@acidorian 1. Are you smarter than a 5th grader? Probably not! These kids are of age to understand the basics of pollution and ecology. 2. It's only complex because you're making it complex. The point is, our health and the health of the river depend on these sources of pollution to stop polluting. The economy's health can be separated from the pollution and can find other ways to thrive without polluting the water. 3. These kids ARE the FUTURE!

Nice work! I lived in New Bern for a while and was quite aware of the sad state the Neuse. The real hit came when I was at a beech sweep. There were some guys from the EPA on the trip. Just out of curiosity, I asked about the Neuse and its health.

I quote "I thank God every day, I'm not working on the Neuse River water basin." I asked with horror, why? "It is too long, runs too slowly and passes way to many town and cities."..... more
