I herd all 6 videos. What the bishop doesn't say is that christians were instrumental in ending slavery and that they were active in the civil rights movement.. Additionally, in europe, christians were involved in saving jews from the nazies. I fear that the bishop is being less then honest in not telling the complete truth. You see, ultimately, if we have to bend around the truth so much as manifested in the bible, then why not turn away from Christianity? Everyone is trying to make Christ and the God more palatable, more like men, but to do such a thing not only drags the eternal incorruptible image of God down to earth, but makes man on the same level as God. If we go to such lengths, why not just worship man alone? And in the long run, this will happen - the bible prophesies it. No sense in supporting God.

I used to be solipsistic. I was an incredibly self-centered person that didn't care at all about what the people around me felt because they may well have been empty drones just there for me. The belief in God has led me to believe that there are other living, breathing beings that are aware of theirselves aside from me. Part of being a Christian has actually been realizing that I'm not the center of it all but that God is. It has allowed me to be able to love my neighbor as myself.

I have a solidarity with my fellow humans because of mutual self interest and a good upbringing. Morallity doesnt come from god because morallity evolved to be what it is today often in the teath of religious opposition. @JMackeyIII Early Church historians even tried to rewrite roman historical texts to refer to jesus when none did. Its a real possibility he did not even exist. According to every (untampered with) historical text at the time there was no Earthquake, no grave openings and people walking around Jerusalem, no temple curtain being torn, no Census at the supposed birth, no Egyptian writings of enslaved Jews, armies being wiped out and so on and so forth.
