  • Love the trick :D the tutorial helped a lot!!! One question though. . . What type of cards are those? ( I love the joker bunny :D )

thank you for this -not hard but- so effective flourish =)

  • Wtf.

  • I just found out my ghost deck is warped :(

  • that was amazin!

  • MHmmm KFC!!

  • thanks man, this is great stuff! people just need to realize that life doesnt cater to them, and that youtube has this magical way of being able of going back to a certain section of the video by the person's desire!

  • Very nice, if you do more movies like these please message me the link!!

    5/5

    card power!!

  • nice !

  • Nice!!!! 5/5 + 1 subscriber!!!

  • Nice!!!! 5/5 + 1 subscriber!!!

  • Hha.. About the fast-slow motion(watever), this is slow already. You should watch another flourish tutorial on youtube first before you watch this. Then, this tutorial will be slow.

  • excellent cards, love the little bunny <3

    i got these ones too!

check out my poor video, not compared to this one, but still cool (i think)

    =D

    Aladdin 1001 FTW!

  • lol...

i think tat is a gud tutorial...

    ferget bout the guy...

    nice flourish ^^

  • cool; simple to do yet very effective

  • omg js watch the video again its a fking free tutorial.

  • @kevhonline why watch it again if im trying this at the same time im watching? lets put the cards on the table replay the vid like 6 times then we can practice, right?

  • All I'm trying to say is, if you're asking me to do the moves slower, I'm not going to cater to you and re-do a video I made four years ago even though most of the other people who've seen this can learn the move just fine.

There's a certain amount of effort that goes into learning a move, and when a lot of us were starting out in the early 2000s most of the learning resources didn't even have slow-motion recaps of what was going on so you could catch up.

Granted, when my group and I will be putting out new tutorials in the future, we'll make sure to teach the items covered at a pace that's easy to follow, even for the uninitiated. But for a 1:31 clip that you can play over and over again (and even pause!) that's available for no cost whatsoever, no less, I hope it's understandable why any sort of dismissive hostility isn't very appreciated here.

  • @kevhonline You are my hero. btw this was one of the firsts cuts I learned when I started in 2008. I feel a little of nostalgia :D

    -Miquel

  • @kevhonline ive been waiting for someone to say that for a long time! good on you mate!

  • @schmidtalfred Its not hes fault that you cant handle cards.

  • @schmidtalfred did you write this comment at the beginning of the video, he repeats everything from a fppov and slower

  • @schmidtalfred Are you stupid? I am a magician, I very rarely do flourishes, and this was the VERY first flourish I learned. In fact, everything he had put up those 5 or so years ago, I learned them, keeping in mind I had no experience with card manipulation.

Kevin provides some of the best flourish tutorials on youtube, teaching thousand of people. What is your problem? A little constructive criticism is one thing, but you need to shut the fuck up.

  • what deck is that?

  • @SMOKEnMIRRORS808

    Aladdin 1001 Playing Cards

  • fantastic

  • this is a really good beginning flourish, i have never before done flourishes and i mastered this in a couple of minutes.

  • super tutorial! ist damit super zu lernen !

  • the is the only official flurish i can do. It is good for beginers. easy flourish that looks nice when do fast.

  • this is an awsome cut good for beginners thnx kevin

  • Why just beginners?

  • Mind if you give a tutorial on the bonus ideas?

  • it looks so hard but its actually easy!!!!...great video!

  • kev i got this down very good but any tips on how to get faster? cus i do it alot and still can't get faster :(... +1 suscriber :)

  • Hi AxxeelR8,

The key to getting this down 'fast' is to get it smooth first. In other words, don't rush to do a choppy, speedy flourish, but rather begin by making sure your grips and transitions within the flourish are correct, preventing any hesitation or 'lag' during the execution of it.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • great stuff, mind giving song name?

    +1 subscriber

  • Thanks! The track is "Public Service Announcement" by The Bravery, off of their self-titled album "The Bravery".

    -Kev, The Virts

  • easy flourishes. :)

  • wooohohoh i learn it! cool tricks tanks!!!!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • last one ausome

  • umm kevin, wat is better?

    alladins or tally-hos?

    plzz reply

  • It really depends on how you handle your cards, really.

Aladdins are great for cuts because of their stiffness and thickness, but are harder to fan because the finish isn't exactly optimized for smooth fanning.

On the other hand, Tally-Ho's are more well-rounded in either department, making it easy to do springs, cuts, fans, spreads and other wonderful things with the deck. Yay.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • and in the system vault you made the molecule 2, false sybil, and mary jane combo, right?

  • Yeah, the SVM Combo was something I filmed and taught a while ago. Neat routine, haven't done it in a while - been working on a lot of new stuff.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • oh yah, cuz i hav it and like always do it, can you tell me the song you put on the svm video.

and also, i learned the false sybil by dan and dave completely, i can put it on youtube, but i'm having trouble doing the false sybil fast like you or dan and dave. can you give me tips and tricks to be really fast while doing any kind of flourishes?

    plzz reply

    -Ashraf

  • The song is "Ms. Jackson" by Outkast.

As for tips on getting faster with flourishes, my team Virtuoso and I will be covering this in the tutorials & articles soon to be on our new site. Stay tuned to our channel, TheVirts, to get notified of when it's up.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • awsome man, thanks alot!

  • I just looked at the title and I was thinking... Kentucky Fried Chicken???

  • Excellent! It's all going according to plan...

    -Kev, The Virts

  • oh I feel like eating KFC for lunch today...lmao

  • alladins from beginner to pro huh kev ;)

  • Aladdin 1001 Playing Cards, mostly available in Asia.

    -Kev

  • whats the name of the song

  • hey thanks

  • The cut is awesome Kev teehee

  • i can never get the slieght of hand for the last one man....lol

  • Thanks alot for the tutorial, but the last bonus idea was too fast haha ;)

    Cheers

  • So it's true - the hand *is* quicker than the eye!

    -Kev, The Virts

  • Damm it! haha^^

    Cheers

  • Pretty good. Not too hard but it looks good full speed.

    5/5.

  • lol finanallyl one i can kinda do thanks man all of ur tuts are great im just a slow leanrer thanks

  • Think *that's* hard? Try this one:

    tr[dot]im/1dxp

    -Kev, The Virts

  • hey Kev what's tr[dot]im/1dxp

  • It's actually a link. Since Youtube doesn't allow links in comments, a common way around that is to replace the . in the URL with [dot]. So all you have to do now is to copy the link into your address bar, switch the [dot] back to a . , and you'll be able to access the link as such.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • thats ledgend

  • i can do this, only im hecka slow at it lol

  • I want chicken.

  • Hehe, You are so sick talentet

  • KFC?

is it Kentucky Fucking City tutoriaL?

  • Put a tut for the second bonus idea lol, that was sick.

  • I'm not big on flourishes, I am pretty strict to magic, but this (and your Ragnarok 2) are flourishes I make an exception for. Very nice.

  • awesome

  • lol i dont like those alladin cards...not long lasting are they?

  • Depends on how you use them. They usually last me about 3-4 weeks a pack, even under strenuous handling.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • thats good. I standard back of bikes usually last me only 1-2 weeks.

  • What? KFC? Kentucky Fried Chicken tutorial?

  • lol a bunny !!!

    XD

  • what deck of cards is that?

    with a cat like joker!

  • The cards are the non air-cushioned Aladdin 1001's. And yeah, the jokers are pretty trippy... two gnomes cracking open an egg only to discover a bunny rabbit inside. And one of them has an acorn stick!

    -Kev, The Virts

  • so basiclly smooth finish?i want to get some.and one more thing are they good for humid and hot places, because i have sweaty hands alot so is this a good deck for me?

  • LOL Public Service Announcement is a good song.

  • this looks really cool when down fast

  • And i thought theres some food in here... KFC *_*

  • awsome dude the best cut out wat cards were dey thinkin of gettin ultra gaff with 3 dvds worth it?¿?plz say about $89 (about 45 pounds)

  • Thanks a heap for this tut!

  • i like ur way of making tutorials.. first great camera angel and i like the bonus ideas.. keep em coming

  • very nice

  • Or Kentucky Fried Chicken

  • do u use this flourish like all the flourish tutorials in ur vid ?

  • I actually don't use a lot of the flourishes that I teach. Usually when I post a move up as a tutorial, I've 'retired' the cut to public use... hehe.

    -Kev, The Virts

  • awesome, ill try the extra ideas

  • whats the song?

  • it reminds me of the tikki cut i love it favorited XD

  • You are really good flourisher ;) And this flourish, old but still awesome! One of my favorites ;)

  • its aladin he answerd it many timeS B4

  • what is the name of the cards?

  • tyvm!

  • Hey man,

I thought you might open with a molecule 2. what do you think.......

    Barry

  • Hey man.. I remember when these videos FIRST came out.. man.. Fit showed me to your site because I wanted to learn two-handed cuts... I probably still have these on a CD Somewhere in my closet =P

  • Haha... yeah, these go a loooong way back. In fact, this particular KFC tutorial is the third version of it. The first one came out in 2004, then I re-shot it with a white background in 2005, and then proceeded to re-do it once again with better teaching and bonus ideas in 2006.

    Daaaaamn.

    -Kev

  • Yeah I don't remember the bonus ideas being on there... I'm pretty sure I saw the second one that you made... good times...

  • what cards are they?

  • Non air-cushioned Aladdin 1001 playing cards. Easy to find in Singapore, but not so much in other countries.

    -Kev

  • I wonder how much times have you answered that question?

  • Haha... I have no idea either. I should just make a FAQ and have that be the only question :D

    -Kev

  • So what cards are those?

Just kidding. Great videos, especially portable playground.

  • lol nice...i liked that bonus part too :]

  • umm,im doing this with opposite hands compared to you,and uhh,the weird lifting with 3 fingers seems very odd.

  • O.o

  • No problem, dude - I try to help people when I can ;)

    -Kev

  • Yup.

    -Kev

  • great cut!

  • 5 stars i liked the pouns keep it up hot

  • keep up the flourishes man.. simple yet elegant

one of the few good tutorials on the internet.

  • i kind of moded your flourish at 42: .. instead of placing it on the other side i fliped it over like the last one

  • Kev, I noticed that the last Bonus Idea you gave actually doesn't preserve the packet. So...it's not a false cut unless you flip the left packet onto the right at the very end instead of vice versa. Any thoughts?

  • a better site than youtube to learn these is decknique dot net, go there and check out allan d who does great ones that are relatively easy

  • this is probably one of the best flourishes I've seen other than the crazy one's that seem nearly impossible! keep it up! :]

  • This is great! There's a small handful of you guys that have great flourishes like this, so thanks for sharing some of your moves! Love to watch these :)

  • very cool how long did it take u to learn

  • I first came up with this move near the end of 2003. It went through various tweakings and modifications, and the video you now see is me after about one and a half years of performing it. I hardly do it any more, but I'm glad some people have taken quite an interest to it.

    -Kev

  • You are ridiculously good at these! :) Thanks for sharing!

  • excellent tut buddy (Y)

  • Nice flourish. Thanks for the tutorial.

  • wat kind cards are those

  • Aladdin 1001 Playing Cards, mostly available in Asia.

    -Kev

  • we're not worthy!..we're not worthy!..(bowing down..head bleeding)

  • im ur fan *-*~

  • first creation? damn, that looked pretty good for your first made cut!

anyways, i loved it, thanks for another slick cut

  • your good GOOD JOB

  • nice!

  • dude u move very smoothly...its wicked...oh grats on the featured vid @DnD it was awesome hopefully with alot of practise i will flourish like that someday :P

  • Again, top notch. Thanks!

  • top banana!

  • Thanks man. Keep up the good work!

  • you rule

  • Nice handling. You should make more vids. And thanks for the tutorial... :)

    Fuzzybuddy

  • thx great tut

  • how ever do u keep the cards so still
