I dug this commentary so much. I like your take that Reach is about control. Control the map. Control the power weapons. And most importantly, control yourself. Reach is almost an exercise in discipline.

you say Reach is less forgiving when sometimes you can just sprint or evade away, or ArmorLock.

Its less forgiving in the overall picture. Unless you control the power weapons you lose. No matter what armor ability you have. Armor lock is easily countered. Its no longer a run and a gun game its now pretty much a slow tactical shooter. In halo 1,2 and 3 you could just out skill an opponent by out shooting now its basically camp and control the map or die.

@Artaneius yeah, that's not less forgiving, that's more noob-friendly imo. Camp-fest and spam-fest with the default settings. I hope the settings get altered, especially in MLG, so that less players sprint away when they lose DMR fights.

In real life would you run around trying to "out shoot" your opponents? In Counter Strike would you just run around trying to prove your "hand-eye coordination skills"? There is many things that can be defined as "skill". Try playing any other FPS that isn't the halo trilogy and you would clearly see that just having a good shot means nothing. You have to exploit the map and power weapons. MLG understood this is a different game why can't you?

@Artaneius i KNOW this is a whole different from the Halo trilogy ones. However, as most players who have played MLG settings in the previous Halo games, i just dislike the current settings, maybe because I'm more used to the h3 settings. W/e i'll just get used to them,maybe. However, I have created game settings that play more like h3/h2 on past halo game remakes(more fast-paced)

The fastest way i adapted to reach was i set the controls to halo 3 settings i mean when i try to assinate people its too hard for me to press RB, when i can just press B, way better
