The public plan is NOT funded by taxes, it's just an insurance company that lives off premiums like any other, that is administered BY THE PEOPLE, FOR THE PEOPLE.

It most certainly does not! It gives low-income people vouchers to spend on private insurance. It does not even create a public option anymore! In the status quo you don't have much choice as most regional markets are monopolies. Obama's plan gives you a lot more choice and competition.

Wow, I'm happy to live in Quebec, Canada and have access to a public health system. It costs people about 10% of their salary to provincial government, and a free healthcare system is just one advantage. And if your salary is under 27 000$ a year, you don't have to pay taxes, so it's fair that richer people pay a little for the population. I go to hospital as often as I want if I doubt of my health, no cost. From our point of view, being against Obama is not far from insane

Waiting lists, depends on the urgency of the tests or treatments. If your state needs immediate investigation or treatment, you'll receive immediate service. For the services received in the US, it's for extraspecialized tests or treatment unavailable in the province and it's fully paid by the governement
As a physician practicing in upstate ny, i can tell you thyat waiting lists do exist and impact care. my practice sees, on average, 10 canadians a month because they cannot wait for care any longer. keep in mind that canada has a population less than california. waits in america will be the cause of death not the disease. the real issue when comparing all these countries is that we are by far the fattest.
I don't have the pretention to say that canadian healthcare is better than US. But the population tends to refuse any system that is unequal for everyone. Maybe you have to wait in certain situation in Canada, but the director of the national bank have to wait the same time as the grocery store worker, no favoritism. 15,3% of the US population were without an insurance for at least a part of the year, and when charity care is not available, they go without treatment, which is worst than waiting.

This was going to invetibally snap back together and it did. Housing prices drop down to match the levels of wages. The crash of the housing market began a long chain of events that lead to todays reccession. None of it is Barack Obama's fault since it happened before he came to term, and much of it is not Bush's fault since he can't control the economy.

It most certainly does not! It gives low-income people vouchers to spend on private insurance. It does not even create a public option anymore! In the status quo you don't have much choice as most regional markets are monopolies. Obama's plan gives you a lot more choice and competition.
The plan will be put into effect and then you will see that it is not a secret plot to kill you and deny you necessary care. Quite the opposite!

Wrong again. There is only one CBO and they say the bill saves $100B in 10 years, $1T in 20 years. All the spending is made up for by increased revenues. Unlike the Republican Medicare Part D bill. I don't want a free ride, I want to make the system work and I know it costs $ to get there. Why the dems can't pass it is a matter of politics, not policy. Riding in AF1 is not a giveaway, the president has the right to have meetings. You're just a dittohead.

Bottomline, the behind-the-door deals for just some states, the deals with the Unions, the twisting arms & THREATS against the Dems who are voting no, the attempts to rewrite the rules - are a very good indication of the lack of merit regarding THIS bill. It's sad that the minority of ppl wanting it really believe it will be free & the same quality we have now-neither of which will be true. Wow, I'm happy to live in Quebec, Canada and have access to a public health system. It costs people about 10% of their salary to provincial government, and a free healthcare system is just one advantage. And if your salary is under 27 000$ a year, you don't have to pay taxes, so it's fair that richer people pay a little for the population. I go to hospital as often as I want if I doubt of my health, no cost. From our point of view, being against Obama is not far from insane

Waiting lists, depends on the urgency of the tests or treatments. If your state needs immediate investigation or treatment, you'll receive immediate service. Also, nobody wants to be killed by a waitng list, I totally agree with you. But it never happens, otherwise people would never be cool with such a system. For the services received in the US, it's for extraspecialized tests or treatment unavailable in the province and it's fully paid by the governement

As a physician practicing in upstate ny, i can tell you thyat waiting lists do exist and impact care. my practice sees, on average, 10 canadians a month because they cannot wait for care any longer. keep in mind that canada has a population less than california. waits in america will be the cause of death not the disease. the real issue when comparing all these countries is that we are by far the fattest.

I don't have the pretention to say that canadian healthcare is better than US. But the population tends to refuse any system that is unequal for everyone. Maybe you have to wait in certain situation in Canada, but the director of the national bank have to wait the same time as the grocery store worker, no favoritism. 15,3% of the US population were without an insurance for at least a part of the year, and when charity care is not available, they go without treatment, which is worst than waiting.

Of the 47 million, half are likely illegal's, perhaps 1/4 are people who may have lost their insurance during the year and will pick it up later or are kids who choose not to purchase it, of the 25% or less remaining, some actually have pre existing conditions & some would actually qualify for medicaid, so we should destroy our healthcare system for a tiny percentage of the population when one or two pages of legislation requiring enrollment for pre-existing is sensible.
