  • Duran should bring out a 2 cd ballads album. Seriously, they have a catalogue of slow numbers from Anyone Out There right up to the current stuff like Leave A Light On and Mediteranea. Would be absolutely awsome. I know itll never happen, nice thought though. In fairness to the boys, they have penned some majestic masterpieces on the easy listening material.I suppose come to think of it, 2 cds wouldnt even justify the time length for all of them. Oh to dream huh.

  • Best track off 'Rio' and my personal favourite Duran Duran song of all time...

  • @DuranFan09 i agree; I love Lonely In Your Nightmare & New Religion, hell I love most of their stuff; it's hard to pick a favourite. Nick Rhodes' synth makes their sound awesome! I still love this band, I am 40 and they still take me right back to my teens every time I hear them.

  • so silly-but I remember the first boyfriend I had and I drew the rio album cover perfect in my opinion and sent him the note and he kept writing me back and forth on the the drawing. Kinda wish I kept it-he was a metal head butt liked the drawing.

  • Aww Juno6 with bright Flange and Echo FX. Thanks Nick ;-)

  • Oh My Goodness...Isn't it funny how you don't hear a song for sooooo long and there it is and the words come back to you as you sing along....Awesome song and that last pic of JT is bloody brilliant..Does that dude not look like he is so thoroughly enjoying himself :)

  • Oh how I love this song!! Brings tears to my eyes when I hear it though. It takes me back to much happier days of my life back then. The best days for sure!! What an awesome band for an awesome era!! I sure do miss those days. My heart just aches for that time!! What a time that was!! There was a magic in the air back then that you just cant feel today and that is a real shame. Missing those days always but hold the memories in my heart forever!! 80's forever my friends!! ♥

Look at their duds. Did people really dress like that?

Man I feel old. How long has it been since RIO first came out?

  • The album Rio came out in 1982. The year I graduated from high school. I was 18 at the time. Now I am 46. Gettin old now my friend! Wish I could go back to those days. Great music! DD forever!

  • Yeah. I right there with you abacus....

The beginning of the 80s was pretty cool....MTV....Walkmans.....Atari.....and jeans were NOT bell bottoms.

All I can say is...what happened to the time!!!!??? I could have sworn yesterday was 1989.....sigh......

  • And another thing.....I had all of these albums in this video on 33 records!!!!!

  • This is my fave Rio track at the mo. Am trying to learn the bassline - JT you knew exactly what you were doing.

  • Of course he knew what he was doing... I mean he's John Taylor lol

  • Yeah, the bass lines are so defined- much more so than you'd normally hear in a "pop" song.

    JT is the AWESOME!
