I have worked in soup kitchens, and they do not ever have the protective glass in this video. The serving areas are very low not anything like this. I thought I made that pretty clear by including the date of the cuts to which I was referring, but apparently that wasn't as obvious as I thought.
@MrsAri5884 Walker's Department of Administration has ordered cuts to be made without layoffs, if possible. So it would be the university's choice to eliminate faculty positions or find someplace else to cut. Walker has exempted higher educational financial aid from cuts.

Walker's budget repaired Doyle's structural deficit; it paid back the 60 million Doyle took from Minnesota, the 200 million Doyle stole from the medical malpractice fund. It replaced the one-time federal dollars for Medicaid. etc. Previous public employee spending was not sustainable.

This time of year, I too like to remind people of something about unions. One of my best friends right now is at a luxury resort in Palm Springs CA. During the summer, he has to live in a half million dollar house on a golf course in Illinois. He is only 56, my age, but is retired and living on a tax free pension of only $12,000 a MONTH! What did he do to be able to live on 12k a month paid for by taxpayers? He was a teacher for 30 years. He tells me all the time about how great unions are.

Those public employees who do not like Act 10 still have the right to quit their government jobs. However, very few public employees ever leave because most would not be able qualify for similar pay in the private sector. Act 10 reformed former state laws that enabled public employee unions to almost dictate their pay raises and working conditions despite ever-increasing taxes.

@BadBadMomma My post referred to his cuts ($46.1 million) to funding for the UW system on 12/23. These cuts will eliminate some faculty positions and reduce aid to university students. I thought I made that pretty clear by including the date of the cuts to which I was referring, but apparently that wasn't as obvious as I thought.

@MrsAri5884 Walker's Department of Administration has ordered cuts to be made without layoffs, if possible. So it would be the university's choice to eliminate faculty positions or find someplace else to cut. Walker has exempted higher educational financial aid from cuts.

What is truly amazing about this video is that Walker and his campaign actually thought it would help. More people on unemployment because of Walker, more people with lower incomes because of Walker, more people who need public assistance because of Walker and they actually thought pictures of the family serving the needy would help their cause.

@Sconi71 Teachers' above average benefits enable them to better afford Wisconsin's high taxes, much of which is funneled back into their wages. High taxes hurt the poor and rest of the middle class. Walker's budget repaired Doyle's structural deficit; it paid back the 60 million Doyle took from Minnesota, the 200 million Doyle stole from the medical malpractice fund. It replaced the one-time federal dollars for Medicaid. etc. Previous public employee spending was not sustainable.

This time of year, I too like to remind people of something about unions. One of my best friends right now is at a luxury resort in Palm Springs CA. During the summer, he has to live in a half million dollar house on a golf course in Illinois. He is only 56, my age, but is retired and living on a tax free pension of only $12,000 a MONTH! What did he do to be able to live on 12k a month paid for by taxpayers? He was a teacher for 30 years. He tells me all the time about how great unions are.

@tixmastr Walker did not take away workers' rights. Workers can still negotiate pay and working conditions. Those public employees who do not like Act 10 still have the right to quit their government jobs. However, very few public employees ever leave because most would not be able qualify for similar pay in the private sector. Act 10 reformed former state laws that enabled public employee unions to almost dictate their pay raises and working conditions despite ever-increasing taxes.

It's funny Charlie Sykes, directed his listeners to this page under the guise that Democrats, Union members, blah blah blah are all terrible people. When Sykes is one of the most divisive fear mongers, on the radio today. Listen to his show, he is so predictable. Make his listeners feel like they are victims, repeat "Liberal Media", create an "us versus them" environment. A recipe for ratings. Pretty Weak.

Tell me, how many teachers lost their jobs over the last six months? Weren't all of us supposed to be out on the street by now? Wasn't Walker just looking to cast us all out of our places of work? Otherwise you would realize that the high taxes (to pay excessive salaries and benefits to too many public employees) is what's taking away your ability to buy presents, Think about those working in the private sector who have been paying burdensome taxes to keep public employees in lifestyles higher than the taxpayers..

The CCW/open carry laws are a step in the right direction(following the Constitution) the next step should be to make our state a sovereign state once again and get the federal goverment out of it and soon! Anyone who posts comments here which contain obscenities or words with symbols meant to convey them as obscenities are really pathetic. Equally pathetic are those who spit upon the recall signature gatherers or try to ruin their petitions. Perhaps there will be enough signatures to start the recall, but who will run against Gov. Walker? Kohl? Feingold? Obey? Barrett? I think he wins against any of those. I know its a HUGE waste of money, but once its over, can the Unionistas finally SHUT UP?!?!

What is disheartining is all the profanity, profane gestures and rudness from all you "family vaues" folk.
