The beginning to this tune is identical to that of "Laughing Samba", or slightly different? Either way, it's an awesome opening!

Yes, that's right. The rhytme section sets up the groove, that happens to be the same and in the same key. Only after bar 3 of the theme the chords starts to differ.
Sometimes I don't even mention the title, just set up the groove and wait which one the horns want to play. Often we let Selena decide, when she starts in the 6th position, we know it's Nassau!

We would love to play in the US again. Alas I don't have any connections with organizers from Festivals or concerts in your country.
If there is a possibility, we will certainly take the plane.
