WHY does this theme sound so familiar??? I've only just started watching the series and I can't get it out of my head that I've heard something very similar to this before. The very beginning kinda reminds me of The Twilight Zone, but the rest is similar to something else, something I've heard many times and can't put my finger on. I keep thinking it might be similar to a Halloween movie I saw on Disney or something..it's just really familiar and it's bugging the crap outta me!

@belly8900 No kidding, the whole song is creepy but what wouldm ake it even creepier is if the piano solo played during the hwole opening as an underlying song so to speak. SO the song owuld play as normal but oyu'd hear the piano under the music, to help give it a more......ghost-hunter atmosphere to it.

I find it odd how lots of people find Higurashi scarier than Ghost Hunt. Perhaps it may have to do with Ghost Hunt focusing on "ghosts" (the unknown), a mental aspect, while Higurashi focuses on gore - a physical aspect. Myself I've seen too many slasher films to think Higurashi is creepy, disturbing yes but scary no. While it does have a spot in my "most disturbing animes ever watched" list, I've seen too many disturbing things in other media that it doesn't really matter much.

@whokilledmydoggie ohh trust me, Umineko is way worse than Higurashi. excellent anime, of course. I never really found it scary though, gory and suspenseful yes, but it didn't creep me out like ghost hunt did at times.
