What I want to know is why there are countless videos of the police attacking, but none of rocks nor bottles being thrown. Police are not required to wait until they are actually injured or killed to repond to agression. The protesters were a threat to themselves and others, and the police made a logical assumption that the protesters were a threat, and responded accordingly.

What I want to know is why there are countless videos of the police attacking, but none of rocks nor bottles being thrown. It's like all of the well-paid government employees deployed to repress the protesters can't afford cameras nor cell phones less than 8 years old. In NYC, the police have camera men looking for footage to edit, so there's no excuse for Oakland police to fail their burden of proof.

@venusbrain Sorry. Tear gas is not designed as a weapon. Police did not use the canisters with intent to harm. They used them to disperse a potential threat. Police are not required to wait until they are actually injured or killed to repond to agression. The protesters were a threat to themselves and others, and the police made a logical assumption that the protesters were a threat, and responded accordingly.

The fact that the tear gas was used, the fact the the protesters were their adversaries, or the fact that it was used specifically against them? Also, tear gas is effective because it causes breathing difficulty and eye irritation. How is that not harm? Yes, short-term harm is still harm. There is in fact, no evidence that this person is telling the truth.
