Gah, there is so many players that are too lazy to update. In update yourself games. There's so many people playing on different patches. Some games look nearly dead , but it's not. there's 100's on 1.0, a few on 1.3, another 100 on the latest update and a few more hundred in between say the 10 patches that were made.
I think the patch thing is a lie, you can patch the game w/out having to force players into a lobby based system. Yes, u said it. they're just too greedy to provide a few servers

I really hope the lobby thing dies out and you can pick your servers for every game again. I like playing mods like Q4Max, CPMA, INstagib , GTR. Random nameless L4D2 modded servers. CSS modded servers. Mods can keep certain games running for a long time.
mw2 really sucked, mw2 ripped me off...honnestly. Was waaaaay better before with dedicated servers. console players dont understand their lack of knowledge toward a good gaming experience>. xbox 360 or ps3 is not the best way to play 1st person shooter.

There are people who owned a copy of MW2 moved to alteriw.net because they are fed up with matchmaking, connection issues, hackers, cheaters, and wrongly accused of being banned. However if there is no real Default Tracker other then potentially dishonest underground trackers. but when you break it down teh Dedi what little is there, will still rely on the IWNet pairing limitations. I deeeeeeeply regret buying Modern Warfare 2... I didn't do enough research on the game before I bought it... I didn't realize that I would be able to chose what fucking server I join. I can't have a NO SHOTGUN server? What the fuck? What a piece of shit fucking game, and the killstreaks pretty much killed the gameplay for me now too. Not anymore. The stimulus package actually costs money. At least the developer's console is more or less back, so we can at least change the field of view or certain game cvars.
You don't need it because there is no benefit for consoles, but it really depends on games. PC have dedicated servers because it has a lot of benefits.

I think one reason IW Net is being a dick is because they spent so much money on marketing and composers and enfamed voice actors like Hans Zimmer and the guy who voiced Sgt. Foley (Forgot his name..damnit) aren't cheap. For now, I think they are trying to secure some revenue so they don't want the general public thinking the game is lacking (note that mass banning of people who don't agree with IW on the forums).

I'm a ps3 gamer, i can understand that the PC gamers were not happy about this. I've seen modded servers on call of duty World At War on the PC, and to be honest, they look real fun. So really i think the reason is that they have just given up on the PC version. I know this video was made a long time ago, but really. It's message still stands. Do you know how many people have signed the petition up until now? 255 THOUSAND people. It's so damn clear that PC gamers wants dedicated servers so bad that it's ridicoulus Infinity Ward hasn't done anything about it yet. Modern Warfare 2 on the PC today is a joke. dedicated server means you can choose a server that plays like 3 maps only usually the most favorite maps, so you dont have to sit there and take it in the ass when they pick a random server for you and people dont feel like playing certain stupid maps over and over. also dedicated servers can have admins and can spot hackers and kick them off immediately

In reality, IW will not drop IWNet since PC Gamers are buying the game AND getting thew new DLC on Steam in droves.
This proves as well as L4D2's boycott/WoW 25$ horse that PC gamer's are no better then console gamers in terms of sticking up for themselves.

I think one reason IW Net is being a dick is because they spent so much money on marketing and composers and enfamed voice actors like Hans Zimmer and the guy who voiced Sgt. Foley (Forgot his name..damnit) aren't cheap. For now, I think they are trying to secure some revenue so they don't want the general public thinking the game is lacking (note that mass banning of people who don't agree with IW on the forums).

I'm a ps3 gamer, i can understand that the PC gamers were not happy about this. I've seen modded servers on call of duty World At War on the PC, and to be honest, they look real fun. So really i think the reason is that they have just given up on the PC version. I know call of duty started of on the PC, its gonna end on the consoles though i think, why should they have na shitty little port over from the console to the PC, i just don't get it!?
