my suv was idleing rough the other week ,tried some of that gumout injector cleaner, that did the trick, after 2 days no more rough idle and i really do notice gas mileage improvement! they say to use it every 3 months but thats crap maybe 2-3x a year is coo, imo
umm.. guys use common sense here.. ur paying money on this product to save minimal gas mileage (if any at all). ur probably paying more for this than what you would save on gas.....
I have taken hundreds of injectors out of cars. I have never once seen a single one "dirty". Or clogged. The only failure of injecotrs I have seen was either from leaking, electronic failure, or sticking due to the engine sitting for too long.
There is no such thing as a mechanic in a bottle. So if you want to clean your injectors, buy rebuild kits and do it yourself right.
I agree ,fuel economy is more based on driving tech. ,so you can't base whether a produt works or not on one tank of fuel ...spend your money on a fuel filter [as per maintainence schedule]...money better spent than 'mech. in a bottle'
By adding 2 containers of STP injector cleaner at each fill up (for two months)....I upped the milage on my 1993 olds cutlas by 3 miles per gallon, city driving. Even after a tune up, all old vaccum hoses replaced and a new cat. converter It did not do all that much for the milage....BUT....the injector cleaner REALLY showed milage improvement.
i have a problem with my car shaking a lot when i come to a stop at stoplights and such... would this help with that type of problem??? anybody?

Not quite that simple, and there is not documented evidence of the effectiveness. No name brand as there are a few different cleaners. BS

which fuel injection cleaners are the best?
Rambo29 2 years ago
they are all good, i use STP because its cheap and it works. just use a bottle or two every oil change its not nessasary to use it that much.
