    the robot is there for looks it seems like.

    look at :24 - :30

    the paddle on his side is still moving and he isnt pressing the buttons.

    it seems to be just simply programming that makes it play along with it.

    check out at around 1:00 for a better angle.

  • i think you need to watch the video more closely, the robots left arm is clearly on a black joystick that controls the movement of the paddle, just as his human competitor is using the joystick with his left hand, its understandable that you couldn't see it because it blends in with the table.

  • i think you need to stop being so skeptical, robots nowadays are doing way more difficult tasks than simply playing pong, so why cant this robot play pong? plus, it seems like the whole point of this project was "based on Human-Robot Interaction", which they did very nicely ("Hey, look there, a dancing robot" lol)

  • I love patlabor, while Ghost in the shell and Cowboy Bebop are on my all time favorite list. And macross is one that I want to watch. But Megatokyo is a fun little comic, especially for an otaku that appreciates the best of both worlds. And as for l337, I would buy that shirt in a second. I'm a gaming nerd, and proud of it.
