So many people would call this man a heretic, a blasphemer, because of his views. Not because he doesn't make sense, but because he does. The notion that all you believe may be wrong is frightening to a lot of Christians, who tend to be people who are afraid of change, and cling to routine and strict rule.
This man is my hero. I wish more ministers would have the guts to actually preach what they know and not what people simply want to hear. We have to stop believing fairy tales.
I herd all 6 videos. What the bishop doesn't say is that christians were instrumental in ending slavery and that they were active in the civil rights movement.. Additionally, in europe, christians were involved in saving jews from the nazies. I fear that the bishop is being less then honest in not telling the complete truth. And buy the way, I'm not a christian.
This man promises liberation, but brings men back into bondage. He gets us all hyped up over a new and even better more humanist Christianity that will fizzle in the future and lead us into the worship of man alone.
He just proves your god is a straw man which you cannot accept. Saying something is not true because it rocks your world view does not make it any less true.
To get the oneness and wholeness that this man speaks of, people must apostasize from Christianity ultimately, and they will. The grace of God has to be slandered so that we can bring about a world movement that no longer states the truth about the decrepid and hopeless sinful nature of man, but now embraces it and encourages it. This is the beast system of the very endtimes, and before long they will shrug off all other world religions and have people bow down to MAN alone. Don't be deceived!
You see, ultimately, if we have to bend around the truth so much as manifested in the bible, then why not turn away from Christianity? Everyone is trying to make Christ and the God more palatable, more like men, but to do such a thing not only drags the eternal incorruptible image of God down to earth, but makes man on the same level as God. If we go to such lengths, why not just worship man alone? And in the long run, this will happen - the bible prophesies it. No sense in supporting God.
Romans 1:22Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools, 23And changed the glory of the uncorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things. 24Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: 25Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen.
You can quote all the scripture you like I'm an Anti Theist, Secular Humanist and Evangelical Athiest so your quotes are just psyco-babble and white noise to me and proves spongs point about Dogma!
I will enquire one thing of you, and you don't have to reply but simply to think about it. In the realm of eternity upon eternity upon eternity, where is your soul going? If you were to die today, what would happen to you, to your existence, to the utter awareness of your being? The Lord cares for your soul, and he created you not to die as a beast, but to give glory to Him and worship Him.
There is only one name under heaven in which to receive eternal life, and that's Jesus Christ.
No where. When I die I cease to exist! The universe does not even know we are here. No a nice thought but true none the less. Religion is wish thinking and if there was no promised afterlife would not be of interest to you. Sorry everything can be explained with out a god but only if you can concieve we are not at the centre of the universe or the purpose for its existance. Your solopsistic and as a result unable to be rational.
I used to be solipsistic. I was an incredibly self-centered person that didn't care at all about what the people around me felt because they may well have been empty drones just there for me. The belief in God has led me to believe that there are other living, breathing beings that are aware of theirselves aside from me. Part of being a Christian has actually been realizing that I'm not the center of it all but that God is. It has allowed me to be able to love my neighbor as myself.
See I can love me fellow human beings but I is a shame a belief in an imaginary friend is what it took. I have a solidarity with my fellow humans because of mutual self interest and a good upbringing. Morallity doesnt come from god because morallity evolved to be what it is today often in the teath of religious opposition. Religion is surplus to requirments and we would be better off if we choose to stand at something of our full interlectual height. It is childish wish thinking!
Oh so just because you cannot rationally decide for yourself what is right and or wrong using convention, comunity standards and the collective wisdom gained through the centuries you feel somehow you would prefer to rely on the word of your imaginary friend...Please...Grow up! There are no absolutes you might not like trhat but its an inescapable truth.
@JMackeyIII As usual the religious relpy contains Semantic and white noise rater than addressing the issues raised. Oh and just for the record I dont listen to anyone with a bible...lol
@HondaRealty white noise semantic what are you even talking about.
you can not handle whatever it is you can not handle so you say
"there is absolutely no absolutes... Look how smart I am I disproved God.."
the only thing you have prove is your lack of understanding. your problem is that you have no refute to the christian world view. You just point fingers and call names, all the will saying nothing...
I am simply talking about the fact that you will not address the issues I rased (because you cannot) yet instead carry on with some Christian psyco-bable. I have no need to disprove god. Incredible claims require credible evidence. The burden of proof is on you not me. I dont have to disprove god any more than santa clause.
I do refute the christian world view as I do the islamic, Jewish, Buddhist and any other world view that requires the suspencion of rational and grounded thought in exchange for a ficticious after life and the adoption of a belief in the supernatural. So answer my points directly and rationally or do us all a favor and don't bother. See no name calling there and it speaks volumes...lol
you do not refute it. you just claim it is fictitious this is not refutation.
burden of proof.. the bible is proof, 1500 years of historical accounts capture by a single people group. find me something that can hold a candle to that.
you know what do not even try, people far smarter than you have tried. people have given up and have now resorted to claiming, like this nimrod, that what the disciples wrote down and died for was just a misinterpretation of what Jesus meant.
@JMackeyIII So to summarize stay in your god delusion all you like, its nothing to me but when you bring your revolting immoral word view into the public domain dont think you disserve any or will receive any respect. If its a private view great your welcome to it but when you try to teach non sense like Creationism in the classroom get ready for a fight. God did not put the fossils in the rocks just to test your faithlol Get a grip on reality even if its not to your liking!
@HondaRealty why would God need to put fossils in rocks...
you are the one who needs to get a grip. what makes you think that God wants you. what makes you think that God needs you and that His purpose for you is but to let you go thru your life railing on people and then to cast you into hell with the rest of the trash.
Because if God did not want you, no matter how much evidence was stacked in front of you, you would still be blind...
Again side track rather than face the issue, produce the evidence!!! Where is your evidence. You cannot. Oh you mentioned hell...scarey...lol I thought this would come up sooner or latter. Cannot win the intilectual debate so bring up the fear card...You are pathetic! God of love hey? What a joke. If your imaginary friend does exist its not him how has rejected me but me him and people like you and all your vicious nasty diatribe.
JMackeyIII and the discovery channel i will go with Einstein and I quote: "The word god is for me nothing more than the expression and product of human weaknesses, the Bible a collection of honourable, but still primitive legends which are nevertheless pretty childish. No interpretation no matter how subtle can (for me) change this"
Letter to philosopher Eric Gutkind, January 3, 1954
@JMackeyIII Its very simple, most Christians use selectively the texts in the bible to reinforce your pre existing prejudice and bigotry. We shall know that they are Christians by their lovelol What a joke! You some of the most hateful people in the world. Your god if he were true is a vicious, nasty, xenophobic, bloodthirsty, megalomaniac. If he did exist I would deny him and his holy spirit! God of love?? Tell that to the Egyptian boys at Passover (which is also a myth) and the Amalekites.
@HondaRealty are you now judging God's actions for taking the lives of the first born? That would require a moral law and I would like to know where you get your definition of what is moral or not. Are you the definer of what is moral.
I have already told you where I get my moral code from dingbat! At least I dont need an imaginary friend to tell me what is right and wrong because I am to brainless to figure it out for myself. To quote Ferdinand Magellan, "The church says the earth is flat, but I know that it is round, for I have seen the shadow on the moon, and I have more faith in a shadow than in the church."
@JMackeyIII Your statement illistrates that "Yahweh: "The God of the Old Testament is arguably the most unplesant character in all fiction: jealous and proud of it; a petty, unjust, unforgiving control-freak; a vindictive, bloodthirsty ethnic cleanser, a misogynistic, homophobic, racist, infanticidal, genocidal, filicidal, pestilential, megalomaniacal, sadomasochistic, capriciously malevolent bully.""
@HondaRealty again you are describing God and attributing to Him negative human traits and conditions. God is not a man. If you are judging Him and His actions and motives, what moral law are you evoking. Unforgiving, that is a interesting perspective on sending One's only begotten Son to live the life none could live and die as a ransom for all who would love Him. Unforgiving just doesn't define that selective maybe but definitely forgiving.
@JMackeyIII Again you doge all the issues. gods are created by me and religion is moderated by secular morality over time. My moral law is based on my own standards which again I dont need help from your imaginary friend to work out all by myself. That failing i have secular law provided by a democratic process. You would prefer theocrocy.
@JMackeyIII Oh so your god buy his supposed own words in s jealous god, angry god and we are supposed to be made in his image? So based on your theology human traits are similar to gods so I have every right to assign or mutual morality to him..geeez
@JMackeyIII Oh so what your saying is your perfect infallible god created an imperfect world knowing we would all fall short of the mark and suffer and the only way he could think to fix it all was to become human and be excruciatingly killed..Oh boy! So we are created sick and commanded to be well. Well if thats not masochism I dont know what is. You are one sick puppyLMAO
@JMackeyIII If it wasnt for Constantine your peculiar sect would not have the prominence it does in the western world where secular morality (you cannot be moral and a literal Christian) has moderated the hateful, tribal, inhumane and xenophobic texts that form a cannon based on a politically expedient Nicaean convention where your sect first started to tell people how to think rather than for themselves. Your in the hate producing control business and have no place in the public square.
@HondaRealty you know there was a cannon long before constantine. his motive might of had political implications but the first century christian knew their documents and did not need a roman ruler to help them.
Well again your ignorance astounds..well maybe it doesnt.. go and do some unbias research you may be supprised. I know that is a big ask but the imposible happening is part of your tradition..lol Oh BTW tell what you just said tovthe nostics who were hunted down after nicea...
@JMackeyIII Early Church historians even tried to rewrite roman historical texts to refer to jesus when none did. Its a real possibility he did not even exist. According to every (untampered with) historical text at the time there was no Earthquake, no grave openings and people walking around Jerusalem, no temple curtain being torn, no Census at the supposed birth, no Egyptian writings of enslaved Jews, armies being wiped out and so on and so forth.

so you blame religion... Good, but you can not blame christianity...
Christianity is all about salvation from Christ alone and He being the one and only Son of God. You can not annex that from the bible...
This guy is trying to rewrite the bible... Just write another book not attempt to take a single verse out of context.

@HondaRealty You do realize that you just made and absolute statement.
so by definition you argument has no meaning, and you have no starting point to argue from.
There are absolutes. To deny an absolute requires you to invoke an absolute thus nullifying your statement and proving yourself wrong and contrary.
