I wonder if the group of 9 volcano produced islands called the "Azores" might actually be Atlantis itself? The Azores is just west of Portugal in the middle of the Atlantic ocean between North America and Europe. During WWII, the Azores was used as an landing base to refuel aircraft flying between both continent. Also during WWII, submarine detector planes were based at the Azores, and those planes patrolled the surrounding ocean for German submarine.

In fact, if you put Antarctica in full face view, taking a globe and doing so, you'll see an Island continent, surrounded by the ring of the World Ocean, surrounded by a ring of land... This is the ONLY place on the planet that describes Plato's Atlantis... Another interesting piece of info is that Antarctica's robot observatory (US, UK & Norway) is named PLATO
