Yes very nice cars those SS 396 Chevelles with the 4sp. I have one my self just like it with the ivory interior, nothing like going though the gears in that girl.
yeah, i bet my honda civic type R clone that my parents bought for me would totally beat this car. yep all i need is 1" to 6" exhaust reducers, and a really big spoiler. if i threw on a body kit, itd be like overkill on this old thing.

I am thinking this is the 350hp 396. It appears to have a cast iron intake manifold. The 375hp 396 had an aluminum intake manifold.

It was the first year for the 402 and to ease the change over GM still badged the cars as 396.
