If anything, the goverment must protect the people from greedy goddamn companies that doesn't give a shit about what they sell as long as they can keep it covered up and make money from it. Otherwise I completely agree with you, people are goddamn dumb and there is need for some sort of regulation.
The amino acid based substance "aspartame" has a really dodgy background, as an example. It needs to be looked over by independent scientists, not those feckers working for the companies.

Also government has guns. :D So in a market with good courts and low regulations private companies would be afraid and that is the best form of the regulation. I'd like to argue that governmental fuckups are a bit more obvious than the corporation's, and I thought everyone had guns in the US? Also, you want courts to handle it, when courts in their essence is part of the law system, and thus infuensed by the government? Or do you want to enhance the problem further by privatizing courts, thus opening up for further corruption?

By guns I mean, they can use force to legally force people to do what they want, private corporations or unions can't force you to buy their products until their friends in the government help them. And when government is small- there is less influence on the courts, and a lot less evil laws, like the one mentioned in the Gasland("Hydraulic fracturing was exempted from the Safe Drinking Water Act in the Energy Policy Act of 2005")

Our government is large. Even at half its size our government would be large. So, specifically name $1.5 trillion in spending cuts (which is less than half of our spending).
Are you going to cut out the DoD ($663b), Social Security ($677b), Veterans Affairs ($52b), Education ($46b), Homeland Security ($42b) and Justice ($23b)? What would you cut?
It's easy to say we should spend less. Finding notable specifics to cut spending while keeping yourself electable is difficult.

If there is no government to keep track of the courts, who will ensure that they will stay free from corruption? Branding laws as "Evil" is an interesting step, but then again, you did provide a Fox News link earlier.
The US public eduction does indeed suck in many aspects. I'd say your education overall sucks ass, particularly when it comes to geography. Some manner of change would be in order, but I don't see how that would be achieved by making the government smaller.
