  • hm I havent played a Tales game since... Tales of the Abyss

  • dude you get a thumbs up for including the Shenmue music at the begining, lol!

  • Is there an archer?

  • my least favourite place is the factory. for a fantasy game, no.

    i just hate factories

  • is the main character some save the world perfect plod? or is he cool like lloyd?

  • wow, that ugly main song, makes is game seem way too childish and stupid.

I hope they remove it from the eu and na versions.

but seriously, What the hell i that singing for? sonce when did we have singing in tales music?

  • @randomer24700 speak proper english motherfucker u sound like an illeterate monkey

  • @gta41978 its a typo,

     U MAD?

  • mini purple hair is such an unlikeable character. especially since she is like 7 and wears a slutty outfit.

  • well theres more exploration then v. but the graphics dont look that good for tales in 2012...

now since the future is going a head i guess i except more out of graphics for games or else it just looks outdated. but the graphcis for it are still good dont get me wrong!

gp is fun like all tales. but i think the story is a little more on the light story... its not that dark

  • People say Tales of Xillia is easy, Tales of Symphonia is a game you'll never forget, Tales of Vesperia will all you need to know is Yuri Lowell, and I think that's enough said. I've Play Symphonia, Vesperia, Dawn of The New World, Tales of Graces F demo. Tales of Graces F is fun, great gamplay, and comboing is a lot easier even for my cousin who can't combo great on the other Tales of games.

  • the graphics are worse than Vesperia, kinda lame for a title coming out in 2012

  • @sardrellas trust me, graces f is one of the best tales you'll play, it is better than vesperia and most players are saying its better than xillia, your missing out.....

  • @Adamx509 this is the best we, at ps3 will get since xillia isn't getting a western release

  • i wish you would have put SPOILER ALERT smh dam man u ruined some of it for me

  • @taazzmaann my bad

  • @young7yang lol na its all good im still gonna play it like hell lol :P

  • @taazzmaann no,its not all good,he should of put a spoiler tagin here, dont make it seem like its ok

  • @taazzmaann no one put a gun to your head and made you come here and watch the video. and besides just about all reviews have a couple spoilers

  • @skugglerthrash FAR from the point, reviews help you see if a game is worth your time, if the story gets spoiled in the process then its a failed review, I'm not saying this one is as I skipped the story bits after reading that top comment, but story spoilers should NOT be shared in a review. Wonder how a reviewer would like it if someone them about the story before going in, bet it would throw that experience off for them and drag the game down. Not directed at the uploader.

  • I honestly think vesperia, abyss, or xillia would put this game to shame, I do wish they stayed with some of the origional workors of previous games for graces, then i might not hate it so. Either way, thats just my opinion.

  • @Sardrellas sorry you feel that way.. but tales of grace is what got me into the tales series.. i did not like the gameplay or art style in tales of vasperia...you should give grace a chance.. its worth it...

  • Well I actually did play it. I played graces in Japanese the whole way through and i speak some Japanese. I just thought they messed up on it though. Now I'm not saying its a bad game, it was just too childish in my opinion. The removal of TP, the INSANE damage, and the unnecessary movements and flips the characters made just lost it for me. I just didn't feel exhilaration to play graces, but I played Symph-Vesp like.. 30 times through and never got tired of it, 1000hrs of my life well wasted.

  • @young7yang u didnt like the gameplay or art style from vesperia, easily the best in the series, let me guess dude yournot from america are u, kinda figures, japs wouldnt know a good game if it bit them in the ass

  • @gta41978 On the contrary its American who wouldn’t know a good game if it bit them in the ass. Case and point both Xenoblade and Tales of Xillia have seen releases outside of Japan but the USA thinks these games would not sell well here..

  • @gta41978 That is why it’s taken so long for tales of grace to come here and Games like Yakuza Kenzan, easily the best game in the yakuza series will never see the light of day in America. But every game that releases in America makes its way to Japan and Asia. As for my nationality I am American but have been into games since the days of Nintendo and Atari.. So I leave you with this last comment!

  • @young7yang no, its not that, its because namco brandai hates america, and the other countries who dont get this game, its not b/c of fear of sales, tales of xilla or whatever sold nearly 500,000 in the first week i Believe.so its not a fear of sales, its a miracle that this is even coming to the western shores, prolly paid an extra 15or 20million to bring it over here, now i hear if we are real real nie, they may localize xilla, so disspointing,

  • @gta41978 Wrong again... Prime example.. Shenmue 2 on the XBOX sold like sh*t, and Valkyria Chronicles did not sell well at all on the ps3.. Japan must think very hard before releasing games in the states because the apeal is different. That why final fantasy XIII was so dumbed down. Sqaure Unix wanted to appeal to International gamers, in particular the Americans their main profit margin next to Japan and now China.

  • @young7yang since u seem to know it all, can u tell me why vesperia was released on 360 , but no ps3 outside of japan, and now grace is coming to the ps3but no 360, wth kind of marketing is that

  • @gta41978 sales, sales, sales

The japanese associate the 360 with shooters mainly because thats where 80% of the 360s profits come from... that and tales of vasperia did not sell as well as namco had hoped for.. the simple fact is that most ps3 owners are prior ps2 owners and in japan thats more then 90% of gamers while in the states the RPG market is not very big when compared to shooters and advanture games.. would you by the latest Nobunaga Tactics game or Idol Master 2?

  • @young7yang ithink namco would find there are a lot more fansof tales over here than they think, despite some lackluster sales,im just glad i have the chance toplay vesperia, and grace

  • @gta41978 you are made of stupid !

  • @Sardrellas it isn't a bad opinion, in fact I almost agree with you, but I guess they were working multiple angles and Vesperia was very appealing to me whereas I think hearts is downright corny. But, again, from another angle or somebody'sdifferent thought process, people could think Vesperia was silly too. I liked Vesperia's pacing, plot, character development, and I really liked all the little tid bits, hopefully Xilia wont disappointe whenever/if ever it is released here in NA.

  • Lol girl with amnesia. I would take it right back to the store.

  • I wish I could get into this game like you did. I want to and your review gives me renewed hope, but the game irritates me so much! The dialogue is so....Blargh...so bland...I don't feel the chemistry. And the battle system...I personally liked the Vesperia system better. ;3

Well, anyways, good job on the review!

  • When does this come out in US?! :( I wanna playyy

  • @PeppyPipLBP

no idea.. iv already finished the game and am currently waiting on tales of xillia

  • @young7yang So you can read/understand Japanese? Man you're luckkyyy :( It's weird how they've only released like half of the series outside of Japan. I've played a Japanese Tales game before and it was really good, not sure why they never got around to dubbing it.

  • @PeppyPipLBP

im not 100% fluent more like 20% but the story is easy enough to understand and told in such a way that kept me interested throughout the game.

to be honest i own tales of vasperia but have not really played it yet.. for some reason i was turned off by the gameplay and in game art direction.

  • @PeppyPipLBP they think that the risk of releseing then in the west is too high of a risk because they for some strange reason think that the fanbase is non existant but they are relesing Graces F 2012 for PS3

  • @young7yang Hey, I'm a big Tales of fan. How good do you think this is compared to Abyss? Because out of all Tales of games, Abyss has the best intro, Storyline and character development.

  • @AnimeSage285

to be perfectly honest i only got into the tales series after tales of grace f and am currently waiting to play tales of xillia.. i own tales of vasperia but was turned off by the style of the game. as for past tales games i have not played them...im what you call a newbee

  • @young7yang Im not gona bother with graces, im just eager for xillia.

  • I played Vesperia, and you had to press a trigger to move outside of the 2D plane in battles. Also it seemed you couldn't jump while in free roam.

There was a 2nd control scheme, but that one required a combination of 2 buttons to jump, which I didn't like either.

So I wanted to ask, are you free to jump anytime in Graces' battles?

Is jumping mapped to a single button or is it a combination?

Can you move around in free roam without pressing a special button?

    Thanks for the review.

  • @15V31F

no your not free to jump at anytime.. but instead its implemented in certain combos which you will see later as you begin to hit levels 40 and up for each character..

no ! in order to move in free roam mode you have to hit the trigger button.

  • What the hell I tried to skip the story part And I skiped to the part where he says "She Dies" AWWW!!!! You should of told me where to skip to

  • Welcome to the tales series for the most parts they're pretty good.

Im playing Grace right now on emulator.

Btw this is excatly how a review is supposed to be done. I think more people should watch you and learn wtf they're doing.

  • Great review interesting style as well. I wish there where more american review japanese games so we could see if it worth an import. Thanks

  • random Q but how did u learn japanese cause i wanted 2 learn 4 a while cause i wanna be able 2 understand games i import from there thanx

  • This is pretty good but a few suggestions and I realize the first one isn't easy, better video quality. It makes the product look bad. i've played the PS3 demo and it looks fantastic. This just makes it look like it was directly ported from the Wii. Another is leveling out the audio. That having been said you did a good job of keeping things interesting especially for a 15 minute review.

  • is there a world map in this?

like FF7(best game i ever played)

  • @khfanforever129

no not like ff7 more like ffx

  • @young7yang

Great review, definitely picking it up when it comes out in English.

Just one problem...My retinas are bleeding from that colour saturation.

Just one question, have you played Tales of Vesperia?

  • Comment removed

  • im glad its for PS3 now but it looks like it still belongs to Wii graphic wise o.O

  • @guyver93 It looks a lot better in the TV

  • This game got really good reviews in Japan; so it was nice to get a fellow Americans view on the game too. I just moved over to Japan and I was having a hard time debating whether or not to get this game or not. thanks for the awesome review!

  • Haven't ever tried this game before... Looks very "cute" to say the least. You're very detailed in your reviews, it spoils alot.. Ever considered just doing "Let's play" Playthroughs?
