skill to throw a chub out there and sit and wait for a fish to pick it up....it takes skill to fool a fish with an artificial lure....i personally take enjoyment in fooling the fish and using different lures rather than sitting there waiting for a fish to pick it up....
Last I checked the point of fishing is to CATCH fish. You guys crack me up thumbin your noses at folks who use live bait....how much skill does it take to reel a lure in or jig it or dropshot it? Gimmee a break. I use lures, but I also use live bait and those who don't like it can kiss my ass.

@lukerboyz alot of people are under the misconception that baitcasters are better than spinners. That is not the case. They are completely different rods for completely different things...
I've never caught a smallmouth, it's in my top 5 things I have to do...we don't really have them here it's too hot I guess... OH and that fish is massive AWESOME JOB!

Never had more fun fishing than when I've contracted to fish with this guide. Mike Mladenik really knows how to catch smallmouth!
