Multipule universes instead of just one (our) universe. This was just his theory, can't be fully proven yet. But it fliped my lid. I could feel my brain smoking on that one. If there are multipule universes than that would make the big bang not a big deal. I love to think about this stuff.

Though Hawking has elaborated more on his agnosticism/atheism, that is not a new idea.
Anyway, why do we say that is so? Because it is always observed to work that way in our universe. Any laws of our universe are meaningless outside/before our universe, where God, as creator, would be from. Furthermore, God, as creator of the universe, wouldn't necessarily be bound by its laws.

actually, the proof of God is all in the beginning. the point of singularity was from matter to energy and engery to matter--making the universe infinite. however, where did the matter and energy come from? molecules? where'd they come from? and if God had a creator, where'd he come from? and then where'd he come from?science says there must be a beginning--that things can't just BE. there is an endless succession which is why there must be a higher being of infinite time and power--which is God

However, whats important is the distinction between the "spark" or "God" that caused the big bang (i.e. if there was a concious behind it), and the Judeo-Christian God that made us sick and commands us to be well. When people attack God they usually attack the latter because it requires you to give yourself over to a kind of master-slave relationship, based on some self-contridicting scribblings written down a couple of thousand years ago.

@crazyhysterical I was listening to this guy who was a astrophyicist, and he was theorizing about there probably is more than one universe out there. Multipule universes instead of just one (our) universe. This was just his theory, can't be fully proven yet. But it fliped my lid. I could feel my brain smoking on that one. If there are multipule universes than that would make the big bang not a big deal. I love to think about this stuff.

"Nothing" is quantifiably measurable as it has energy. I suppose you should first take a look at the laws of thermodynamics. AND you proved the rational point yourself. God would also have to have a creator; incidentally you get an infinite regress. Brush up on the science, logic, and philosophy and I'll see you as an atheist in a week.

Though Hawking has elaborated more on his agnosticism/atheism, that is not a new idea.
Anyway, why do we say that is so? Because it is always observed to work that way in our universe. Any laws of our universe are meaningless outside/before our universe, where God, as creator, would be from. Furthermore, God, as creator of the universe, wouldn't necessarily be bound by its laws.
