  • Please do a studio tour. You have many great synths and we would love to see the collection. Thanks for posting all your stuff.

  • beautiful

  • I'm not a keyboardist... but I want these SO BAD!

  • sick dude sick

  • 0:01

  • :) i just love that bass sound.

  • AWSOME. my korg mini does all that. it's funny about technology. that was the king in the 70's great vid.

  • @retrosound72 i'm going to find out where you live and break in and play all night till the police arrives hahaha

    (joking)

  • dude, are you a millionare or something?????? you have such great gear! thanks for sharing !

  • omg I want it SO bad

  • do you think you could edit a music video for me hahaha

    cool demo

  • This is so gorgeous! I love the bass pedals and the Moog synthesiser.

  • Where's the laser light show? :D

  • does anything in the world sound nicer than a singing mini???????????

  • @ec101dm

check my Singing Minimoog vid ;)

  • @ec101dm Yes, an Ondes Martenot:

    /watch?v=Yy9UBjrUjwo

  • @ec101dm :) hmmm.... maybe the sweet woody sound of my overdriven Jem D7BK... :)))) ok, not counting the guitars... yes... i agree! a moog is a moog. period. (Actually, I'm planning on getting the best of both worlds with the moog guitar, which looks and sounds good enough to proudly wear the moog badge! Regards! Álvaro

  • @ec101dm Yes - a singing Mini with some Taurus bass underneath.

  • I've noticed that a lot of stuff you play is slow, in a good way, I would call it retro relaxation music. And where do you get that many vintage keyboards? They must've cost you a ton.

  • I worked with Yes in 1971 and your sound is so reminiscent of Jon Anderson (on the Taurus pedals) and Tony Kaye on keyboards (before the legendary Rick Wakeman took over). Thanks for taking me on a wonderful retro journey.

  • @oldgitsuk

thanks a lot for your kind words :)

  • @oldgitsuk How did you work with Yes if you are 39?

  • @oldgitsuk: there were no Taurus pedals in '71, as production didn't (officially) start

    until late '75 / early '76...

  • @kiwibass not doubting ou but, for my own edification, what did Mike Rutherford use during this time perioda(Nursery Cryme through the Lamb & possibly A Trick of the Tail)? I always assumed it was a Moog product.

  • @micheljch

Mike Rutherford first used Dewtron "Mr. Bassman" pedals, then it was Moog Taurus units from "A Trick Of The Tail" onwards. He must have been one of the very first musicians to actually use them, as that album was recorded in '75...

  • @oldgitsuk Tony Kaye was great. Wakeman was and still is a megalomaniac.

  • @oldgitsuk wow man what a great time for a great band

  • totaly love it ....

  • wow thats nice

I wonder if it would sound as good with the current voyager and t3pedal?

  • @Jungl3Bunny420

    for me not.

  • I tune in and drop out like I'm being whisked away through space to distant lands. I literally could spend hours messing around with this setup...add in my guitar and looper and I'll disappear on my own cosmic voyage haha Of course this video has gotta be followed up by some great Rush and Genesis tunes now. :)

  • that was awesome! wish i had a set up like that :)

  • I have become addicted to the sound of Taurus! amazing.. Since I'm a bass player (electric and upright), now I wanna play also the synth bass!!

  • Thanks retrosound72! I can't wait for my new T-3's to arrive!!

  • thank you peter

have much fun with your new taurus 3 !

  • @peterkadar

T 3's? Your getting more than one? damn. They are going to start building them next week and theres only 100 of 1000 availible to buy still. Im glad that is the case for Moog. Its a good american company and synth builders have such a hard time staying in bissiness. LONG LIVE MOOG!!!!!

  • that really is a lovely setting you have on that moog

  • genesis did it for me with their Taurus sound.

  • When I get my T3's, I'll definitely post a "modern" version of this video with a Taurus 3 and a Minimoog Voyager.

  • Still....one of if not the coolest videos on Youtube. This vid reminds me so much of RUSH and the sound I fell in love with back around '81. I have been a drummer since I was 13 (now 40) and of course Peart being top on my list....my Dad ( who passed away July '09) would always tease me ...."Who's playin in the back of the house...Neil Peart?" He really didnt know who Peart was but went along with it all anyways and was always encouraging my music practice. Miss you Pop..this one's for you!!

  • thank you

  • Amazing sounds!

  • Vintage synths still rule the future, thanks for posting, you're the man!

  • taurus pedals and minimoog together is the most nice combination ever.

  • Okay....once again, three months later I find myself engrossed in this video. The sound seems to transport you to some other place.....some other time. Ha...like I said earlier...takes me to 1981 when I first discovered RUSH a little kid!!

Danke Schoen to "retrosound72" for posting these clips!!!

  • thx a lot :)

  • WOW! Spaced out. I love the sound of a Moog synth.

  • Beautiful!

  • thank you

  • fantastic¡¡¡¡

  • thanks :)

  • The most killer combination of the world. Classic/class AA++ gear. Classy playing. CLASS AAA++++ VIDEO!

    Thanks to make me fly.

  • thank you :)

  • is the minimoog plugged directly into the memoryman?

  • yes

  • The Police used a Taurus for the intro of 'Don't stand so close to me' i think..

  • wow, that Moog is really singing!!!

is it an old Mini, or one of the contemporary ones, the "Voyagers"?

  • the original minimoog!

    thanks

  • It's a Moog Prodigy....I had one and sold it last year.....wish I still had it.

  • Okay.....I'm back!! These sounds are taking me back to 1981-82...when I first discovered RUSH. So much that Ive overflowed the player in my living room with RUSH cd's. The wonderful sounds they made back when....'81-'82. That puts me at 12 years old.....40 now and still love it! Man....some say the 80's were a bad time for music. Pehaps they just weren't listening to the right stuff!

  • Damn...I cant away from this clip!! Thinking of all the great RUSH songs...Subdivisions...Countdown....the list goes on and on!!

  • I also use the Memory Man Deluxe with my Voyager and for me that is the perfect combination!

  • die harmonieren gut miteinander

  • Damn...almost reminds me of "Jacobs ladder" by RUSH......."at once the clouds are parted...light streams down in bright unbroken beams..."!!!

  • This makes me want to go out and spend $4500 on some moog stuff. Now.

  • @mjfrattaroli Haha no joke the sound really sucks you in.

  • Really great man, thanks!

Timeless sounds that still rock today :)

  • thanks :)

  • Wow. If that clip doesn't make anyone want to rush out and by a set of Taurus pedals and a Minimoog, nothing will! Simply amazing, man.

  • thank you :)

  • Nice demo! I just ordered the new Taurus pedals from Moog a few weeks ago. I hope they nail it...

  • thanks :)

  • Thanks for the info on the Electro Harmonix Mem Man unit. Just bought one from ebay for my Mini, hope i can get it to sound like this ;) Please dont post anything else as i just cant afford it ....

  • cool!

    thanks

  • Hi and thanks for posting this great stuff...

Love that Mini ;) sound Lucky enough to have picked one up myself and trying to find my way around it. Did you have any effects on the Minimoog to get that? Kee it up ... its an inspiration :)

  • thx :)

I use the EHX Memory Man Deluxe analog delay.

  • man! this sound chill my blood! i`m really overwhealm! (i think i wrote it wrong) i was looking some videos to see the diference between keys, Synths, moogs, i`m very interstred to learn to play keyboards as the 70`s bands, that`s my style, but i don`t know what to buy, any advice? still go on friend!

  • thank you :)

Moog Prodigy, Minimoog, Arp Odyssey, SCI Pro-One...

  • Great demo with the Moogs.

  • thanks :)

  • ...the water is nice in the end! ;)

  • Thats a really awesome sound. Put a polymoog in between them, have a seat and be the first human to set foot on Mars.

    Moog Lives!

    Eric

  • thank you for your comment :)

  • beautiful sound

  • thanks

  • Didn't you do another video of those foot pedels? This setup sounds as if it could be used in a theatrical production.

  • check my other Moog Taurus vids with different sounds...

  • MOOG claims it will be the exact same circuitry as the original Taurus1.

I guess we will have to wait and see.

  • Great video, retrosound! Nice way to dream back to the eighties on a rainy saturday afternoon!

  • thanks a lot :)

  • thank 4 the post, is great !

  • thank you :)

  • Moog will reissue the Taurus, looking forward to it,hoping it will sound as fat as yours!

  • yes, but the sound will different be. Other construction units have an influence on the sound.

  • hello retro friend.

class sound, to get that sound is pretty special.

    thanks

  • thank you :)

  • damn, that taurus sounds good!

  • Hübscher Schuh ^^

Dazu noch wieder ein echt nettes Video und Klänge wie wir sie doch immer mehr vermissen :)

  • ;-)

  • As always you did a awesome tune, good job, really relaxing.

  • thank you
