If you are going from PC to a Mac I recommend that you would get the 15" MacBook Pro. It is the best computer to go from PC to Mac. I was a little worried about the track pad and most of the stuff people that go from PC to Mac would think but now I would never go back in time and not get it. It is the best computer ever!

yes they are overpriced but very good computers for WORKING, not gaming. I still have my old PC for games, but whenever i work on something i use the mac. it's much more quick. And it runs mac games flawlessly.

For PC games I use boot-camp. If you use it for productivity, it will make the cash you spent on it come back. It's also very good for college! If you are just rich and want an expensive computer... it is nonsense, just think of world famine.

I got me a MacBook Pro 15'4 in jan 2009 I love it I use Logic Pro 8 and it's a beast . Runs cool even when I stress it out and is ultra fast I'll post a response on how I tried to crash my Mac and failed the OS is solid like granite nice video .

You kick ass and I totally wish I could hang out with you. :). I got the upg'd hard drive (3.06GHz) stuck with the 4GB Ram, anti gloss screen, remote (yay!), and uhh 500gb of space on it. are you kidding? aluminum does not get hot. just like aluminum foil doesn't get hot when you take it out of the oven.

you obviously have no idea what you're talking about .Aluminum foil in the oven will quickly reach whatever temperature the oven is at. The reason it's cool when you take it out is that it equally quickly comes back to room temperature outside the oven. This is because the foil is very thin, so it has a lot of surface area, relative to its thermal mass, to exchange heat with its environment. The MacBook is not FOIL, it is a BLOCK of Aluminum making it absorb heat. Listen for once in school.

Aluminum does not retain heat like steel and iron although it will get hot. That is why aluminum is harder than steal to weld and can crack easier. It will get hot but does not retian heat liek steel.

Heat up a 5" X 5" bloc of aluminum and a 5" X 5" block of iron. The Aluminum block will cool down much quiucker than the iron block. That is why aluminum heads can crack so easy.

You could use smth like SMC fan control (but I don't recommend it, I only use it when it gets insanely hot!!! Like 91 degrees Celsius -- I was running like 10 apps or so...)

What really helps though, is to install ClickToFlash plugin, this allows you to play YouTube videos via H.264 = not as resource hungry as Flash and it doesn't get your MBP running so damn hot.

If you mean expandability wise, you're correct. The Mac Pro really is the only mac which can be upgraded very easily. BUT Mac OS's generally run better on older hardware, thus the need to upgrade is far less. (I'm not including Snow Leopard since it advances OS X on the Intel platform). Also, it depends on what you use it for. If you're a gamer I suggest you buy a regular PC with Windows.

The aluminum body can interfear with the wifi signal however you can purchase an external wireless adaptor by linksys or another brand and install it onto you mac book and that should give you a better range.

try this, when you open the screen dont put your fingers as you are at the moment, use your fingers from the side, so that you open the screen holding the RUBBER LINING AROUND THE SCREEN. if you look hard theres the BLACK BEZEL, RUBBER LINING THEN THE ALUMINIUM CASING. i always open my laptop holding the rubber and using fingers sideways so i never get fingerprints on the screen or bezel ! sounds complex but have a try !

Pretty much sums up my thoughts of my Macbook Aluminum when I first bought it. I sometimes wonder if I should have gotten the 15" Macbook pro, but I love the portability of my 13" and overall it is perfect for what I do. Glad you like your new Macbook Pro.
