  • The street, the lamp, the drugstore, nigth.

    The growing dim and stupid light.

    A quarter life's been living out

    What comes around goes around.

    You die and start this all again.

    The things will be the same as then:

    Cold rippling water, dark cold night,

    The street, the drugstore, dim lamp light.

  • The night, the street, the drugstore, water.

    The lantern's light is senseless, fake.

    Your life will last another quarter

    Of dismal age, with no escape.

    Then you will die and start again. All

    What was before — all will repeat;

    The night, the ripple of ice-cold canal,

    The lantern, the drugstore, the street.

    Alex Sitnitsky
