@keyna7, I am surprised, though, that more covers haven't been attempted on their songs. I can see how some would not like the vocals, but Pampered Menial is a classic bit of music that transcends the ages. Beautiful piece of work, and if they didn't make much money, I hope they get older knowing the beauty of their musicianship.
Still reckon this is one of rock's finest albums. Intelligent and melodic songwriting, superior musicianship and arrangements and Surkamp's soaring vocals. And moving, on a very human level.
Unfortunately the dude from RUSH with his high falsetto beat Sirkamp to the punch. As great a band as these guys were, they're just wasn't room for both.
How about somebody posting another amazing song from this great band {.MERCY] Ive been a Pavlov's Dog fan since the 70s too bad they were not appreciated more I'm sure there would have been more beautiful music available from them,
@AndreasVar Correct you are. Musicians should make their own 'sound'. Most remakes are awful. And the lead singer can make or break a band. I like Pavlov's Dog because of the unique voice but cannot handle The Talking Heads because David Byrne's voice. Personal choice for whatever reason. Long live the groups who have timeless music but never made it. It is fun to dig through the archives of youtube and rediscover these lost treasures. Like finding a lost Spanish Galleon - though easier.
Being a concert promoter,I had the privilege of bringing this band from their native St. Louis to Chicago back in 1975...They were so under rated and under exposed and I truly thought they were destined for greatness but it wasn't to be...but the music lives on...
AndreasVar, some creative forms are too good to be abandonned in the past. More people deserve to hear this music and they won't neccessarily respond to it unless a modern beat is applied. A modern rework would be a respectful act of homage.
No no, they should appreciate the original. It's like Nights in white satin. You can make as much remakes as you want to, it'll never be like the original ;) It's a hommage (Don't know if that's an English word) to the artist's talent and creativity to listen the original. :D
@keyna7 Those who appreciate this kind of music wil strive to enlighten people about it, without the necessity of a remake. Those who appreciate it upon hearing it will pass it on to others.
Don't you think someone should cover this song, and Julia, and make them into contemporary hits -or is it the incomparable vocal that makes this magnificient.

Now I know what Geddy Lee was listening to in the early 70's.

@surfmcgoogler Your absolutely right....I wonder if they know each other...

@surfmcgoogler This album was out in 1975. Rush's debut album came out in 1974.
Geddy Lee was listening to other bands in the early 70's. Bands that started in the mid-late 60's like Cream, The Who.
