Wow. Non retarded floor hands. Most of the guys I worked with were shit for brains who were "rush rush rush" and later "die die die". Stay cool, calm and collective and above all else.... safe.
Be nice if you had a pully on your stud side tongs...pulls really fast then, just make sure your outta the way. that chain will leave a nice imprint haha
@robscot971 You take your horse and buggy to work too? or have you given that up for that new technomolology that all the youngins bin talkin bout these days?
that is not good drilling practices to open the valve AFTER you make it up in the mouse hole. if they run into any sticky situation at all, then they would have had to send someone up on the tugger to open it, or break it off and put it back in the mouse hole so they could pump on it
@Xavnel I know a guy from Excaliber Drilling in southern alberta that died getting tuggered up to do that, hence why they say not to tugger somone on a non-man rated tugger. I dont even know what one looks like...i just make sure im connected really good, he wasnt.
Pretty good for sure guys! Not a huge fan of putting that rig bar in the kelly bushings like that. I saw a guy eat one of those once when the drill hit the rotary lever to get the bushing to drop in the table. It's better to get on the other side and use the floor as a leverage point. All in all was a real good connection though!
good connection, and i like the way the brake is facing. quit bitching about the speed, they might be slow drilling, who care how fast the connection is when you are only drilling 2 feet an hour.
That is a slow connection. I used to work back in the day for Wintex Drilling out of Abilene Texas on rig 2 for Charlie Short(great toolie)back in the mid 90,s. Back then on that rig we could make a connection in 2 minutes. I miss throwing chain on a rig. The new rigs have great stuff on them but you haven,t roughnecked until you have worked a spinning chain. I wonder what ever happened to that rig.
Wow I saw one it's took 4 minutes people said too slow. I saw this one which is about half that and it is still too slow. How long is it suppose to take?
well boys, I would have to say BOOOOOOO! slow as hell connection man, looks great though, like the way you guys catch the mud in the bucket, sweet idea me and my boys started doing that. But the time is sooooo slow, No hickups but slow, those damn slow drillers HAHA
who am i to say... but those are the smallest tongs ive ever seen. there isnt and beef behind those. as far as connection time, looks great. thats the way i was broke out and the way it should be done.
That floor is so nice and not crowded. I work on a telescopic double and we have like half that space. Our tongs are alot bigger tho, we don't latch them up we just throw them to the ground. Its a real shit show but our connections go MUCH faster then that.
those are fuckin hands right there, don't take this the wrong way but you can turn the rotary with your foot sometimes so the bushings are lined up, some rigs sometimes, but I'm not talkin shit, ya'll bad!
Who's rig is that?

Na man i'd reckon thats a good crew ay, like they not fast and stupid and all over the place, they efficient and smooth. fuckin good crew man.

what is that rod you pull out of the stump and put in the next joint of pipe?
snowbiker111 2 years ago
its a pipe screen to grab any junk that might get pumped down the hole therefore screwing up the MWD tool for directional drilling.
It sucks when you come on tower do your first connection and find no screen.. uh oh.. trippin time :)

Right on fellas! Precision represent! You know what's wrong with every roughneck youtube video? EVERYTHING.
This one's got it all though.
Real tongs with actual weight to them, you can actually stab pipe, and there aren't 3 greenhands standing around walking through the danger zone.
You should have a tripping video too.
This is the ONLY video to watch for roughnecking.
