I know for a fact that there are souls because I visited an Loma Vista Community Hospital and there were a number of apparitions there and ghost sightings. Mother Teresa's home for the dying was one of the most horrible places I ever cast my eyes upon. Nurses would reuse needles, no money was spent on the sanitation, or medical equipment.
Mother Teresa had the money and the influence to help these people, however she gave it all to the Vatican.
She even took money from dictators and criminals that was stolen from the poor. Again, all went to the Vatican.

Hitchens is actually quite favoured by the Catholic Herald and general Catholic press, he has topped the the New York bestseller list several times, he has debated Tony Blair, various politicians and wrote polemics for years. He will not be forgotten, if you really believe that then you're living under a serious delusion (I gather you like that sort of thing). He is GREATLY celebrated by the general press for example, I've hardly read a newspaper article in my life that seriously criticized him.

This woman devoted her life to changing others and giving up her own.
Mother Teresa's public image is very different from reality. Most of the donated money was spent for pushing religious beliefs, building convents and so on, not for humanitarian purposes. The hospice in Calcutta was as primitive when she died as it always had been. Western doctors and volunteers visiting were disgusted by it – people were dying of diseases that could have been easily treated but the money was spent elsewhere.
@musicalladybug1 Nobody knows exactly where the money was spent now that Mother Teresa is dead. The reason for this is that Teresa refused to publish any audit where the money was spent, any honest non-profit organisation would publish that. And after she's dead her successors continue her work, but they still don't publish anything. Why !!?? Obviously Hitchens isn't 100% neutral, but there are other critiques too. The point is that obviously much money wasn't spent on the hospice in Calcutta.

It's one thing to be critical of Mother Teresa in the light of such an undeserved reputation, but it's another thing entirely to start making comparisons with dictators and mass murderers.
I thought it a little bit of a hyperbole when I wrote it, but think about it. People who needed to be cared for properly in a hospital were denied this care simply because Mother teresa considered poverty a requirement for enlightenment. They were restrained to small makeshift beds, and very little water and food. They were basically given a bed to die in. Obviously she didnt actively slaughter the way others did, but the end results were still the same. Millions still died.

I know for a fact that there are souls because I visited an Loma Vista Community Hospital and there were a number of apparitions there and ghost sightings. This place was also featured in shows like Ghost Hunters and Ghost Adventures.
So this was one of the reasons why I'm not an Atheist anymore. So Hitchens is WRONG again. And if there's Hell, he's screwed.

Mother Teresa's home for the dying was one of the most horrible places I ever cast my eyes upon. Nurses would reuse needles, no money was spent on the sanitation, or medical equipment.
Mother Teresa had the money and the influence to help these people, however she gave it all to the Vatican.
She even took money from dictators and criminals that was stolen from the poor. Again, all went to the Vatican.

You can see that the money went straight to the people she was helping out. He nobel prize winning went to 2 poor villages. As far as being unsanitary, have you been to calcutta and actually seen the surroundings. MT places were far sanitary and clean compare to most clinics and hospitals there.

Hitchen never set foot on any of MT's charitable institution. But anyone can go and see for themselves what MT and her sisters does for the poor and orphants. People tend to forget that it was MT who first instituted a place for people with AIDS and she and her sisters were touching and caring for them when others wouldn't even dare breathe in the same place as them. Mother Teresa's public image is very different from reality. Most of the donated money was spent for pushing religious beliefs, building convents and so on, not for humanitarian purposes. The hospice in Calcutta was as primitive when she died as it always had been. Western doctors and volunteers visiting were disgusted by it – people were dying of diseases that could have been easily treated but the money was spent elsewhere.

The reason for this is that Teresa refused to publish any audit where the money was spent, any honest non-profit organisation would publish that. And after she's dead her successors continue her work, but they still don't publish anything. Why !!?? Obviously Hitchens isn't 100% neutral, but there are other critiques too. The point is that obviously much money wasn't spent on the hospice in Calcutta.

Buddhist? Oh God forbid no; I mean nobody would want to offend any of those religious affiliations correct? She was a Christian which is bad enough for most of her critics, but to be a CATHOLIC Christian is even worse which compels her critics to pounce faster and harder...Truth is always attacked...

Mother admired Gandhi, who was a man of peace - he said to the man who was in despair because he killed the parents of a Muslim child - to find peace take the child in care and educate it as a Muslim - that is pure humanity..standing the foe but not in hatred - we all should do so .... it is so easy to critizise - make it better and I will admire you all..

Agree....opinions are NOT the same as factuals.
MT did so much for the poor that her whole being was devoted to them. Hitchens on the other hand devoted himself in riduculing her in order to advance himself. The guy drives a Maserati, drinks all time, doing women, and smoking his ass off.

Mother Teresa was a greedy, evil fraud. Before anyone responds to this in a hateful rage, they should do themselves the favor of reading a book about her entitled: (quite vindictively, but nonetheless truthfully) The Missionary Position, written by Christopher Hitchens. Everyone in the world should read this book. Maybe then Mother Teresa will be equated with the likes of Saddam Hussein and Kim Jong Ill like she should be.

I thought it a little bit of a hyperbole when I wrote it, but think about it. People who needed to be cared for properly in a hospital were denied this care simply because Mother teresa considered poverty a requirement for enlightenment. They were restrained to small makeshift beds, and very little water and food. They were basically given a bed to die in. Obviously she didnt actively slaughter the way others did, but the end results were still the same. Millions still died.

@dudesonman4200 Amazing how little you know. Why don't you volunteer for the Missionary of Charity and find out for yourself. It's open to the public and anybody is welcome to volunteer. Try it out for 1 week and then if you feel the same about it I will understand.
But to go by what athiest like Hitchen said without ever meeting MT or seeing her work first hand is a hypocrite.

Hopefully you wont charge me with plagiarism, but the title 'hells angel' rings well. Just to prevent another misunderstanding, I want to reiterate. Mother Teresa's Charity did virtually nothing to help the poor. My argumant obviously plunges deeper than that, but I think it would be patronizing to have to reiterate that as well.

America. I've seen the Sisters in action. I've seen there sacrifice.I've seen MT struggle with her health, but she never stopped working, even to a point she was hospital she was still working
