  • There are more than eight different varieties of Archimantis in Australia. On close inspection of your video, I'm unsure as to whether it is a Latistyla sp. Compare the wing to abdomen ratios as well as the genitalia to the insect in the video response by DAT28C. These are two different insects IMO. Your thoughts?

  • Several years ago (30+) I watched as one cleaned off a large wasp nest with procision. It was the largest mantis I've ever seen... Easily 10" long and by the size of it's abdoman... It liked beer.

    There was a PBS prog with one trying its best to eat / de-populate a bee hive... It was filmed with a high speed camera... Manta's are prety darn fast when they're

    mis-bee-hiving.
