I am sorry to say but you are doing the lighter thing wrong. You need to rest the lighter on the knuckle of your index finger not the actual finger. The knuckle is harder so that way the beer is easier to open. Doing it your way you risk hurting your finger or damaging the lighter. Also you shouldn't try to slowly squeeze the cap off. Instead knock it off in one quick motion.
