  • Who's rig is that?

  • not sure what the fuss is about. these guys seem pretty good but are there that many people that are THAT bad?

  • Wow. Non retarded floor hands. Most of the guys I worked with were shit for brains who were "rush rush rush" and later "die die die". Stay cool, calm and collective and above all else.... safe.

  • i work for pd and this IS the first vid on utube where ive seen a good connection and sort of fast and hard as well

  • first video ever of a normal nonretarded connection... put out!

  • yup thats how its done on a double. fuckin bushing

  • nice job guys!!!

  • Be nice if you had a pully on your stud side tongs...pulls really fast then, just make sure your outta the way. that chain will leave a nice imprint haha

  • Not bad....not bad at all...

  • very nice

  • sweet job fellas...

  • we make up drill pipe with a spinning chain in west texas. No top drive. no kelly spinners. Real roughneckin

  • @robscot971 You take your horse and buggy to work too? or have you given that up for that new technomolology that all the youngins bin talkin bout these days?

  • good for you. you can work harder... ill stick to working smarter.... ( well easier )

  • whats that in the right hand of the driller???.... really sweet connection is it a brake?? ^^

  • @jimandtipy yea the brake handle

  • So you made a connection.....who cares?

  • looks like lill' less on the handle... must be advance 8?

  • use your head look at the pd emblem on the boys, sweet connection

  • is this an advance drilling rig?

  • Damn good roughneckin

  • that is not good drilling practices to open the valve AFTER you make it up in the mouse hole. if they run into any sticky situation at all, then they would have had to send someone up on the tugger to open it, or break it off and put it back in the mouse hole so they could pump on it

  • @Xavnel I know a guy from Excaliber Drilling in southern alberta that died getting tuggered up to do that, hence why they say not to tugger somone on a non-man rated tugger. I dont even know what one looks like...i just make sure im connected really good, he wasnt.

  • Pretty good for sure guys! Not a huge fan of putting that rig bar in the kelly bushings like that. I saw a guy eat one of those once when the drill hit the rotary lever to get the bushing to drop in the table. It's better to get on the other side and use the floor as a leverage point. All in all was a real good connection though!

  • Na man i'd reckon thats a good crew ay, like they not fast and stupid and all over the place, they efficient and smooth. fuckin good crew man.

  • what is that rod you pull out of the stump and put in the next joint of pipe?

  • its a pipe screen to grab any junk that might get pumped down the hole therefore screwing up the MWD tool for directional drilling.

It sucks when you come on tower do your first connection and find no screen.. uh oh.. trippin time :)

  • good connection, and i like the way the brake is facing. quit bitching about the speed, they might be slow drilling, who care how fast the connection is when you are only drilling 2 feet an hour.

  • that there is a fine driller. good hands too! good job boys!

  • skilled driller...

  • fuckin circus rigs

  • I like that, real smooth.

  • how fast was that service rig going when it drove by, wow lol

  • That is a slow connection. I used to work back in the day for Wintex Drilling out of Abilene Texas on rig 2 for Charlie Short(great toolie)back in the mid 90,s. Back then on that rig we could make a connection in 2 minutes. I miss throwing chain on a rig. The new rigs have great stuff on them but you haven,t roughnecked until you have worked a spinning chain. I wonder what ever happened to that rig.

  • what gives I see pd cuvies but the dog house is red? probly just pd hands out on another company showin em how its done!

  • Wow I saw one it's took 4 minutes people said too slow. I saw this one which is about half that and it is still too slow. How long is it suppose to take?

  • well boys, I would have to say BOOOOOOO! slow as hell connection man, looks great though, like the way you guys catch the mud in the bucket, sweet idea me and my boys started doing that. But the time is sooooo slow, No hickups but slow, those damn slow drillers HAHA

  • hi ya, im looking to start working on the rig, but im not sure how to... could you let me know if you have any info?? many thanks

  • who am i to say... but those are the smallest tongs ive ever seen. there isnt and beef behind those. as far as connection time, looks great. thats the way i was broke out and the way it should be done.

  • That floor is so nice and not crowded. I work on a telescopic double and we have like half that space. Our tongs are alot bigger tho, we don't latch them up we just throw them to the ground. Its a real shit show but our connections go MUCH faster then that.

  • Well done gentelmen it is living art to watch that go so nicely

  • those are fuckin hands right there, don't take this the wrong way but you can turn the rotary with your foot sometimes so the bushings are lined up, some rigs sometimes, but I'm not talkin shit, ya'll bad!

  • Good job boys. Smooth. A little too smooth. Smells of a Derrickman & Motorman conspiracy. :)

  • no talk all action

    sweet connection

  • Right on fellas! Precision represent! You know what's wrong with every roughneck youtube video? EVERYTHING.

This one's got it all though.

Real tongs with actual weight to them, you can actually stab pipe, and there aren't 3 greenhands standing around walking through the danger zone.

You should have a tripping video too.

This is the ONLY video to watch for roughnecking.

  • its a screen there stickin in the pipe. keep the mud motor from pluggin up

  • fucking nice. whats that u guys are trowing down the pipe on the mouse hole? a rabbit or something.

and do you guys have some sort of T.I.W valve on the kelly cause i seen one of you guys opening the valve.. nice vid

  • Very nice, Man I miss tongs Iron Roughnecks suck. Why are yall catching the mud? is it oil based?

  • could be introvert

  • invert*
