  • Nell is seriously too good for mainstream kpop, their music is so soulful. hardly do i come across a korean mv with such a shamefully true, but blatantly ignored, message. i'm excited for their comeback!

  • i like this :) a nice song ^___^ , im so sick now it is just well music to my ears ahaha xP

  • I love this MV. speaks so strongly as to what is going on now. <333333 Nell.

  • That audience sucks! Ungrateful bastards! LOL It is so awesome when he flips off the camera

    I love this song :)

  • Nell <3

  • I love snsd, sistar, big bang, Kara, etc ,as much as any k pop fan, but I have to say, this is the type of music that "sticks" for me. All artists should be given what they're worth..idols or not. Nell, hwaiting!

  • music for the ears!!!!!

  • On en voit une on en a vu 10 000 !

  • It's funny how people voice out their distaste for mainstream Kpop music when it's basically the thing that brought them to anything K-music related. It's easy to say how you think one song is better than the other but it's never nice to say a person's work is trash. After all, they're all artists. Mainstream or not.

  • Oh, sure. They are ARTist just because they only try to appeal their fans with flashy clothes and stupid lines, only for fame /sarcasm. That's not art, if you know. Anyway, people from the 90's says no to your first statement. Even though idols existed at that time, they weren't that pretentious as nowadays.

  • @angeluis23 Well if that's what you think then feel free. However, there's this thing called respect and appreciation. People do what they do cos others appreciate it. It's always been a banter on who are the real artists and who're not. I say, let's leave them be and enjoy what suits us best. I for one enjoy everything that sounds pleasant to my ears. Mainstream k-music or not, western or even Hindu chants. It all depends so yeah.

  • physical beauty is the only element that mainstreams look for in Korea, which makes them forget the beauty of music in the music industry

  • sometimes k-indie is much much better than k-pop, they deserve more recognition

  • I love Kpop, but I'm so glad getting to know this artist. Finally some real sense making, deep and good music. Lyrics people can relate too and actual instruments. So happy there are artists who really make music for the music! <3

  • This is too good . This song makes me wanna cry, probally because I cant understand it, but it sounds sad and mellow lol

  • I love idols for their personality, but I love Nell for their MUSIC.

PS. korea actually has quite a number of great bands. you just have to get away from the mainstream to find it. (to anyone who tells me CNB/FTI/Trax is a great band, i laugh in your faces)

  • @patrick4091a i dunno, i think cnblue's pretty good. and jay from trax can sing. can you recommend some then?

  • @LuckyB107

    I'll post the band recommendations first since yt isn't letting me post my other comment >_>;;

10cm, Donawhale, Dear Cloud, Hot potato, The Breeze

    ^_^ enjoy~

  • @patrick4091a haha I definitely do the same when people say CNB/FTI are good for 'idols'.... like really? LOL

  • Nell where are you!!! come back please!! Korea and the world needs some proper rock!!!

Fuck there isn't even a rock category anymore in korea music awards

  • @luvthestar Their first comeback show is at Grand Mint Festival 22-23rd Oct 2011

  • @seraphism91 really thanks for the update!!

  • @luvthestar heee In the Army?

  • i love the end !

  • This music reminds me of some really great Japanese bands, way different sound compared to other Korean pop groups I've heard. I like it.

  • @Akirakun17 thats cuz this isnt pop music :p korean doesnt have alot of good rock band most are really poppy but on the other hand though j rock is awesome their pop music shouldnt even be called music. So Nell is really far away from mainstream music. in korea

  • @TheKwangBang I agree, I am new to the Korean music scene so all I really see advertised is bubblegum pop groups soo I was really glad when I found Nell, they're very good, an isntant favorite. ^_^

  • I've been criticizing Korea's mainstream music for years now and this music video has given me hope. Cmon Korea people. Start listening to good music!

  • @DavidChoiDrumz again i disagree. if you wanna hear more rock listen to japanese music. i definitely think korea is heading the right way in terms of their rap/hip hop/ R&B

  • @yupmonk3yzrul3

I have to be honest with you. Korea's rap, hip hop, and R&B is real weak, especially rap.

  • @DavidChoiDrumz nope. unless you're trying to say that there arent many rap artists compared to pop artists, then that's true. however rap is continuously growing in korea and there are some amazing korean rappers surfacing. that's why i'm saying that they're heading the right way in terms of rap/hip hop/ R&B

  • @yupmonk3yzrul3

    Whatever you say.

  • Nell was under Taiji's company until they became independent. Taiji is responsible for spreading rock in Korean culture. Taiji is also the beginning of K-pop

  • thank god for SEOTAIJI !

  • Korean rock is not big? Sure, not as big as it could be but it still is big.

If you don't know, search up Seo Taiji. He is the father of Kpop and he is also probably responsible for brining Krock this far. I'm pretty sure Nell was influenced by him as there is even a video with them performing together.

  • I didn't know there was a korean band that made this kind of music until I heard this.

  • lol kkkk

  • lol kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • Hell yeah you STICK it to the Korean MAN

  • Yay for real music!

  • Elle est nul cette chanson!

  • @abenreguig c'est l'une des plus belles chansons de Nell !!!

  • the BEST music video i have ever seen in my whole life. Teaches, and comparable stuff to our lives

  • Wowowwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Melodia para mis oidos, q buena musica

  • that middle finger was not censored lol

  • they are soooo under-rated when they actually make goood music.

  • Chords I think...

    Intro- A E A E

    Verse - A E A E

    PreChorus - A Am

    Chorus - E Am C#m B A

    Happy playing

  • this is very nice!

    like it!

  • i loved that him and BoA worked together

  • xDxassssssssssssssssssssssfffffffff

  • absolutely love this song!

  • Why do people who like this, hate on mainstream music, come on, its not like guys in boybands cant sing or dont have talent or whatsoever.

  • @NYX8Kon I think it's probably that this music is so different from the mainstream music and makes people realize that there's something else than only love songs and the type which usually overflows the asian music industry. Having songs like these that usually take a whole different stance is appealing to those who don't like/like less the mainstream music that's always harrasing ppl on the radio and media 24/7. It's nice to listen to music that have another message than what all others have.

  • @nadezico That is true o-o but mainstream music isnt bad o-o maybe the lyrics are all the same but <.< i dont understand any asian language anyway<.< and miyavi is mainstream but has some pretty awesome/meaningful songs o-o and more artists but its almost 4am i dont want to think xD

  • @NYX8Kon I can't actually agree that Miyavi is mainstream. Or wait, for Japan he may be mainstream, but that doesn't count for the major part of Asia. Ballads are typical in Asia. There are many artists/groups/band that don't go mainstream in Asia, but they are not the most popular ones. At least not like what I can see! Rock, punk and metal genres are not too popular, that's why it's nice to be able to see that they do exist and comes with a different message in their songs :)

  • @nadezico Okay you kinda win the discussion xD But there are non-pop mainstream artists/bands, TRAX? (Tho they're less rock now) & Boohwal (Both Korean) And still, I'ts possible to like both mainstream random always the same pop, and meaningful rock that has a real message. o-o (And sometimes its the other way around, pop with a message and rock about love and with songs everyone already made 2346790976432 times) lol

  • @NYX8Kon Lol, I'm not fighting with you or something :P Of course there is some artists/bands that are not directly pop who are mainstream. I just wanted to point out that there are not many of them. And music usually have a message, it's just how they choose to show it to the audience. And I have to admit that I pretty much like Nell's music :) This can turn into an endless conversation hahaha :P

  • @nadezico Discussion =/= fighting

Another example Outsider - Loner <3 Anaaywaay I like you xD you have msn? ._.

  • wow it's so deep.

  • Wow a music video that actually means something O:

  • poor guy he couldnt get any! :'(

  • I didn't see that ending before!!!!!! Whoa!!!!! Hahahaha! Maybe they released a version without it before.

  • I totally agree

  • the chick is pretty hot lol i think she wants to give me head

  • wow its so deep man... i get chills. =) makes u think

  • sounds like all his friends took off and left him and he's getting frustrated trying to figure out why he was abandoned.

  • that mustve been a hard music vid to do

  • I like him...I htink he's my next favorite K-singer.

  • I have no idea what they r saying but it is so powerful!

emotion is just pouring out of his music

    x3 great band

  • wow i dont even know what they are saying but i love this song!!!

  • i really like this

this is the hard reality in which shows who the true musicians are

despite the hard times, the mainstream demand, the poor economy,

guys like these still pour in so much of their soul into their music and they don't care what happens to them.

The next thing I'm buying is their album.

  • I can't get over what a powerful video this is.

  • 노래 쥑이네 ㅎㅎ

  • It's debatable but the shitty music industry in Korea has produced some seriously kickass artists such as Nell, MYK, Double K, Epik High, and the rest of the MoveMent, who kick G Dragon and the rest's asses.

  • @chokklatMOOSE Beg to differ. G Dragon and the rest are great. But so are these guys. Just different music.

  • @inukikyo89 yes!!!!! that's what i'm saying!!

  • @chokklatMOOSE PREACH IT!

  • @chokklatMOOSE i completely disagree. it depends on the type of music your interested in. Korea is doing really well in terms of the rappers/ hip hop they're producing. I don't necessarily agree with all of their pop but even that is really good depending on the artist/group. personally, i'm not really into rock, so to me this is just alright, while i love some of the new R&B groups.I wouldn't say Nell beats GD & the rest when they deal with different music so they're uncomparable.

  • @chokklatMOOSE yeah its a shame how idols are ruling over the whole korean music industry... so bands like these don't get recognize

  • 4:58- 4:59

    Very well deserved middle finger.

    FUck you Korean Music industry.

  • I gotta admit that girl is hot. Anyways, I like to "watch" female idol groups/singers but i like to "listen" to music like this one. (i listen to variety of music but my favorites are (alternatives/indie/ rock ballad music). Idol groups focus on dancing so you gotta watch them but bands focus on their singing and playing instruments so you have to listen to them.

  • Nell......................

  • Goodnight! xxxx

  • kalnaf makes good points; i think it is weird that seo taiji can still go out there today with his nu metal/rock songs like internet war or ultramania and still make the same groups of people who listen to 2pm, tohoshinki, snsd, bang their heads... hmmm

i really hope with time the Korean music industry opens up to real artists; though the individuals of the idol groups may feel passionate about what they do, it's still a big show with little or no artistic value

  • "Though the individuals of the idol groups may feel passionate about what they do, it's still a big show with little or no artistic value." Well said. Others may think that idols don't give a shit about that. Yeah, I know, but also, you cannot ignore that there are idols who want to do their best artistically.

  • @sknman92 the difference with Seo TaiJi and other rock or pop artist is Seo TaiJi is a freakin legend, hes not even a music artist or a trendsetter. Saying hes the first one in Korea to bring in rock, hiphop, and pop is wrong, there have been so many before, hes the one who put his life and career into making pop culture a regular thing in Korea, disrespecting him is like disrespecting ALL singers, if it wasnt for him, only trot would be in korea, (ofcourse someone else COULDVE been the pop)

  • Man.. It's so real. There are no places for Rock in Korea. Most Korean people dont give a s**t about Rock. SAD BUT TRUE.

  • @lupio00 not true

its not that korean people dont give a s*** about rock, its just all underground, im korean i think rock is one of the most important genres and i have a LOT of other korean friends who like rock, and theyre from korea, apparently theres a lot of their friends who like rock too

its not dead, its just covered

  • @Kpopbest people think whatever isn't on tv isnt popular thats the problem .

  • @KAIIIYO well, thats all people in a society with mass media, no matter where you go

  • if you dont live in korea, you really dont have proof that korea rock is really really really underrated

i mean people in korea probably think people in america only listen to lady gaga, brittany spears, and other really famous pop artist who are always mentioned on tv and not rock bands like We the Kings, All Time Low, Cobra Starship, and other bands who are not really on tv

  • You got the point wrong and you don't understand the reality.

Korea's music industry is so incomparably smaller than American one. Rage Against The Machine does not always appear on TV, but there are tens of thousands of people who listen to them.

But, in Korea, if they don't appear on TV, then they're as good as ghosts.

As I said, Korean Rock is IMPRISONED IN HONGDAE BACKSTREETS, having there chances to come out to the surface taken from them, because people simply don't care.

  • @Kalnaf Rage Against The Machine is a real bad example and it's not fair to compare them to small Korean rock bands. Rage Against The Machine is apart of EPIC which is owned by a major huge corporation (Sony). Without EPIC, Rage Against The Machine wouldn't have gotten a chance to be played on the radio, mtv, fused, lollapalooza, SNL, Grammy awards or an opening band for U2. Nell is apart of a small independent label not a corporate label, its not fair to compare the two.

  • Nell <3

  • The music video shows well how 'Rock Music' is treated in Korea.

In Korea, almost nobody listens to rock music, and people care only about 'idol girls'.

    Rock music? fail in korea.

People only wants to see young girls come semi-naked and group dance in TV, and they usually think rock music is nothing but a 'noisy crap'.

    Very sad, but true.

  • The music industry fails in Korea because of the so called "idol generation". In old days, people used to listen to different varieties of songs, but nowadays, in my opinion, they just pay attention to the idols' images rather than the songs they make and also overrate them no matter how bad they are. Besides, I wouldn't mention only rock music, but all type of music with artists who try to deliver something to the public.

  • Another thing this music video shows is that Nell won't give up to their music no matter what the public says to them and that they'll continue with their production for "themselves".

  • You guys shouldn't be so critical about music industry in Korea :(

That's like saying nobody listens to Nell (which is not true)

Its just that people have different taste in music. It might be true that some idol groups exist only b/c of their image, but most big groups' members go through heavy training since they are in early teens (including singing, instrumental, dancing, composing, etc..)

  • I wouldn't say "different taste in music" though.

  • of course there's different taste in music! alot of people might like SNSD but some people don't

I wouldn't say its any different in other countries' music industry. some groups get alot of support, while some other groups remain as ghost

  • I dunno if the "different taste in music" thing is true. There are people who "like" songs just because they're from their favorite artists. In that case, they don't look into music itself, instead they pay more attention to the artists and what they do.

  • Nah. 'Industry wise', Im speaking.

Do you think Guckasten, Crying Nut, YB, Galaxy Express, Haneumpa, Crash, Pia, and etc would EVER get a same amount of coverage in media? Of course not! Rock music was systematically KILLED in the industry, and masses were just TRAINED by that industry to appreciate 소녀시대/카라/티아라 etcetcetc only, to lose their true 'taste'.

People, don't have 'taste in music' because they were not given the opportunity to get exposed to variety of music!

  • you are both right and wrong about the forced appriciation industry. It could have been the other way around, where the girl group singers became a big hit in one company, and the media and other companies are following that company's idea, so they can make lots of money. If you think about it, industries can't really force something on people. Its the people's demands that are forcing industry to make more products.

  • Other developed countries like Japan, Deutchland, Britain, and America has such a large and boiling Rock Music scene, and yet Korea's rock scene is only 'imprisoned' in Hongdae backstreet clubs.

And if that is because of 'people's will, then I should conclude that Korean people's taste in music in general, is very 'immature' for a citizens who are living in a developed country.

  • @Kalnaf, so korea is immature in the progress of the rock scene compared to other developed countries.... or it could be that koreans just prefer ballads and trot, r&b and hip hop to rock, nothing wrong with that. korea, just b.c. korea is developed, it does not HAVE to have a rock scene like Japan and Germany

elders in korea, mostly, think rock is some noisy stuff and they prefer ballads and trots, is that bad and immature of them?

  • @seoulaf I agree. Rock just isn't to their taste. But they rely so much on trends. When one thing gets popular, everyone else just goes "me too". That's how I see it in the kpop industry. Only a few pop acts have their own sound.

  • @pq887was

Does BoA have her own sound in your opinion?? Cuz I don't know for sure about her K-Pop, cuz that's maybe a lot of following the trends... but her J-Pop is always very bright and happy and stuff and not really a different genre (well of course a different genre, but not really following the trends...)

  • @RuuBjAh1 I must agree that BoA's Jpop has grown to be consistent and she does have her own sound. I'm still not sure about her Kpop though. She's cute when everyone's cute. And she's also followed the ballads with sad music videos trend (just one song though, but still).

  • @pq887was

yeah I also think so about her Jpop, but her Kpop, well I haven't reall listened to it that much, except for Hurricane Venus, that was awesome... and the song girls on top, because of the album "BoA"...

  • AMEEEENN!!!!

  • so,,sad,,but true..

  • wtf found him for the first time today and he's amazing. WOW.

  • i didn't expect this kinda mv for this song!... i just searched the intend of mv. and i see now. found it kinda implying some critics.
