Everybody wants to take shots at Jimmy. Remember Jimmy never was predictable and no matter how much he was smacked out in 77, 79 or the 80 shows he was better than anyone who played around him during that time. Some songs sound rougher than others but listen to Seattle 77 or Knebworth on 8/4/79 and tell me who was the God during that era? Achilles at Knebworth on 8/4/79 was his best solo ever documented and yet Stairway was his weakest effort. On his worst day, I will take Page over anyone..

No disrespect intended, but Jimmy is OBVIOUSLY struggling here and is muting more notes than he is hitting. Seems he could of used a little more practice before this gig. That said, the man is still one of my favorite guitarists and who knows what was up this particular night...just like at the Atlantic Records gig...he is not always 100% but I credit the guy for getting up there and giving it his all. I love Jimmy Page!

@deadbeatdad Amen. Cannot disagree. But, the issue here also was sound quality. If you listen in, you'll hear his guitar and then the drums go from louder more out front, to subtle. The mixing was horrible lol

The 8/4/79 Knebworth show is the Led Zeppelin holy grail, at least one of them. Their performance is slightly more edgy, more intense, better playing than the 8/11/79 Knebworth show.(knebworth 79 was two concerts) Its hard to tell which is which because they wore the same clothes for both concerts. The 8/4 show should be released officialy on at least audio, if not video. I believe this is the opening of the 8/4 concert. This video and audio is stunning.
