  • Minxcomix, I will happily discuss each marriage equality topic individually and on their own merits. Once ludicrous comparisons of father and daughter, dog and cats, flag poles and horses are brought in, (a big red herring) it's a hypothetical exchange and like I said, am not going to try and make sense out of (hypothetical) non-sense. God bless you.

  • @GodsSonJasonJ No red herring, I didn't bring up dogs, cats, flag poles, etc, only adult people. If you support the change of marriage to *no longer* mean the union of a man and a woman, but *instead* mean the union of two adults who love each other and desire to be in a committed union known as marriage, then it is discriminatory to exclude any two adults who love each other and desire to be married just because you don't particularly agree with their love. That would make you a hypocrit.

  • Minxcomix, I am certainly not going to spend time trying to make sense out of nonsense. If you are comparing two consenting non related adults in love to polygamy and incest than I think we are finished here. God bless you and good luck with your rationales on the next person.

  • @GodsSonJasonJ Society supports marriage because marriage offers a unique benefit to society. But there is a push to change this. There are some, including yourself, that wish to make marriage not about the union of man/woman and the unique benefits that such a union contributes to society (where there is no discrimination), but rather to make marriage about two adults who love each other, and then to include discrimination as to what sort of love should be acceptable or not, creating inequality

  • @GodsSonJasonJ You sound intolerant towards a love you don't personally agree with. A bit 'bigamistphobic' or 'incestphobic' don't you think? Do you hate those who love differently then you?

Sorry for the gentle sarcasm, just making a point. I understand your pov, but if we do change marriage to mean the union of two consenting adults who love each other, then we cannot discriminate against any type of love just because we personally find it to have an 'ew' factor. That would be hypocritical

  • Minxcomix sounds like a lot of explanation and topic-dodging. Bottom line loving committed adult gay people cannot marry who they love. If the tables were turned I'm quite sure you'd have a different tone. God bless you

  • @GodsSonJasonJ Many people cannot legally marry who they love. Those with same sex attraction do not have the corner on that. Kody Brown can not marry many that he loves. A father/dtr in love with each other have no right to legally marry (BlueMapleLeaf blogspot). Societal/govt support of marriage has nothing to do with a couple loving each other. A couple can marry when they have no love for each other and still be legally married, inadvisable as that is. Love is a great asset, but not a req.

  • @DioceseOfCharlotte , Nope. Children need parents who love them, whether they are mothers, or fathers. It's not important what set of genitals parents have. Kids know that. Too bad some adults don't.

  • @DioceseOfCharlotte I don't see how denying marriage to gays and lesbians will give any child a father or a mother.

  • @DioceseOfCharlotte

Biologically, you are correct. Numerous studies have found absolutely no difference between children raised by heterosexual couples and children raised by homosexual couples. What matters more to a child is that their parents love each other, and love them. A vote for these kinds of laws does nothing but HARM families, and evidence emerging from states that legalized same-sex marriage show lower divorce rates than states with same-sex marriage bans.

  • Where are the fathers of those children ? Same sex"marriage" denies children their rights to a father and a mother. Adults do not have a right to children but children HAVE RIGHT to a father and a mother. Abolishing Civil marriage in NC is a tragedy. We will see this video with so much disdain in the futur. Just adults who do not care about the rest of society. Me, me, me,poor me. That is all I see here

  • @NCarolinaEquality

You do pose a good question. Where exactly ARE the fathers of those children? Did they run off because they couldn't handle being fathers? Did they not care about their children? Did they abuse their children and thus lost custody of them?

Children have a right to a family but a family is not inherently a mother and father. A family is a group of people that care for and love each other. All I see here are people trying to defend their families.

  • @NCarolinaEquality If there is a right to a mother and father who do I get to sue when my father died when I was a child? Apparently God has no problem denying hundreds of millions of kids both parents. And all that "me, me" stuff is what used to be called individual rights. Only the socialists and Nazis argued that the "me" should be sacrificed.

  • @NCarolinaEquality Nope. None of us get to choose our parents. But as a society, we do encourage parents to love their children, and that's generally what happens, regardless of whether they are mothers or fathers.

What's important here is that the children of gay parents are better off when their parents' marriages are recognized by their state.

The true threat to civil marriage is Amendment One. It's you who care only for yourself. Shame on you.

  • @NCarolinaEquality most likely the fathers are in loving contact with their kids, which is more than we can say for YOUR kind of non-marriage, abusive and unequal.

  • Sad time is spent on this. If you don't agree with marriage equality, don't marry someone of the same sex! As a school teacher, I don't ever recall reading/citing the words..."with liberty and justice for ALL" and seeing the word, "except". Separate but equal does not, has not and should not work. We can not "eenie meenie miney moe" through our neighborhoods and point to who is allowed marriage or not. As a christian and American, I am for equality, love, and celebration for all human life.

  • @GodsSonJasonJ There are no rights violations against individuals tho. The "Marriage Equality" mvmnt is about giving rights to *couples*, not individuals. But human rights aren't granted to cpls. Everyone, even felons, have the right to marry. No one has been denied the right to marry *just the same as everyone else* based on their sxual preference. Many with SS attraction have married, inadvisable as it is (since sexual pref. does affect a marriage), yet they are not denied their right to do so

  • @Minxcomix it is sexual orientation not preference...just like brown eyes, blue eyes, etc. You are BORN (oriented)

    gay not preferred....

  • @reidandwayne The point remains the same. Since science has yet to provide facts on the matter I will not agree or disagree with you.

  • Can we all, including the GLBT community, stop hating? The comments about the participants in the video are not helping defeat Amendment One. Gay or Lesbian, it doesn't matter.

  • @drewandnc the lbgt community has plenty of REAL reasons to hate those who persecute them, oppress them, torture them, second-class-citizenship them and kill them. the other way round? not so much.

  • What's the MATTER with people who keep characterizing GLBT rights activists as "Gay, INCorporated?" What a bunch of confirmation-biased, ad hoc-reasoning retards!!! SURE, the recent studies this, OR that, & THEN when those among us who just might B in genuine DISagreement with the conclusions reached by the studies the so-called "pro-family values" movement flaunts, or (God 4-bid) point out OTHER studies that prove QUESTIONABLE REASONING/EVIDENCE on THEIR part, it B-comes "GAY, INC.?" REALLY?

  • I lived in NC for many years and can not stand the fact this measure is on the ballot. I moved to TX and we allowed this same thing to happen in 2005. NC can not allow hate and discrimination to be written into the state constitution-- the one document that represents rights and freedom.

  • Hey isn't video miss some of NC families,, LIKE Gay men families.. I sure there some out there.. This Video is has nothing but Lesbians families.. as usual NC Gay INC Group pick and choosing which families are important.. Included everyone, if not don't include anyone..

  • @sickntired08 I['m] sure you can understand--This video is[n't] excluding anyone. Just like you were apparently allowed to opt out of English in high school, there were no male couples who were available during the filming of this short video, or who opted in for it. Or, another rational thought--watch out now, they're doing separate videos for different audiences. Get over yourself and stop trying to pick a fight.

  • @RushLynx really, yes i made a grammar error, however getting back the video, in every marriage license stunt more lesbians them male couples? opt in r out. MMMM, so did they ask any male couples? no families of color either. then again we all know Gay INC gets what Gay INC wants. like the so-called recent studies where their no abuse in Lesbians home.. I guess no male couples were ask to be apart of the study. And Face it, Gay INC knows society is willing to accept lesbians b4 gay male couples

  • @sickntired08 , you're free to fund and direct your own commercial. Go ahead.

  • Great video! Hold conversations also with those you know will support you--they may not know about the Amendment or may not know when to vote or how to register.
