It was already said animals are NOT needed in research. They do not have the same things as humans so it won't work. Someone I know got medication that was testing on animals and she had a bad reaction to it as when she had a natural medication it helped her. Also they have cloned human things so they can test on that and not poor animals. So people saying it's right to test on animals, it's useless

If you think about it, if we stop eating meat all of a sudden, the animal population will increase to the point that it might even cause overpopulation. It was already said animals are NOT needed in research. They do not have the same things as humans so it won't work. Someone I know got medication that was testing on animals and she had a bad reaction to it as when she had a natural medication it helped her. Yeah...PETA is crazy. I think animal ABUSERS need to strung by their toes and dipped in oil but abusing animals does not mean keeping them as pets or eating a hamburger. Hunting an animal to EXTINCTION is wrong and hunting an animal for fun and then leaving it to rot is wrong. If you're going to eat the animal then yes that's fine but otherwise there's no reason for it. But PETA just goes over the top and goes insane. So if you neuter or spay a dog, would this be violating the animal's rights to have sex or would be in the greater good to prevent unwanted pets? Are you violating a dog's right to roam freely if you walk it off your property on a leash, or would it be better to have it rummage through garbage or get hit by a car? Honestly, I think PETA's intentions are good, their trying to stop the cruel labor of animals, and I agree with them that animal testing is wrong, no matter what the doing it for, even aids, its unfair. Their are other effective ways to test products.

@chesneydann Screw the animals we need to save ourselves before we even think about saving others. If a cure for something like AIDS cost the lives of a hundred thousand animals, it would still be an amazing success. Human life is the most precious thing. Almost 2 million HUMANS died of acquired immune deficiency syndrome in 2009 or 'aids' as you call it. If we could save them it would be worth any animal cost. And by the way, AIDS is not a man made disease. It is caused by a virus. HIV.

Animal testing has helps us in the past for certain medications and diseases, it find it sad that people would put an animal before a human life when it comes to medical issues. Dont get me wrong i do oppose to animal abuse and cruelty, like how they kill animals for food and clothes when it can be done in a much painless and careful way. But its to help save a human life then im all for it.

SOME DO, but they eventually get caught unless they reside outside the US in that case its out of our jurisdiction. Humans were made to eat meat and Veggies and we have the choice for both...its the same with other omnivorous animals...Just eat what you want but don't attack the other person for their choice

How is it evil to test things that can save countless human lives on rats that have a billion babies every year?
