  • CANT BEAT CAPTAIN KATHERINE JANEWAY OF THE U.S.S VOTAGER IN STAR TREK,,, LOVE HER,,

  • Engage Warp Factor MYSTERY!

  • if she was mrs columbo how come she went to bed alone in a twin size bed ? columbo didnt get any ever of course her daughter was from some guy that caught her off gaurd bending over

  • Never knew she was a Mrs. Columbo. Cute.

  • When I first caught an episode of this show on one of my 'Columbo' dvd sets, I hated it. Now a local channel (Me Too) plays it on Sat afternoons and Im warming up to it. It just pisses me off that I never see her talk to the lieutenant by phone or talk about him for more than a second. Visit my channel to see the 'Columbo' clips I made from my dvd sets.

  • I thought Coumbo's wife was supposed to be a fatty cause he liked 'em thick. Columbo says that in season 4 episode 1 with the fitness mogul murderer. It's a good bit of character detail, I would imagine Columbo being that sort of guy. And it's another way to buck the traditional depiction of a male lead, which Columbo did so well. I don't think they even payed attention to the things Columbo said about his wife when they made this show.

  • Glinner sent me here.

  • Separate beds, eh?

  • Mrs Columbo is a fox.

  • Bloody hell she doesn't change much. She looks exactly the same then as she does now.

  • is the mrs. columbo series cannon to the columbo series?

  • @BanazirGalpsi1968 No. According to Columbo writer Richard Levinson, "If there was ever another Columbo we were going to have him say, 'There's a woman running around pretending to be my wife. She's changing things. She's a young girl. I wish my wife was like that. She's an impostor.'"

  • @BanazirGalpsi1968

It was a spin-off of Columbo, if that's what you're asking. This show was short lived, as it only ran from 1979 until sometime during the first half of 1980. Hope this info helps. ;)

  • My wonderful Kate!!!

  • This show couldve worked better If she portrayed Columbo's neice, she wouldnt be able to portray Columbo's daughter because I think Columbo said in an episode that him and Mrs. Columbo never had children.

  • I'd like to Falk her Columbo style!

  • Imagine going through life doing crap parts like this never knowing that a spectacular success like Voyager awaits you 16 years down the road at age 39. Life can indeed be strange.

  • i think kate looks great at any age. i would love to see this show just because she is in it. i dont think ive ever seen her this young. she looks great but i think she looks even better in her 30s and 40s. i couldnt imagine anyone complaini about her being their wife

  • Besides playing in Mrs. Columbo, Lili Haydn (the little girl in the credits) was best known for playing one of the daughters on Rodney Dangerfield's Easy Money in 1983.

  • I love the shoes she has on at the beginning! The late 70's were such a good time! If Mulgrew needed work in the 1980's too bad she didn't play Sarah Carter on Little House: A new Begining! She'd probably have been better than Pamela Roylance!

  • Наконец-то ее увидели)

  • Kate: Writer, mystery solver, starship captain, domestic goddess. :p

  • The series itself is good and Kate Mulgrew is absolutely awesome in this... What Columbo fans (like myself and my wife) have a Problem with isn't the show itself (i myself love BOTH shows)... the problem is mainly and simply that at the time Kate Mulgrew was too young to be convincing as Columbo's wife... also you're supposed to never see her...

  • @Supenmanu Actually thats even what Peter Falk said about Mrs. Columbo. He wasn't opposed to the spin off, really. but Mulgrew was too young & sexy for him.

  • @Supenmanu : The producers envisioned someone along the lines of Maureen Stapleton, who would have been perfect for the part. Why they went with Kate Mulgrew I'll never know.

  • I´ve even heard of this, looks like crap.

Anyone knows when to get this?

  • @belledejour72

    When to get it? What?

  • I never saw this series but I love Kate Mulgrew, so I'd probably like it.

  • yeah mrs columbo lived through his stories about her. that's all that was necessary.

  • Totally sucked! A lame spinoff of Columbo. Peter Falk himself completely disavowed the idea.

  • It is on DVD, in season 3 or 4 of the columbo series.

  • she's lovely, but I'm not fully convinced she is Columbo's "famous" wife... and Dog isn't Dog, but he looks a lot like him :-D

  • its janeway from startrek voyager lol

  • In no way do I believe her as Columbo's wife. This is an utter travesty of the highest order.

  • columbo still is the best, but the business & the people musta fuck't it up by makin' thiz show... shame. no wonder, they changed the title after a few shows...

    pomy collingwood

  • wow miss columbo is a looker! i wouldnt mind coming home to beautifull bird like that.

  • @doctorw2

"Beautiful bird"? I didn't realize people who said that were still alive.

  • @iamericwhite hahaha nice one.

  • Mrs Columbo should forever remain a mystery.

  • yes you are so right beside Columbo is Italian she looks Irish

  • Comment removed

  • no not at all but in one epsidode he actully mention his vife doing Italian coking and in another episode he call her brother in Italy thats why , no rasist stuff at all

  • year, just like Maris Crane

  • so it was a show about her cleaning and going to the local barber shop?

  • i never imagined mrs columbo looking like that, just dosen't seem to fit after everything columbo said about his wife

  • Yeah - me too Amyx!! LOVE Kate Mulgrew, I'll watch her in anything. And I remember this show after all these years - didn't miss an episode.

  • The problem with Mrs. Columbo was the casting! The producers originally envisioned someone along the lines of Maureen Stapleton to play Kate Columbo, and instead wound up with the way-too-young Kate Mulgrew. They somehow got the go-ahead for a second season and changed the show's name to Kate Loves a Mystery, but by then who gave a crap?

  • If I would've known, I sure as HELL would've "given a crap."
