  • I am thinking this is the 350hp 396. It appears to have a cast iron intake manifold. The 375hp 396 had an aluminum intake manifold.

  • Yes very nice cars those SS 396 Chevelles with the 4sp. I have one my self just like it with the ivory interior, nothing like going though the gears in that girl.

  • yeah, i bet my honda civic type R clone that my parents bought for me would totally beat this car. yep all i need is 1" to 6" exhaust reducers, and a really big spoiler. if i threw on a body kit, itd be like overkill on this old thing.

  • It was the first year for the 402 and to ease the change over GM still badged the cars as 396.
