I had the honor of meeting Jake when I worked at Town & Country Airport. He was such a great guy. He kept him plane there and commuted back and forth. He will be missed. Prayers to his family! Such a huge loss.
Jake Jenkins, the man with the mandoline, past away today. He was with loved ones doing something he loved. He will be missed by many. I hope I hear him playing someday instead of Peter playing some trumpet. It would be a long journy to find a better man.
One of the fondest memories I have is of standing by Jake on stage at the FFA National Convention in Houston, Texas as he played banjo and sang Long Hard Road and Mississippi Squirrel Revival. Rockdale FFA won the National Talent contest that year becasue of his talent. He is simply great, and seeing his face here makes me smile.
Wow you are in Lubbock? I am up around Abilene...so im not too far from ya...and I love pizza....deliver me one? Oh and bring that cute fireman with ya ! lol

You should see him play the banjo! He used to be with The Karl Shiflett & Big Country Show.

I'm still working on how this relates to the vid you replied to, but nevermind. :-)
Jake has definitely had his hands on more than one mandolin. I'd love to hear him cut loose!
