  • i was soooooo lucky to have a dad into his music i grew up listening to this sort of stuff, thank you dad (that lambretta looks alot like the 1 my dad had but in alot better condition)

  • the sudden intro and the outro sends shivers! the bit in betweens not bad neither!Hendrix started out backing The Isleys in the early days

  • Village hall disco in the 60's, sneaking an illegal drink in the pub's off sales, deciding to catch last bus home or spend bus fare on another light ale and wait for a last dance chance of a kiss. This record reminds me of all those times.

  • @alanvking Same here. lol !

  • why paul weller make the jam & the style council ???? for that northent soul smile thank u d j pipis from patras GREECE

  • Behind That Painted Smile, was the SOULFUL SOUND,S,that will have filled many a dance floor, and left people lost within themselves.

    FROM UK.

  • youtube fuck off with the adds no fucker want no

  • Possibly the most wonderful record ever?

  • your right about this being Mod music i was into the Small Faces and the Who big time back in the 60s but this struck a chord with all of us. This track and This Old Heart of Mine were a must at the Palais on a saturday night.

  • 60's soul the original & best

  • Sorry, Michael, this song says it all.

lease tell the children one day who their mother, reeally was, and how much I loved them.xox

  • That damned drum roll drives me crazy!

  • Where's the flute intro?

  • I had this on a "Motown Chartbusters" album. The cover was silver and it also had at least three songs by the Supremes.

  • Such a good song...so many memories...makes you wish you could go back.

  • @douglas320 Sure does, so much good music then we were spoilt.

  • This here is what you would end up with if you mixed The Four Tops with Frankie Valli.

    Great stuff.

  • how wonderful is this song, always one of my favs, a classic song ..

  • Always loved this one.. too bad America dropped the ball and never got to hear it, like so many others.

    Thank you

  • Always loved this one and played the hell out of it on the LP! Thanks :) Seems to me the Supremes had a version of this one too. But I could be mistaken.

  • a luv this,

  • Incredible song. Love the drumbeat at the end

  • @dontlookbakin2thesun

You need to look at the reason a lot of this type of music got into the UK . The MOD movement was the first to latch onto it and it was the same with SKA and the original Blues and R&B . They were getting them of American GI's salors etc or as in the case of SKA migrants . MOD's played a great part in getting music into this country to start with befor the record companys did .

    Tom

  • @s2trash Haha, easy tiger calm down, i'm aware of this. Your missing my point completely but hey ho. this is a fantastic mo town track end!

    take it easy mate

  • @s2trash rubbish most of this music was around long before the Mods 'soul' music was here in the early 60's we were playing soul around the south coast in 63'64 and the main supporter of Soul music was Dusty Springfield who saved the 1964 Tamla tour by featuring it on an 1 hour special RSG which she hosted at the time.

  • @thepeacefulpoet

Beg to differ, the movement started way back in the 50's with small clubs getting hold of music that nobody else had over here.

  • Whats the scooter all about, this aint mod surely! its mo town

  • @dontlookbakin2thesun
