love love love this song !! its sooo paul lekakis sounding (boom boom boom lets go back to my room). miss the 80s so much, for 2 years a trannie was the biggest star on earth - Boy George - 1982 to 1984, imagine that happening now i dont think so ! love your record collection, thanks for taking time out to post it all online xxx
been listening to this track of yours for a while, its awesome.was listening to pet shop boys love comes quickly 12" earlier and realised it was yours too,you have great collection keep up the great work
the best of glasgow bands from the early 80s nice sound of the roland juno106 and the oberheim 12 also . nice old analog synths flipping ace tune . they was one of the best 80 electro acts who could play there keyboards also all there tunes was nicely produced and engineered top banana
This song reached no. 3 in the UK charts in January 1986. It was the time that Jimmy Somerville had lead Bronskibeat to form the Communards with Richard Coles. At first, it was a disastrous move but 8 months later, they had the best selling single of 1986 with the cover of 'Don't Leave Me This Way'. As for what was left of Bronskibeat, they had a further hit with C'Mon in March 1986 and did a collaboration with Eartha Kitt in 1989 with Cha Cha Heals.
Do you know why vinyls are back ? Listen to this powerful sound !!!!! Sorry Jimmy but this BRONSKI BEAT song is so great! thanks for posting 80's real sound, not CD! not MP3!
I just saw Lars Ulrich totally dancing like a HOTT chick to this song on another video...........DAMN!!!!! I miss the club scene!!!!!!!!!! FLASHBACKS!!! :D
hey thx for all the cool 12" mixes. would look even betta if you put the camera so that we can see the record actually playing instead of the front cover.
Wow....!! the last time I danced to this song was at The Palladium club NYC in '87... on Sunday nights was Gay. and legendary DJ Robbie Leslie spinning, great song Thanks for posting...!!
80's had the base for what they are trying to do today. 80's had little to do with are you gay or not. It was about your choice in music and dance if you enjoy it. We had all the good tunes then, and they are trying to find them today. all they have to do is like what they are doing to all the movie's no a days. Get the stuff from the 80's.....THAT IS WHAT SOLD, That is what people enjoyed. They need to find that "perfect beat" for this decade!
It's great music. I saw the same resistance to "gay" music in the late nineties that existed against "black" music in the fifties. House (Chicago and London) I think broke the wall down.....good music is just plain good......
Amen Brother Seagod. I've got so many gay artists in my record collection from the 80's that younger people often pull faces and get quite homophobic! Ridiculous, really because back in the day nobody really cared about the sexuality of the band - if it was a good tune you bought it, end of.....
@death2hiphopnRnB I reckon it's very good, their sexual orientation has nothing to do with their artistic skill, it's a brilliant track that appeals to all, and that's the mark of a an true artist, take any any of the anient classic artists and sculputurers like Michealangelo and his his David, or the Venus and you will know, that skill and art is capable from all.
Gazza, straight guy, father of one. Huge tune!!!! When I met my wife i was in a club and the song "it's raining men" came on. Her and her friends were singing it. I supplied a bottle of budwieser as a microphone and her and her friends sang into it. Some guy jumped in and said "hey buddy, you know what this song is right" I said ya, and you see the broads I'm dancing with? Who cares if its "gay" Hit That Perfect Beat Boy!
I am as straight as a straight thing and love this record! Driving my ford escort (hmmm), with my first real girlfriend Belinda...(hmmmm) , while doing my A levels......SUPER TUNE! no, you don't have to be gay to love this tune, I don;t care what anyone thinks....!! ENJOY IT !!
Thanks for the video! I saw Bronski Beat play a small club in Dallas in '90 or '91--pretty much just Steve by himself with some sequenced synths. I think I was the only person there who actually knew the songs. Too bad.
Brilliant then--brilliant now!

Is this sound really vinyl? Its stereo
P11GT 6 months ago
@P11GT: The sound comes from the record you see spinning in the video.
0x51d 6 months ago 5
@P11GT The earliest stereo vinyl was commercialized in 1957... Technological advancements later permitted to even output Quadraphonic from a Vinyl.
Had to check these info on Wikipedia, but I've already held vinyls from the 60's that were recorded in Stereo :P.

@joel60112 I agree! Deeper and wider grooves on the 12-inch vinyl gave a much more intense bottom than CD or MP3 could ever deliver.

I'm surprised you don't get flack from other users about your name though death2hiphopnRnB!
If you did, it would probably read something alike this -
"omg ur such a fggot, go fk urself un ur stopid musik ghey batty bwoi .gonna set u faggets on fire"
I didn't make the above up by the way, the hate is genuinely out there.
