  • i have a question...does this make sound effects without music playing thorugh it?

  • ah it stays dark and doesnt lite up? :( that sucks

  • The best demo I see!! Thank you, very instructive ;) You use the perfect tempo for the effects. Awesome!

What's the name of the song? Greetings!

  • kp 3 have like 28 more sound and its cost doubble as much as this one but then youhave more stuff on kp3 that cand do with mini like where the fuck is the mic input on the mini if mini had mic input i would buy it today want to live music that biggest disapointment in my opinion

  • does this come with its own beats? im new to this stuff and want to buy one but only if i can just plug it into my stereo and start making music, i dont want to have to buy a whole bunch of equipment

  • Best Demo on Yt. One question though, how do i hook this up to a live set, in and outs to speakers then to laptop?

  • Hey, would it work well with a guitar without a loop pedal?

  • @mjwaagner AFAIK, you'd need 2 male-to-male 1/4" to RCA cables, one from your guitar to the pad, one from the pad to a pedal or your amp or something.

  • could you hook up a guitar to this ?

  • What song is it?

  • J'ai une question:

Est-ce qu'il est utilisable comme controleur midi, en parallèle avec un autre et un logiciel de DJ ?

    Merci :)

  • @Lauliist no

  • needless to say, but best miniKP review on youtube, thumbs up

  • cool piece !

  • It virtually connects to anything that has RCA or 1/8'' jacks.

I have this thing connected to a gameboy with LSDJ, it does wonder.

  • can you connect this to a behringher djm 800??

  • can somone please explain how to get clips like this onto a computer

  • If i hooked this up to my electric piano and recorded, would these affects record with the sound or is it only for live editing?

    thanks!

  • @ace101guy if you connect the out of the piano into the input of the KP and the output of the KP into the input of whatever it is that's recording the sound, then it'll record the effects

or you could record the electric piano being played, play the recording, have the output of whatever's playing the recording go into the input of the KP and the output of the KP go into whatever you use to record sound. that would be easier since you wouldn't have to edit and play piano at the same time.

  • can you connect it to say a boss dr-3?

  • any chance of the track please? i have lots of different remixes of this track (ralphi rosario take me up) but i cant find this one and it sounds like an awesome tune

  • Can i hook it up to my bass guitar?

Maybe with some extra effect pedals?

If that would work it would be awesome!

    Greets!

  • Hey do u know if this would be compatible with numark idj?

  • you should be on korg's payroll with the # of questions you are answering!

  • thinking about getting one to use with gameboys. how does it compare to the kp3? im interested in this cuz its about half the price of a kp3

  • I'm seriously warming up to the idea of integrating the mini KP into my guitar setup. Good vid!

  • I want to use the Mini KP with my CDJ1000's and DJM500....not sure it's possible with my speaker system. I have the usual RCA's from decks to mixer but then 1/4" jacks from mixer to speaker as I have powered monitors. If I connect the Mini KP, there would need to be an RCA output from mixer to the Mini KP but what about the output from the Mini KP to my powered monitors? Surely not back into the mixer and then onto the monitors...maybe cable converters from RCA to 1/4" jack?

  • @Dazlen1 Yes. That's exactly why they make dual RCA to dual 1/4" cables. Or the 1/4" adapters to plug onto the RCA cables.

  • can i use this with a microphone

  • @soragarza not by itself but maybe with a mic preamp

  • @soragarza i wanna know it too,tell me if u know that answer :)

  • what song is that?

  • I want one so bad now. Thi made me change my mind about the kp3

  • @danfromphoenix Same here man. The Mini kp made me realize how much I DIDN'T need all of the extra features that the KP3 has.

  • this is the best demo on youtube.

Is there a looping function? How is it?

Is it possible to HOLD down a setting without giving up a finger?

  • hello thoere, do you think is it possible...with the correct adapters of course. to connect the mini kp to a guitar and use the onboard effects in real time??

  • @Synthesized13 Yes, you can take a look at the Muse guitarist. He got a kp on his guitar. Sounds pretty cool.

  • Very helpful. Thank you.

  • I HAVE TO BUY IT

    ...

    159€ so gooooood

  • What is the difference between the korg kaossilator and the mini kp kaoss pad???

  • @Tubofluxar the kaossilator is a pocket sized synth capable of creating sounds all on its own. The kp is a supplement, it is an effects processor essentially. They both serve completely different purposes, i chose the kaossilator only cause i have a crapton of pedals for my guitar as is, i may integrate this with my korg r-3 someday though!

  • Thank you very much! this shows the capabilities better than all other vids ive found! Im getting one tomorrow too :)

  • you can not sample it but you can modify it in real time

  • Thanks so much for this very simple and straight forward video! I'm looking forward to when my kp2 comes in

  • CAN YOU HOOK THIS UP TO A HERCULES CONSOLE MK2 WITH VIRTUAL DJ? what else would i need>? awsome little piece of equip..

    DJTRANZ956

  • i think i now love this i need one

  • How about this awesome little thing plus autotune for live vocals? That would be totally galactic.

  • SONG NAME PLEASE !!!!!!!!!!

  • Nice demo!

  • Decided to buy one of these with a gift card I got for X-mas instead of some bose headphones for the ipod.I think I made good choice.Nice portable FX unit That I take out of the Studio.Just waiting for it to come in the amil.Cant wait

  • what is the difference between this and a kaoss pad 3?

  • and kaoss pad 1 as well thx.

  • can i also connect it to a electric piano?

i have a simple one but want to make some effects with it.

    thanks,

    grtz from the Netherlands

  • Yeah, sure you can connect the mini kp to your electric piano :)

  • i was wondering are u able to do effects on this that dont involve drumbeats. if im able to make sounds that dont involve beats im planning on putting one in my guitar like matt bellamy from muse

  • hey guys

i heal from austria can i also use it with my numark omni control

    thanks

  • @csg0305 Yes

  • This is the coolest thing ever, you can spends days just fooling around with it and having fun. 5 stars!

  • then add a kaossilator and you can make a "on-the-fly-techno-party" ;)

  • yo can i directly input a mic with that ?

  • to directly input a mic you need a adapter to cinch

  • so as in, it is directly connectible but in order to do so all i 'll be needin is a Cinch.. ? eh ? thanks for replyin bro!

  • yes you need a XLR to Cinch cable, but if your microphone needs the 48V Phantom-Power you should add it like this

MIC >> XLRCABLE >> PowerSupply >> XLR to Cinch >> Mini Pad >> your choice...

  • Sick dude ! Niceeeeee video... ;)

  • i agree with most people that this video was the only 1 that worked the mini proper. the others i was ready to pass. the Kp3 is just too big. let me ask y ou how do i hook it up to a mixer? just on a channel? or rec out? i ask cuz if i show up to a booth i wanna know how quick i can hook it up

  • i fucking want this!@

  • i got this and the kaossilator and they both are cool.but im still getting the hang of how to use the kp.anyone who has this or the kaossilator should get the power adapters to save on batteries.

  • do you or anyone know the song?

  • Simply excelent... this video made me change my mind about getting one of these, i was going to avoid it, but now i see how cool it is, and how usefull it'd be in my gigs. Thanks a lot, 5 stars with no doubt!

  • Best Video in youtube about kaoss pad.

question: has the kp3 the same effects like the mini pad or more or less then mini pad?

what do you think, what is better in effects?

how long the batteries work? 6 hours?

  • Thanks !

KP3 has more effects than the Mini KP, well KP3 is better in effect.

Batteries works approximately 6-8 hours yeah.

  • @DJWiz79 Does the mini kp have the vocoder though?

  • is this good to use when mixing? Can you connect it to your mixer?

I would kinda like to have these effects going as I am introducing the next track

  • .... please read other comms before posting !

Yeah you can connect the mini kp to your mixer....

I repeat, you can connect every sound source to the mini kp, like guitar, mic or mixer !

  • I'm sorry I'm don't come on youtube to read page after page of comments.

But thanks for your help all the same

  • say i bought this for windows vista, do i need to buy any software, wiring etc or does everything i need come with the mini KP, and if i put a song on itunes or WMP can i just mess around or do i need a prgram that the mini kp is compatible with

  • I'm sry i think i don't understand....

The Mini KP is totally independent from WMP or iTunes, use it between your pc and your sound system.

You don't need any software or program, Mini KP is compatible with every sound source since you have cables !

  • thanks dude i get wut ya mean :)

  • best demo video on youtube of the mini KP

  • Thanks ! :)

  • can u create your own songs with just the minikp??

  • No sry you can't

  • Can this be hooked up to the new Numark NS7 MIDI Controller?

  • can you hook it up with your computer & microphone, and sing and use effects with it?

  • Brilliant video, i'm going to buy one thursday. Thanks a lot.

  • best demo ever! i'm sold.

  • Thanks :D

  • HI

I Have a Pioneer DJM 600, where i must put in th KP to get the effects on the during tracks....?

All 100 Effects are really on bord?

  • You must connect the mini kp in the SEND / RETURN jack connexion of your DJM 600 (here you need to use 4 converter rca to jack)

And all of 100 effects are really on-board !

(first effect is 00 and hundred is 99)

  • can u plug a mic into this

  • Yeah sure, but mini kp has no pre-amp...

  • What is a pre-amp? Sorry, I'm not a big technology guy. I'm big on music, but don't know the details of the actual workings.

  • The "Pre-amp" increase sound level from a mic or a turntable, it's generally an on-board feature which equips numerous mix tables.

  • Great video! I'd like to know if the headphone port is clean or if you hear noise/interference?

  • The headphone outter sound is not clean, you can hear a little noise :(

  • best video on you tube to understand all principles fonction of this mini kp ;)

  • Super vidéo ! ;)

  • how do you properly connect it if you have a stereo and a dj mixer. i mean i know that the "In" pair of wires from korg goes to the dj mixer, but what about the "Out" pair, do they also get connected to the mixer??

  • out goes to the ampllifier or speaker set-up

  • Usually you would put it at the "Send and Return" at your mixer. If you dont have that connectivity at your mxier put it between the mixer and the master out or between a device (cd player, turntable) and the mixer.

  • u made me relize my kaossilator is all alone now..lol. now i see what the min kp actully does thnx :)

  • yeh the other vids really suck, but you did it very nice :D thanks for the vid, now i go and buy one :D

  • No problem ! ;)

  • woah! you must have practiced that alot! it was amazing! i wud buy one but since its 200 dollars, my parents wont allow me to.

  • @RSBlastoise383

Why 200 bucks is not much for what you get ;)

  • i was searching for a good review of this mini kp... i only found shit exept of yours.. i thinking i'm buying it!!

    thanks 4 this vid!

  • if this is attatched to the guitar, can you turn the pad off?

  • This vid takes a big dump on dj mags review of it. Best demo of the mini kp on here.

  • Thanks :D

  • when you use the loop effect and then drop out of it, does it pickup where the end of the loop left off? or does it continue to play the song while you're in the loop?

  • Mini KP can't stop the music player, it only add effect on the music, so in loop effect it's seem to a sampler on-board and the song continue to play in back.

  • hi great vid, can you put this through a 2 channel mixer or will i have to get a multi channel mixer?

  • A simple 2 channel mixer is sufficient sure !

  • awesome vid man. I'm glad you wrote which effects. Very helpful as I'm thinking of buying one

  • Is it possible to connect this to my guitar or even my microphone? I have an multi effects pedal & would love to connect them

  • Sure you can ! Enjoy it :)

  • Best demo I've seen thanks.

  • what song man ?

  • Sorry man, dont remenber :/

  • looks really cool! :O im totally n00b, can u connect this to a stereo that has a cd playing and change the effects of the songs?

  • Yeaaah ! You can connect the Mini KP to a portable cd-player, mp3, iPod, HiFi stations... etc you need just a rca/mini-jack cable !

  • Hi, great vid. I have a question: Is it possible to hook up the Mini KP to a MicroKORG? How can I make that work, since a MicroKORG has a quarter inch jack output, and the Mini KP a RCA input and output? Same goes for the Roland KC amp I have my MicroKORG connected to. How can I connect the Mini KP's output to my Roland's quarter inch jack input? Thanks.

  • this thing doesnt have the same value as the kaossilator, but they want 200 dollars >.> I'de say the mini kp is worth 99 bux. Its awesome but a lot of its effects are very similiar.

  • Can it go into a guitar? (sorry bad english)

  • yes you can plug it guitar i think .

  • yes but it messes with your tone so you have to put it through an overdrive pedal...

  • it looks like your fingers are dancing

  • WTF!!!! i dont have any idea that the Mini kaoss pad could do all this stuff!!! Tanx for the vid man!!!

  • omg i love this little toy but do you connect this to a cdj? or to the mixer?

  • ....

Please read other comments before ask, it's always same questions.

Yes, you can connect the Mini KP to a CDJ or a Mixer.

  • dude im sorry hahaha didnt mean to bother you

so if i want to connect the mini kp to the mixer, master output? and with the cdj with a digital output?

  • Great video!!!

  • TY :)

  • so do you HAVE to set the tempo while tapping that top button? or can you just use the knob and turn it to the tempo the songs at?

  • Warning : The Mini KP don't have an auto-bpm feature.

The best method (if you know tempo):

Set approximatly the tempo by tapping the bpm-button to synchronize the little red led (below has right of screen)then set exactly the tempo with the big knob.

If you don't know tempo of the song, you can set same as "bpm manual" feature.

  • thanks! :D

  • tks for the demo

    the captions help alot!

  • Can you make beats with this or only distort them?..

  • You can only "distort" music with the minikp.

Use the Kaossilator for make beats.

  • I'm kinda new to djing and i was wandering if it was possible to link this to the kaossilator; and the my ipod

could you tell me also if you need some kinda computer program for this wicked gadget!

im buy this one definitely !!!!

    its awsome

    thnks!!!

  • DjWiz how does it affect the levels on the sound ? Do you think its transparent enouth ? Im worried because there's no level meter on it and the sound is going to go straight to the house mixer, Im afraid of blowing something up.

  • Can You connect this effects gadget to vinyl turntables?? sorry if this is a stupid question but im new to djing! lol

  • Sure you can ! But it's not a simple "gadget" guy..

  • Sorry man! lol i know this is an awesome peice of kit! defo getting one =) thanks man

  • is it possible to, say, connect a mini KP to a microkorg and use the KP to process the MK's effects?

  • yes

  • well, it can effect the output of the MK but in order to modulate the onboard effects of the synth itself, you would need the KP3 (the not-mini version of this) as it has midi interface. Then again, the effects on the kaoss pad are much better than the onboard stuff, so... yes.

  • whats the differencr betwenn this and the kaossilator?

  • this is an effects processor, so it is used more to manipulate sounds, whereas the kaossilator generates sounds like a synthesizer

  • wht song are u using

  • yeah wat song

  • Sorry men, dont remember :/

  • does this need a computer to use

  • No computer, just plug n play

  • thanks so muchh

  • so, it has a speaker or it needs an extern speaker?

  • You have to connect minikp to external speaker. (there is a mini-jack output for headphone).

  • Pretty friggin' cool. I'd sit for hours with that thing...

  • i need this but is there a way i can mount it on my guitar like the guitarest from muse cuz i owuld love new effects for mu guitar

  • velcro, or pay a professional to wire it in for you. It wouldn't be cheap to mount, and if you were going to have one like the guitarist from muse, you would be looking to get the KP2.

  • Matt Bellamy uses Mansons of Exeter. My friend had a kaoss pad wired into his guitar using them :) I think it cost about £100 + the kaoss pad.

  • well what Matt Bellamy does is, he has a regular XY pad mounted to his guitar which is connected to the Kaoss pad. The Actual kaoss pad is with all his rackmounted effects, and he controls it with his XY pad to get the crazy effectd

  • thatd be fun to play with baked

  • how can you use it live? can you just plug it right into a speaker or amp?

  • Yeah !

  • alright, thanks dude.

  • J'ai juste achete un, il est vraiment superb, et maintenaint, je recommender vraiment des personnes obtainer un KM202 ou 402. Je suis anglais by the way!

  • i cant seem to figure out how to record the stuff i do with mine. anyone know how?

  • well...where to start?

I don't understand why people get music making tools and fail to understand basic things like recording interfaces, line types, etc. Sigh...

  • heres the thing. i have recording software. i have all the right audio cables. and technically it should work. but it doesnt pick up.

care to enlighten me with your huge brain?

  • I really recommend Ableton Live. Look it up online, get it on the torrents, download the demo, whatever way you can, get your hands on a working copy. Before trying anythign else with your Mini KP, go through the built in lessons in Ableton Live. They're amazing. Mess around with the program and the effects. You'll love it if you love this thing, guaranteed.

  • Next, when you're ready, go into options, go unders audio and make sure your input device is selected and your line in are properly configured. Then start a new audio track, and make sure the line-ins are the same ones as your KP is plugged into (if you have more then 1 Line in, if you dont, dont worry about it). Then hit record and start having fun. This will all be explained step by step in the amazing tutorials.

    A+

  • Sorry about this guys, but what is that tune. ? Sounds like a real cracker!

  • So you need to memorise the effects by the number on the LCD?

  • Yes ;)

  • Funny how you end up getting attached to your favourite numbers, isn't it? You start thinking "Okay, this part could really use a little bit of 11!".
