superhuan , not sure about buses but he made accommodation trailors for the Libyan desert . The 'Comino" was the first and only Maltese car as far as Iam aware.
I saw a few circa 1980 , they looked like an open top Fiat 500 . Very clever man Joe Debono.
How come no Japanese cars in that vid? Its a shame that they're so overlooked in the retro car scene, considering the impact they had in the motoring scene practically the world over:(
There are not that many Classic Japanese cars as I would have photographed them if I had seen them, there are mainly Isuzu 4 door saloons or various Jap 4x4s but nothing of note from the 60's or 70's that I have seen...
..wait till I get my 1969 Crown on the road :) and yes, there are 60s, 70s and 80s jap cars on the road here. I'l be happy to send you pics to make a vid with them
@barspeed Is petrol pricey in Malta? Being that Malta is surrounded by water is rust a ongoing issue for those owing classic cars there? I own a '71 Triumph TR6 and mine never sees winter.
Anyone know if any of the Maltese cars made by Joseph Debono called ' The Comino ' still survive. This was circa mid 1980's. He also made Debono trailors .
totally cool video. My first car in 1970 was a singer vogue in mint condition which I got for 60 quid. I got drunk in devon and ended up in a ditch. Car was totalled :(
malta is small but ehn it comes to cars we are up there with the best of them
the car at 1:47 is my friend's austin and it can be hired as a wedding car soon it will be joined by my 1955 humber hawk wich is currently being restored
